Turns out when I Paid my car off, I still had a 9 dollar balance...Yes that's right! My bad, but they could have sent a bill w/o sending it to collection. The lady I spoke to was crazy rude about this, she was stating how "my inattentiveness to my bill has led to this" whatever...

continuous harrassing phone calls are illegal regardless if it is a bill collector or not according to  the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. An unpaid bill does not give anyone the right to harass and mistreat other people. This unprofessionalism reflects ignorance and lack of ethics.  If you and your company use this approach as part of collecting or harassing people, then there are many things wrong with the company and its employees, collectively and individually.  Think about how you're representing yourself and treating others. What goes around comes around.  Even with ruthless and self-righteous bill collecting.

just hope you only work 8 hours that would suck calling people over and over how many of 10 people really say there speaking and you get to make a deal aday times are hard now if they cant pay they whont pay like i did

these people even said i wouldn't get a loan no matter what and harassed me non stop  ...i called and them and real insults happened again what a company they are slime balls file a complaint online!!!

well they call all they time, i ask to be called after work and it took two weeks for them to do that, they are not polite no training no understanding, i make decent money 40- a yr and don't have to pay my debts im an American and you cant understand that all they do is call call call like one day ill break down and pay lol, lmao, i love it, i called em back and ask for a manger yet nothing they hide, they are rude and have no spine i hope all there families friends the worst i hope the worst for these losers, they are like leaches, its funny they just dont get it they are dumb, stupid u think ill pay lol lol lol lol

You call their "Customer Service" department, get a payoff quote, inform them verbally and IN writing that the note is going to be paid IN full on xx-xx-xxxx date...only to have them reward you (and your relatives) with punitive and RELENTLESS harassment.

look people i am a former bill collecter and we are not all as you would put it a.... we are simply doing are job to pay are bills and support are family and yes 50 percent of us have debts that are being paid directly out of our checks and we do make alot more then you would like to believe we not only get a hourly pay we make commission as well. we dont set out to call you guys to agure with you on when or if you will pay your bill we are simply a middle man between you and the corperation that lent you the money to get what yoy wanted or needed and as far as stating who we are we are not requiered to state who we are to any third party this prevents people from knowing your personal business and yes a third party is anyone that is not you or your attorney. as far as us calling all the time if you would just pick your phone up to give us the chance to tell you who we are and why we are calling we can give you different options to get your debts clared up but instead 60 percent of you screen you calls by using a third party that we are unable to speak with or better yet some of you will go as far as putting your children on the phone wow great parenting my hat goes of to those ones. so my suggestion is stop running from the problem of owing a debt answer your phone go ahead get it over.... as soon as you do this the faster we will go away for the 50 percent of you that are struggling to make ends and and really can not see any way to pay this bill at least give us a chance to help you explain to us why you cant pay this and we will do our best to help you and thanks to the responsablke people that actully do pay their bills.

I received a message from Aliza from CCB.  She left a reference number.  When I called back, she could not find my name or the ref #.  She then asked for my SS #.  When I refused, she said it was for a vehicle I cosigned for (which I never had). She asked if I ever heard of a company called TRIAD.  When I said no, she said that they must have the wrong person.  She said it was for a Pamela with a different last name.  When I asked her if I should be worried about this misunderstanding would be on my record, she said no.  I then questioned then how did they get my number, she said that When someone with the same last name came up, they would try to see if I was related.  Doesn't make sense since she said that "Pamela" had a different last name.  Also seemed odd to me considering I always pay my bills and have great credit.

Hi mary, what most likley happened is when we receive the debts from the corp that you or the person we tried to reach there is a search done called waterfall this pulls any nymber with a same last name, freind that they may have put done as a reference at some point in their life,any relative,or every cell phone number they ever had under their name we also get a list of every neihbor they have had or the collecter mat have misdailed the number and did not relize it as far as the reference number some times it is hard to hear it correctly from what i have been told from people we have a automated call that leaves messages and it is really hard to understand that sometimes. we usally read the last four of the ss to make sure it is not you so if this was done and it does not match there is nothing to worry about you are not the person we are looking for and if you do not no the person the calls should stop and the only way this debt would effect you is if your ss# was on this debt as the debter or the cosigner.

I was called to pay a bill and be informed I was responsbile for payment of a bill for someone that I have never met.  I do know who he is, but I have never met him, nor never care to.  He is a loser.  I did not co-sign and am not related. But due to his loser status and their identity theft mentality they prob used my phone number etc on loan papers? not sure..but whatever. As I tried to explain the collector was incredibly nasty and immature. I will file a written complaint.

Honestly, you can't really bash bill collectors, because if it wasn't for us, the economy would be in worst shape than what it already is.  (agree)  Sorry we have to help clean up the mistakes you people make trying to "compete with the jones." 1st of all, you people start going into debt by taking trips you cant afford, buying cars you cant afford, and spending money that don't have, nor doesn't  belong to you and you get mad because the creditor want whats rightfully theirs in the 1st place.  Why get angry, was that your intent from the start.  You have no reason to be upset if you're receiving calls from collectors, because if creditors owed you money, you would do everything in your power to recover every dime thats due as fast as possible, especially if its a staggering balance 10,000 and above.  I guarantee you wouldn't settle.  Just look at insurance companies when they are in the wrong and how often they are taken to court.  You dig a ditch for one you have to dig a ditch for two, and you just need to make better decisions.  You made your bed you have to lay in it.  You people gripping about collectors, you deserved to be contacted because you are causing Americans to lose their jobs because you want to live a certain way without the capital to support it.  we aren't just collecting bills, we are helping put america back to work and cleaning up the economy from the ground up.
