It is against the law for debt collectors to contact you earlier than 8 am or after 9 pm. It's also unlawful for them to repeatedly call you in such a way to appear to annoy you. These activities should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. Everyone should be doing this; it's a personal responsibility.

1st of all when we call you people we are not calling just to call... you owe the bank money and it is our job to collect on that debt ...ego that is why we are called "COLLECTION AGENTS". Further more, we do not physically dial the number, it is done by auto dialer... Do you idiots realize how many customers Chase has. Who in there right mind would sit there and physically dial that. Unfortuanately there is like a 5 to 10 second delay from the time the person picks up the phone til the time it comes through our headset... this is why there is a delay. For all you goof balls who think its illegal for us to contact you... heres a tip for you... WE ARE NOT A THIRD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCY... WE CALL ONLY OUR CHASE CUSTOMERS, IF YOU ARE A CUSTOMER AND YOU OWE US MONEY...NEWS FLASH WE WILL CONTINUE TO CALL YOU...HELPFUL HINT IGNORING THE PHONE CALLS BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO MONEY DOES NOT STOP THE CALLS ANSWERING THE PHONE DOES, AND IF YOU HAD ANY SENSE AT ALL YOU WOULD REALIZE THAT SOME OF US ARE ACTUALLY WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU BUT YOU ARE TOO BUSY BEING MAD AT US BECAUSE YOU HAVE POOR MONEY MANAGEMENT SKILL. GET IT TOGETHER PEOPLE STOP WHINING AND PAY YOUR DARN BILL AND THE CALLS WILL STOP!!!!!

Yep, started calling about 2 weeks ago....just out of the blue.  Caller ID says, 1-800-424-5004.  Calls start about 8am and average about 4 times an hour until about 9pm.  Freakin' sick of it!!  So...I keep the phone next to the computer.  I've only answered this number one time, saying, "Hello"...with no human response.  So, last week I started hitting the answer button and holding the phone up to the computer speakers. Now they get to hear the "farting preacher" as loud as I can play it.  I let this go on for about 3 minutes, then hang up. Strangely, this technique seems to have reduced the calls to twice a day.  Think I'm joking?  I'm NOT!!!

Started getting calls from 800-424-5004 out of the blue, just like everyone else here.  Haven't answered, but the caller will never leave a message on the answering machine.  According to my caller ID, the calls start at 8:00 AM and end just before 9:00 PM.

I received my first call at 7:28am.  I was in the shower at the time.  When I was dressed and ready to start my day I picked up the phone from its charger and saw that they had phoned me starting at 7:28am and then dialed my number every 6 minutes thereafter until 8:10am.  That is a total of 5 calls in less than one hour.  I'd say that's excessive wether or not someone is just trying to do their job that is overkill and I would definitely call it harrassment.  Not to mention they did the same thing mid day - while I was working and not near the phone - and again at 8pm when I was again TRYING TO WORK my second job.  Never once left a message. I really think this criminal.

It doesn't matter if you put your number on a no-call list. If you do business with a company, they are allowed to call you for up to 18 months after you quit doing business with them. Since you said you have an account with Chase, they are allowed to call you as much as they want without being fined by the FTC. You can, however, tell them to stop calling you. But based on the responses from other people about this number I doubt the calls will stop.

I have no idea how they got my number. I don't give it out to anyone but my close friends and family. But they have it and they're calling me about ten times a day, every day starting at 8:23 a.m. I have my phone set up where it sends their calls automatically to voicemail. They never leave messages.

I've been getting calls to my FAX line from this number for weeks at all hours of the day & night. The caller ID said, "International 1-800-424-5004". I called the number back this morning & an automated message said, "Welcome to Chase credit card services. Please enter your 16 digit card number." .. I did NOT! .. I contacted Chase since I have a Chase card. They said that this is NOT from their company, and to NOT enter any information.

Obviously, somebody out there is trying to steal credit card numbers.

    Be careful out there!

some indian guy keeps calling pretending to be different companies banks etc... but refuses to identify themselves and states that by state law they are not allowed to reveal their identities.

all of their attempts are to obtain information about you, such as name, address, telephone, bank account/credit card number.

if you listen carefully, what they say does not makes sense and is not logical. very easy to figure out that its a scam.

I stopped paying my Chase card when they changed rates and details of my account without notifying me.  I called them immediately when I found out and asked them to put me back to the same thing I had originally signed up for until they give me 30 days notice.  they refused...I told them I would not pay until they did that...they have been calling me at least 20 X a day since then.  It started off as saying Chase..now it is Chase plus various 800 numbers...800-484-5004...this place is the worst to do business with.  I would gladly pay what I owe, but I am not going to pay things I didn't agree to or have a chance to do anything about!

    The BatMan.
Chase or a scam company posing as Chase, uses different toll-free numbers to harass individuals, including those with no accounts with Chase.  They will also call you from an 847 area code in Chicago and a number camoflouged by "1" to get through caller block systems.  I use a nuisance telephone line to deposit their calls from all their numbers.  They used to call 20 times per day, on average, but now I route them directly to voicemail, so it costs them for a terminated call.  I estimate my system is costing them 20-30.00/day in system, personnel costs,  and toll utilization charges.  Consequently, the Batman is pleased to report that their calls have gone down 50 to 75% very rapidly.  If it is Chase, and I doubt it is, they are using Federal TARP funds to overload domestic telecommunications networks with calls originating from a call center in Mombai, India, which would appear to be in violation of our public policy in regard to Homeland Security.  Anyway, I am pleased with my current system which "catches" their calls and deposits them safely where I want them.  I keep the record, never receive their calls on my main line, and enjoy knowing I am costing them big bucks in the process.  The FCC should be getting involved with this scam.  This Chase scammer  thinks they can blackmail people into giving them private financial account data by "hijacking" telecommunications networks.  Do not call these people under any circumstances and certainly do not give them account or financial information.  Do not contact the Agency FTC, they are a "dummy" agency that does not enforce the "Do Not Call Registry" and your registered complaint is never read by any person.  Your digital phone carrier will assist you, hopefully, as this potentially hurts their bottom line.   Gotham is safe tonight - The BatMan.

We had the same problem on a bill that we didn't owe. Contact Kimberly Wright at kwright@consumerlawcenter.com.    Telephone # 323-988-2400 ext. 250.   Fax 1-866-583-3695. You can see their website at www.krohanandmoss.com.  They filed a lawsuit against the collection agency. The agency had to pay both us and the lawyer fees, and all costs. It was done and over with in a matter of weeks and no more annoying calls. They also had to clean up our credit which they had unjustly trashed. Make sure you are keeping records of all the calls, dates, time, who you talked to, and what was said. This was a great way of getting a great result. Finally some justice.  Good luck.

Go to www.krohnandmoss.com  . They took care of a similar problem for us. We didn't owe the money, they trashed our credit, and we were getting lots of annoying calls.  One of their lawyers, Kimberly Wright, filed a lawsuit for us and within a matter of weeks, the collection agency had to pay us, the lawyer fees, all costs, clean up our credit they had wrongfully trashed, and no more annoying calls. This is the absolute best way to handle these things. Much less stress on you and you are paid for being annoyed and harassed.
