Chase Fraud Department confirming my recent activity of balance transfer. That's the only thing I had to answer, and it was all automated (perhaps because today is a holiday?).

It's a legit number, you should get a reference number to call back with (NOT YOUR CARD NUMBER), they just want to verify balance transfers.

i received multiple calls from this number at various times during the day. I answered the first one and it was automated and i hung up. i heard them say they were Chase and wanted to verify some activity on my card (around 9am). during work, i got about 2-3 missed calls, same number. after work i called the number on my card, to which the CSR verified that number is NOT a Chase number and they did NOT call me to verify anything. they told me my card was fine and i had no suspicious activity.
She said the best thing to do in a situation like this is always call the number on your card. do not ever give you account number etc. Chase will never ask for this info, they will read YOU the number if there is an issue. She made a note on my account that i received a fraudulent call and she took down the number.
i got another call this evening (830pm).  dont know how to make it stop!

I too got the one ring.  The call then appeared to cut off but it instead rolled to my answering machine.  Left this number and a 6-digit access code.

I too opted to call the number on the back of my card and the guy at Chase transferred me to the Fraud Dept (sounds like it's in India) who went thru 2 of today's charges (my husband got gas and apparently went to Walmart!), but because I already read this board I asked him if this is all because I did a $6,300 balance transfer yesterday and he said it absolutely was.  So, glad I already read the above or else I would have thought my card had been scanned...this guy did NOT bring up the balance transfer before I inquired.

To all future readers:  Just know that if you do any kind of balance transfer, the following day this ridiculous, automated, and somewhat alarming Fraud Department message may be triggered and could appear on your answering machine.  Oh and he also mentioned having to release the "hold" it put on my account.

We just got a call from this number, but it was for Burke & Herbert Bank (local bank in the DC Metro Area).  Seems like a scam from here.

They Just called me claiming to be my Credit Union (Infuze) wanted to Verify DOB SSN and Address to make sure I was the actual card holder...  If your bank is calling you they should know these things and not have to ask!   This is most definitely a phone phishing scam.  If you know the branch manager at your local bank ask them on the phone what their name is and if they can't provide it then thats 100% not your bank.   Watch your accounts if you get a call from these people.     I will say I find it interesting I get a call the day after using my CC at a fireworks tent (bad on me).  Play it safe and use Cash only at those locations a $2 ATM fee is a lot cheaper than dealing with identity theft!  Have a Happy and Safe 4th!

I received a call from this number stating it was Chase fraud department, the only thing is that I don't use Chase and I don't even think Chase has a presence in my state. Definitely a scam.

Call supposedly from my bank fraud center.  They never answered and it automatically stated they did not have my number in their system.  They probably need my number.  Bank is helping but now I am worried about my number.

I received a text early in the morning asking if I was using my credit card to buy gas in another state. Then they called me several times again from the same 800 number. I finally called my credit union and they told me it was their fraud department checking on a suspicious charge. My card was used 5 times in the last two days in another state. I'll have to go down and sign some paperwork to get reimbursed for the charges. I thought it was a scam but it turns out it really was my credit union.

Received a call and said it was a fraud alert for a credit card of mine. Instead of calling them back I contacted the card company direct. It was legit. There was activity on my card that wasn't mine that was done on line.

Got a automated call from Glacier National Bank saying there was fraud on our account.  I looked up our account online and then called our local bank and sure enough we did have some fraud going on.  We had 4 fraudulent charges to DTE energy and 2 to comcost out of Detroit.  It is the best practice to call you local bank first before you call the number back.

This phone call was legit. They left a message about suspicious activity on my debit card. I checked my account, and sure enough, there was a charge made at a 7 Eleven for $25 in New York...I live nowhere near there. Called my bank's 1-800 and found that many others had the same charges and had been calling this morning.

Same. I just got a call from this number for my Glacier Bank card. Saw a charge for $25 at a 7 Eleven in New York. I called the 1-800 number on the back of the card and filed a dispute. (They had already cancelled my CC#, so there were thankfully no further charges made to my card!)

Repeated automated calls stating to call this number to verify a suspicious charge from "Scotty's Towing".  States they are calling from Washington Trust, which is the bank our business uses, but, we have no credit cards with this bank.  This is clearly an attempt to find out credit card information.

Definitely a legit call, not from Chase as other people said, it was from my bank (on a Sunday) they called to verify the last 4 transactions and yes I did make them,  I am glad they called to verify.  It was not a scam call.  They never asked personal information.
