- NinerfanAppears to be HSBC. Here is what I do since the calls no not stop with all the telemarketers, etc...On my android phone, once I know the number is a telemarketer, or even collections, I created a contact called "spam". Each time I get a call, i add that number to the spam contact. I then edit that contact, to send them directly to voicemail. No calls. I have about 30 numbers so far in that contact. Just saves alot of ringing off the hook, and none of them are kind enough to leave a voice mail.
- Myname replies to mehere are some laws one should familiarize with themselves when they owe money to creditors. They can't do illegal things and there are laws to protect you. http://www.federalreserve.gov/creditcard/regs.html
this one in your case being under the The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (1977)
t prohibits collectors from engaging in abusive debt-collection practices, such as calling you outside of the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time or communicating with you at work after they have been advised that this is unacceptable or prohibited by the employer.
Next time they call be firm and say, under the fair debt collections act im protected by my right that you not contact me during my working hours. I realize i have a outstanding debt with you but if you don't stop harassing me at work then I will be fired and if you'd like me to settle my bill. It'd be in your better interest to stop contacting me at this number. - minnie truaxGo to the NC Attorney Generals Office and submit on line this phone number. NCDOJ.GOV - PPI have been receiving calls on my cell phone from (800) 395-2274 several times each day. I have been reading posts that they may be collection calls. In my case, this is wrong - I have no debt, so if it is collection calls they have the wrong person. When I answer, there is never anyone on the line. I have let it go to voice mail many times, but a message is never left. This is also not the first time I have received calls from (800) 395-2274. Typically they will stop after several days (or a week or so). The cycle then repeats every couple of months. Maybe one day, someone with invent a button for telephones that when pressed will zap and disable the computer that made the call. Making it impossible to call you will probably be the only way to stop these harrassers.
- Reginakeep calling and when I call it back it tells me that they are busy and to hold.
- debra martinThis company is calling my house starting 8 am to 8pm 7day a week. Most of the time before I get out of bed. I have not done any business with this company.

- Steeler FanThis number is relentless. 9 calls today from 8 am to 9 pm and that is just today. After reading many posts, I answer it when I am home but there is nothing there. Most numbers, you call back and you can be put on the do not call list. When you call this one back, the automated system says "you have reached Card Services" Then goes onto say if your credit card ending in "xxxx" has been validated by your phone number, please enter the last 4 digits of your ssn, or the entire credit card number. Now I don't have a card ending in that number but I say yes, and punch in a fake 4 digit ssn. It tells me that is incorrrect. Nothing you can do but hangup. There is no way out or to reach anyone. The cycle gets repeated.
If people say this is HSBC, then how do they know that if they haven't spoken to anyone, and they never leave a message? I am the do not call list but it doesn't cease. If it IS HSBC, I would love to know which one of my cards is issued through that bank, because I will cancel it in a heartbeat- Caller: Unknown

- Brian| 1 replyTHIS IS A PHISHING SCAM! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!
I contacted the real HSBC using there website, and called their customer service line. I asked them if they have a 8003952274 in their directory, she looked it up in their computer system, and responded that "NO, this number is not ours." She then took a report for their security department.
If you have an account with HSBC, and these people call again, ask for their location. They probably won't give it to you, but then hang up, and call the real HSBC using the phone numbers listed on their website.

Actually, if you are really bored, call HSBC customer service, and then call the 8003952274 number and hear the complete difference of answering tones and words. You will then know that these callers are just using HSBC in an attempt to look legit in order to get people to fall for the phishing scam.- Caller: Pretending to be HSBC
- JanThey call every day, Sat's Sun's, and weekdays from 8:30 am to whatever...no answer when I pick up..except sometimes say to hold for operator..SO ANNOYING!!! Wish I could stop them!!

- CarolBasically just HSBC calling to tell me about a payment that I had scheduled online. Did not ask for any personal information, just said we show you have a payment for this amount scheduled for this day. I told them that was correct and they said thank you have a nice day.

- LucyIf you have a cell phone just add that number as a contact and name it "SPAMMER" and give it a ringtone that none of your other contacts have and that's annoying like a dog barking. Next time they call, you'll hear the dog barking ringtone and see "SPAMMER" on your display. Sucks that Cell phones don't have a block feature!
