- get real replies to Another workerif we could pay, then we would have paid the original creditor to whom the debt is due. i will never ever pay any debt collection agency - especially after being accused of "stealing", "refusing to pay", after i say I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY, and also and being called at work. my debt was with one company only and they refused to make adjustments in my monthly payment when my annual salary was cut in half, so they can just wait. when i have the money, then i will pay them and only them. if they feel like it, they can dish out any monies to reimburse the debt agency that bought the debt. i don't care if i can never ever buy anything else...i had a house and sold it..no foreclosure...i'm not going to buy anything that fattens some bank's pockets.
- get real replies to oh JEESwhat are we supposed to do...rob a bank? what part of WE DON'T HAVE THE MONEY do you not understand? if we had the damn money, we would have paid the original loan. why don't you cut your salary in half and then pay all your bills. huh? try that..walk in our shoes.
- ObiI've been getting calls from the number. I have no problems with it, I know I owe the money and am paying, but I'm curious about one thing: the collector threatened to take me to court over the debt? Can they do that?

- ScrewU Scumbag replies to yet another bill collectorYou did not set anything straight, except the low opinion by which you are held is justified.
Besides proving once again - bill collectors cannot spell, you have no comprehension of what you just said. You think you just validated the long honored ideal that one should meet their commitments. You correctly point to hard work, and living within's one's means, as the answer.
But, considering your audience, what you really said was: I make as much as any well paid executive secretary in America, and miracle of miracles, unlike anyone else from my family, who are on welfare, I can afford both cars outside my home, and send my child to school.
Good for you. And I sincerely mean that I hope you continue too do well. But, you need to get a handle on what you are saying about contracts if you plan to continue up the economic ladder. A contract to repay a loan is not a license to do whatever you want in pursuit of collection. No contract states one will be harassed to pay, nor that one can harass others in a blind attempt at collections.
Now what if, as in my case, every debt I have was entered into when I was making over 250K a year, as a Sales Director, for a large Corporation. My job was as secure as it could get. I blew out my quotas. My customers let my management know I was very responsive and they were much happier than they were with other sales people in the past. My Management and others with authority told me I was safe from any lay-offs that may come because of this.
But when Motorola started laying off 35000 (over half of the workforce) people the day after the Election, none of that mattered. The decisions on the lay-offs were made en-mass and did not consider items like performance, as the legal dept advised that quotas were not an objective standard that they could defend against in the age and sex discrimination lawsuits they expected to follow. My management was not even consulted and even tried to reverse the decision with regards to me.
Now, after being blindsided with losing this well paid job, every job I interviewed for over the next 8 months, were for jobs that were never filled as companies continued cutting. I continued paying every bill I had, confident that I would land a position. I should not have paid any. Now, that I am over 1.5 years into unemployment and all my money has run out and these call from CCB start.
The contracts I entered into were business decisions to loan money, made by banks, based upon my past credit history, employment and ability to repay. I never over extended my self. But, then again i did not expect to go from 250K/yr to 0, and neither did the bank. And, your MORAL OUTRAGE and smugness is a bit out of place. The party that created this mess were the banks, they have the obligation of lending money to good credit risks. Because they over extended themselves in the Mortgage business - they led directly to the loss of my position when their house of cards collapsed.
When you say just answer the phone. You again show you have no idea what you are saying. You only see the world from your perspective. You only think about the instance you are calling about. You don't consider at all that the call you are making is the 10th that day to the same number from your company. And, what gives you the right to call numbers that "might" be right.
Do you think I give a rats [***] about what you think?
Besides, it will come around for you soon enough. Karma has a tendency to do that. - a bad cosign choice| 3 repliesHey...has anyone ever received written correspondence from CCB before the phone calls began? I have had pristine credit until my brother really screwed me over and I have to pay his debt now. I am going to pay this debt but feel uncomfortable giving them my check over the phone when I have not even received a letter from them. The last letter I received was from GMAC a week and a half ago. Of course, they called me on a weekend and when I tried to call GMAC, their offices are closed. I would like to settle this much more than they would but am uncomfortable since the last company I owed was GMAC.
To all the bill collectors who have written here with disrespectful comments...quit generalizing. You have no idea who you are dealing with and the circumstances that surround the debt. Thank God, I have a job and can afford to pay my bills. Unfortunately, now I have to pay my brothers debt because I tried to help him in a time of need. If you work for CCB and have commented here than your company needs to be made aware of how you are making them look to the public.- Caller: CCB
- Annoyed by CCBI recently received a call from CCB. I didn’t know it was CCB because they refused to identify the name of the company that was calling or why they were calling and the caller id was blocked. They gave me an address and phone number and was told to mail them personal information so they could verify who I was before they would give me any information as to the nature of the call. After a search on the net I found out who was calling and I _think_ I know why, but even after I called them back they refused to confirm anything. In general the person I talked to was very unprofessional.
It appears that the call is in reference to a vehicle my uncle voluntarily surrendered several months ago. I am not very happy with the way this was handled by Nuvell/GMAC or whoever had the note, I keep getting bounced back and forth between the two companies. The vehicle that was returned had a bluebook value of $12,000, he still owed $8,000 and we received a letter saying it only sold for $4,000. We never received any letters from the lender requesting additional payments and the credit report showed it had been charged off. Then a few weeks later I find out it appears to have been turned over to a collection company.
I have noted many comments on here belittling people for their financial problems and how they are irresponsible with their money. Not everyone with financial difficulties are irresponsible, my uncle has debts in collections because he has had a severe stroke and is now in a nursing home. The bulk of his income is going to paying medical bills to keep him alive. We are working to pay off what debts he has remaining with the little money he has left over each month.
So for those of you out there who feel you are better than everyone else and think that people who are in collections are deadbeats who can’t manage their money, there are times when a person can wind up in collections through no fault of their own.- Caller: CCB

