- Karen G| 12 repliesIt's not about a phone call that I received. It is the number of the business that has scammed so many people by billing people through their verizon and cell phone bills...
I started to see an additional section on my business phone bill called ILD. There was a charge of more than $12.00 each month for the past 3 months. I have called Verizon and they could not tell me more than it is a voice messaging system. When I reminded the Verizon Rep that I have voice messaging through verizon and I do not use any other voice messaging systems she told me I have to call the company directly at 800-433-4518. She said any company can bill me through my phone bill and they can only remove the charges but cannot prevent them. What kind of world is this where anyone can bill you or take your money without your knowledge?!?!?! Someone needs to find out exactly who this is and file a class action suit. This company apparently has hurt several of people financially.- Caller: ILD

- Fred| 3 repliesI got those charges to and have no idea either. I googled that number and found tons of complaints. This requires a class action lawsuit, but I don't know how to start one. Can someone please help us out. Verizon is no help.
- Anita replies to FredI have received this charge the last two months on my phone bill and don't know what to do about it!
- Anita replies to Fred| 1 replyI called aT&T, they had me call ILD and ILD is just the billing service. The charge is for a Company calll PBA Services. She told me they are Voicemail service. I'm calling them next!!!!!!! Their number is 1-866-576-1872. Hours are 9 am to 8 pm and I'm angry, I didn't listen to the time zone.
- Anita| 1 replyHere's the details guys.....my child had one of the "popups" undoubtedly for a free Burger King gift card. It asks for you info.....typical kid, he completed it....but in fine print, it says that you are agreeing to sign up for their voicemail service. They can call it what they want to and say the terms and conditions are there BUT I STILL CALL IT A SCAM!!!!!!SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
- PooterTechI did not get a call, but I did recieve an extra amount added to my phone bill. I called Embarq and was advised to put A third party hold on my service. The phone company took this amount,($12.95 plus tax), off of this months bill. I then called this 800 number and reached ILD and was told that they would refund the money within the next two billing cycles. I also have no clue as to how I came to recieve this billing.N2J5
- ennaI recieved the same charge $12.95 from ILD.. I called the number that was on my phone bill , they said an email of my daughters signed up for some coupons. First of all my daughter is only 14 and the name was wrong on the email account so it was a scam no doubt... they took the charges off, but you can not tell me that verizon doesn't know anything about this... why and how are they allowed to do this?
- Sherri replies to AnitaI called this number just now, Thank you for posting the number. I am really bad about getting my verizon bill and putting it aside. (and never opening it, i just call and pay it over phone) Something made me open my bill this month and on it I seen those charges with tax coming to 14.02. I called verizon but they said I would have to call that 4518 number and that they could not take those charges off. I called the number u listed and the lady told me a name of the person who signed up (which I do not know) and told me thatshe would credit me back "4" months worth right now and since they charged me already for Nov they would credit me back for that also once they get that payment from verizon. I guess tonight i learned I need to go over every bill in detail.. esp talking about 5 months worth..
- Liz replies to Karen G| 4 repliesYes it happened to me too! Unbelieveable that a company like At&T would allow third party billing without even knowing what for. It is amazing that someone can charge something thru our phones without our knowledge or any documentation to support that we even know about it, I'm e-mailing this site to all friends and a few AT&T people. Maybe they will see that this is nothing other than FREUD and there IS guilt by association.......!
- Col T| 1 replyILD Teleservices already reached a settlement with the FTC in 2003 to pay almost $700,000. It was for the same thing you are all talking about, with different variations ... but all scams. ILD Teleservices is a crammer. Watch your phone bills like a hawk.
- Caller: ILD Teleservices
- Raven replies to Karen GIf you are a Verizon Customer, the only way to stop this is to email verizon.csc@verizon.com and ask them to put a block on your account for all third party billing.
NOTE that if Verizon is not your long distance company as well, then you will end up with another bill for long distance. That is a bill for local services from Verizon and a separte bill for long distance. Sprint, ATT are all third parties. Putting this block on mean they will no longer be showing up on your verizon bill.
Also please file a complaint with the FTC. ...This is not a ranting session. Stay calm follow these steps...
1. Call the third party on the bill, who ever they are and cancel the service.
2.While on the call with them do the Discovery thing. Who what how....Ask for their street address and main telephone number (you will need it later).
3. Ask how this happend. What site the unknown party go to.
4. Once you have collected all the information you can go to
https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 FTC Consumer Complaint Form. Remember this is not a ranting session.
If in you "discover" the internet or email was involved you may also want to file a complaint with www.ic3.gov (FBI Internet Crime Complain Center)
Also go to www.ripoffreport.com and put the same info there.
Finally contact your congressman. Give them the same info and ask for legislation to stop 3rd party billing on local phone bills. https://forms.house.gov/wyr/welcome.shtml
The more of us that complain formaly the more power is given to those agency's to do something.
Good Luck. - mmmkaaa| 2 repliesJust noticed the $7.95 charge on my AT&T home bill. WTF? Called AT&T and they suggested I contact ILD at 1-800-433-4518. I did and spoke with a "Veronica". She claims someone from my household called the 10-15-15-800 number and that is why we were billed. When I explained that anyone needing directory assistance in my household knows to dial 411 or fire up the various onlne directories. Bottom line, Veronice agreed to credit back (smart move on ILD's part) the charge within 1 to 3 billing cycles. I called AT&T back and will pay my bill minus the $7.95 scam charge.
- cdleesc replies to mmmkaaaI just received my AT&T monthly statement with a charge of $12.95 added for "PBA Services". I called AT&T and they referred me to ILD Services at 1-800-433-4518. I called ILD Services and they agreed to remove the charges. When I asked why or how this could happen they told me I had requested the service on an internet website. NOT SO!!!!!. How long are these people going to continue to get away with this SCAM!! I'm calling AT&T again and taking this higher. They shouldn't automatically be adding charges or services to my account without my prior approval.
- sandywell I called Verizon and asked them what the charge was for and their rep. looked at my billing and said that it looked like i had been "crammed" and that he would remove the charge. So with in 5 mints. I had other questions about the billing, the rep. who was very understanding and quick at taking care of the problem everything was resovled. He had said that this company(ILD) was doing this at random.

- altonThere was a charge of $24.95 that showed up on my parents' phone bill that showed that it was from ILD Teleservices and left the phone number 800-433-4518.
I called them to have the charges removed. They said that there were charges for Feb 8 and March 8, and that they would apply a credit for $24.95 for March 8, but since I had used there service, they refused to credit the charge for February.
They claimed that I signed up for safeguardmycredit.com on 1/17/08. I didn't. This is the information they gave me was my name/address/phone, but they had the wrong email address! They also refused to give me the IP address.
They claimed that the ipaa - sends packets in the mail regarding account - credit history, etc. - I never got any packet in the mail. safeguardmycredit according to them just takes the orders.
The woman I spoke to was Tahnee, employee 0075.

I don't remember if the confirmation number 3027341 was for cancellation or if it was for the order, but I believe it was the former.
To this day, I have the charges on the phone bill, but no credits.- Caller: SafeGuardMyCredit.com
