Got lots of calls from this phone number. When I finally answered a guy told me that he was calling from Chase Bank collections department. I told him that I have no business with Chase and he told me to call 800-654-9230 to remove my number from their list.

I got a call twice within a half hour from this number, and didn't answer. From what I've read of other people's problems with this number, I'm glad I didn't answer.

this number calls my home every day starting at exactly 8:11 a.m.  for 3 weeks, i have been picking up the phone, saying nothing, hitting mute, nobody ever says anything and it disconnects after about a minute.  they were calling up to 10-15 times a day.  now, they call at 8:11 a.m., 11:40 a.m., 3:00 ish, 5:00 ish, and at least twice before 9:00 p.m.  the call is being routed from INDIA!! when i used to say hello, it tripped the computer to let them know someone had picked up.  you could hear this DEFINITE indian accent.  after -- starting nicely -- and then with force, i told them to quit calling my number, they just keep talking like i didn't say anything.  i would finally hang up.  we used to have an account with chase, but closed it.  are they trying to sign us up??  i will not do business with companies that farm out to india or malaisa!!  when you ask them where they are, they pick the only city they know of . . . "i in san ransico raliforna."  when i ask them what the capital of san-fran-risco-californa is, they are stumped.  after weeks of putting them through silence, you would think the computer would give up.  i am going to be forced to pull out the big guns and forward the phone to walmart or pizza hut for the day.  this works after a while, but it really confuses friends and family (but they should be calling on my cell anyway!).  does anyone know ANY way to stop this??  thank you!

There's seems to be new tactic with credit collectors. I am late on a Chase acct and am getting multiple calls daily from at least 3 different numbers. 800-933-6004, 800-424-5004 and 800-684-8429, who knows how many others. Nice tactics, harass people by hanging up constantly when your late on a stupid payment. Like one is determined to pay quicker when they treat us like crap. And we pay a fortune to these people, on a monthly basis, just to borrow money. I even had one of these callers ask for me and when I received the phone and said Hello, then they hung up.

I have received close to 20 calls a day for about 2 weeks now. No one ever leaves a message and I have yet to answer their calls.  All of my known credit card accounts are in good standing, but I'm starting to get a little worried that someone might have stolen my identity and opened up an account in my name. Therefore, I'm going to order a detailed credit score report and I recommend that other victims do likewise. It is absolutely ridiculous that a well-established back such as Chase would use tactics like this. I'm cancelling my account with them ASAP.

I have received about 75 calls a day on my cell phone and have also been getting calls at my work number, which I never give out on anything.  They have not once left a message which leads me to believe that it really is nothing important.  I do have an account with chase, but I have very good credit with them and always pay on time.  If I do find out that it is really Chase, I am going to cancel as well.  But, I am going to call the number above that Marina provided to see if I can get on a no-call list for these people

For the past month I have been plagues by calls from 800-424-5004 with caller identified as "Unknown Name".  These calls start at exact;y 8:20 a.m. and continue throughout the day at half hour intervals.  The first call I answered and when there was dead silence; I called the number back and got a computer voice identifying Customer Support please enter your account number. I immediately hung up and now feel as if I am a prisoner in my own home. I no longer answer my telephone.  Oh yes, I have voice mail but there is never a message left.  What can we do about this invasion of our privacy?  One more thing, I too have a Chase account

I posted on: 5 Mar 2007 11:30 PM...   I have received a call on my cell phone too, I never give out this number!! This has been my back up phone to avoid the regular phone line issues. What a bunch of jerks. I have put all my numbers on the do not call list, in a few weeks it should kick in. If it's Chase ligitimately crank-calling, it won't stop, as I have an acct. with them (for now). But if it's a scam, well, I guess they won't bother to check that list and crank call anyway...what's a girl to do?

technology is beginning to really suck

    Ain't Talkin'
We also believe this is Chase, along with about 3 other numbers they use.  Unfortunately, the folks in India need jobs too and mega-corps like Chase just use people all over the globe.  Some they use with credit cards, others they use in their call centers against the credit card folks.  What a world, what a world.  House rule here: If a stranger comes to the door, you're not obligated to open.  By the same token, if Mr. Caller ID says Unknown, Private, Blocked or we just don't know you, we're not obligated to talk to you!  It makes life pretty simple ~ puts the advantage and control of technology back in your own court.

HAVE BEEN GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER ON MY CELL PHONE FOR ABOUT
A MONTH.  THIS IS A LEGITIMATE CHASE NUMBER FROM THEIR CREDIT CARD
CENTER IN INDIA.  DO NOT HAVE AN ACCOUNT OF ANY TYPE WITH CHASE AND
DO NOT PLAN ON HAVING ONE.  THINK THEY ARE JUST COLD CALLING FOR WHAT EVER PURPOSE.  HAVE PUT CELL NUMBER ON DO NOT CALL LIST FOR ALL THE GOOD THAT WILL DO.  JUST TALKED WITH MY CELL CARRIER AND THEY ADVISED TO CHANGE THE TELEPHONE NUMBER.  THEY HAVE EVEN OFFERED TO WAIVE THE FEE TO DO THIS.  THEY SAY THAT THIS IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM OF LATE.  DON'T KNOW HOW THESE CALL CENTERS GET CELL NUMBERS OTHER THAN RANDOM DIALING WITH A COMPUTER - BUT IT REALLY BEGINS TO GET ON YOUR NERVES AFTER A WHILE.  BY THE WAY - THE REAL CHASE BANK I SPOKE WITH IN NEW YORK COULD OF CARED LESS.

I've been getting calls from this number for about 3 days.  We have several accounts with Chase but they are all in good standing.  The phone is always out of area and the calls come at regular intervals.  I have a message on my phone that states that we realize that being on do not call lists exempts those of you with whom we do business.  However, just because we do business with you does not mean we want to eat our "insert name of meal being interuppted here" while chatting with you.  If your call is important to US, (that works BOTH ways) we will answer.  If your caller ID displays out of area, the call is NOT important to us and therefore, we won't be chatting today.  Have a nice day!

I also have been getting a lot of calls at home, that seem to call 3 times or so in a row, within minutes, but no caller id onhome phone. I have a chase account as well, but in good standing. I have good credit and never had a late payment or anything. really annoying!!!
I googles 800-424-5004 and found this! crazy!

Register your number at donotcall.gov  This will put you on a registry which will dramatically reduce the calls, however this takes upto 31 days.  If you continue to get get calls you can file a complaint though this website.

Now, besides chase calling me I have also been getting calls from a company who calls them self "General Revenue".  They had my correct name & number, they asked for my DOB to confirm to which I said why don't you tell me?  Of course the had the wrong info, along with the wrong 4 digits of my SSN. I asked that they stop calling, but no.  I told them I'll file a complaint with both the BBB as well as the do not call registry.  I asked what kind of 'financial services' they provide, he said "that's confidential"! wtf!?!? i googled the number but nothing other than a church forum showed up stating this co. called them for student loan consolidation...which I have no student debt. Go figure. Pulled a credit report, nothing fishy but I'm still confused.