- debtpuncher replies to a bad cosign choice| 2 repliesDO NOT PAY THIS! If this is a "deficiency balance" that is fraudulent conversion. Wiki this or hit this link http://www.petitiononline.com/IRSRICO/petition.html
I also had a car repo'ed by them after they failed to accept make arrangements. They backed out of a contract and the sale of the collateral nulls the contract. Its a security agreement and for me to make payments you must provide "consideration" one of the 4 C's of a contract. (Wiki contract law) Consideration is the collateral in question. Someone elase name is on that vehicle , if they charge this to my name thats conversion of goods and can be taken to civil court. I got the first call attempt by this CCB company today on a SUNDAY! FDCPA violation #1 used a spoofed number violation #2. So I looked it up here , laughed for a bit. Then called the number im suppose to call (using Skype :)) and asked if Mr. Fraud was there. I then explained he was under investigation for fraudulent conversion and is a class 3 felony. Folks bottom line is I pay for what i am provided. I dont pay for a car that I dont have. YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELF GMAC YOU DIDNT AGREE TO THE TERMS IN THE CONTRACT. Unfortunatly they are not at a loss like I would want them to be becasue in my 5 year contract they got all thier prin cipal balance of the loan and 5 years of interest. have fun with you imaginary bill YOU WONT COLLECT ! Its fraud for one and the principal of the matter that you must provide goods and services if you expect someone to pay you for something. Have a great day! :D - debtpuncherDO NOT PAY THIS! - debtshiel replies to debtpuncher| 1 replydebt puncher, you initially broke the terms of the agreement. Why would they bother you if you kept to the original terms. They aren't asking you for anything they didn't give you or pay out on your behalf. So continue shopping at your buy here, pay here lots,
- Common Sense replies to jjLOL. If you had any sense you would realize that the collection industry put billions of $$ back into the economy every year!! And as far as a "small Hourly wage".. I know collectors who probably earn more than you. .
- Common Sense replies to chuff425You are completly wrong. Debt Collectors only have to disclose their identity when they speak directly with the consumer 806(6). How would you like if they called Aunt Mary and asked for chuff425 and Aunt Mary asked "whos calling"......... This is __ __ __ with ABC collection and were trying to reach chuff425 because he owes a debt......
- fredyes, they call often. many hang ups, but some callers leave msg. until i read 800notes, i wasn't sure of the company. caller rushes/mumbles/slurs words. mostly it sounded like CDC or CBC and usually the return phone number isn't clear.

- AngieI keep getting calls from this number also. I ran my big 3 credit reports to make sure there wasn't any fradulent accounts that I am unaware of. Nothing. I decided to call them back to set the record straight. They wanted me to give them my SSN. I told them they were the ones calling so need to prove to me that they have the right person. They told me that they'll keep calling until I give them my SSN. I'm not doing that!

- A Dose of Reality.the people on here preaching about "pay your bills and they won't call" have clearly never fallen on hard times. This number hasn't called me and I am currently not in default on any loans, but I still understand those who are having a hard time in this economy. Not everyone in default is lazy and bad with money. So those of you who claim to work for this company, don't get too comfortable being rude to these people who can't pay their bills. It could easily be you in their position. And by the way, if it wasn't for these people who are unable to pay their bills on time, you wouldn't even have a job. So play pretty...its all about checks and balances!
