- paperpusher replies to Dave from Utah| 3 repliesYou know, the majority of the posts I see on this site are angry strictly because they even received a collection call. The few that have valid complaints of unprofessional-ism are drowned out by the many who just flame the people that they consider unprofessional.
Consider this...Yes, Coface has some unprofessional employees, there are also lawyers, doctors, teachers and people in ANY walk of life that can be rude and hostile. So if I have contact with a rude doctor at Tulane, should I say that Tulane is a scam and try to have them shut down? No, I speak with that particular person's manager and file a complaint, then ask for someone a little nicer to treat me. Same thing here. I work at Coface, which is a fully licensed COMMERCIAL Collection Agency. Stop looking into Consumer Collections law and look at Commercial Collection Law for the state of Louisiana, where we are located. The laws are quite different. Yes we have some mean collectors, does that mean that I personally am rude and should lose my job? No. I'm not even a collector. I'm an admin. I don't speak on the phone or in person with any debtor, I don't even make the letters.
Now, maybe you have a valid reason for your debt, maybe you don't believe you have said debt. Flaming the company on the internet will not help you at all. Call in, speak with someone, explain calmly what is going on, whether you need time, want to make payment arrangements, or contest the debt. If the collector you get is rude, don't lose your temper, calmly ask for a manager, and someone nicer to speak to. Some of these people are just having a bad day by the time you get to them. They're cursed at and called names all day and they lose their temper with someone else for the smallest thing...is it right? No...but it happens. - KK is a [***] replies to KKNobody cares about you or your husband. Debt happens for a plethora of reasons. Don't tell people how to live their life first of all. You will get nowhere fast. Secondly, Don't call us ever again. And if some PI comes into my place of work, they should be aware that they are trespassing and I am a gun owner. Enough said.
- Bruno DiMarco replies to John G.| 4 repliesI love this, debtors telling debtors how to not pay bills. It is no wonder how our country got to where it is today. If you extend credit on product, service, etc. pay your bill. Why do you insist on being a deadbeat?
- drandt replies to paperpusherOK... so tell me how I get them to stop calling me and leaving messages. I have perfect credit and have never been late on a bill in my life. I am getting calls because they are trying to find my sister. I am on the Do Not Call List, which makes these calls illegal and they are calling my office and misrepresenting themselves.
I can't find a email address that works to file a complaint, so I will just keep filing DNC list compliants I guess. - B PAINTER replies to MasspectorI AM VERY INTERESTED IN CLASS ACTIONS LAWSUIT. THEY LEFT A MESSAGE CNA INCORPORATED 1-800-509-6060 X 225 PAUL GERBER IS "SUPPOSEDLY" CONDUCTING A ASSET AND LIABILITY INVESTIGATION AND TO CALL A KARA KIMBLE. - R replies to AlI believe doing that in front of customers without validating the debt, could be considering defamation of character. He could claim a monetary loss due to this act and sue both the PI and the company which hired the PI.
- STORMLORDE replies to Bruno DiMarcoI am a former collector, the fair debt collection practices act or title 8 came about because of wide spread abuses by debt collectors, caution in dealing with them is the course of wisdom not a simple desire to avoid a legitimate debt.
- stormlorde replies to sales rep cofaceVarious studies have shown that a more professional approach actually collects more money.
- stormlorde replies to HarleyActtually most collection people are reasonable profesionals, unfortunately idiots like these guys make a more lasting impression
- Jax replies to Garett TamplainAre you serious. Please have someone proof read your posts before you post them. If you are representing Coface, you should at least be able to form a sentence. Hard to believe that anything moves from your desk to an attorney.
- Jax replies to JennyCriminal charges can only be filed by the creditor and it has to be for a criminal action. A bad check, intent to defraud, or something along those lines. However, the collection agency can assist the client in processing criminal charges is they are warranted.

SCAMMERS, SCAMMERS, SCAMMERS. - Rob replies to this is hiliariousSHILL ALERT...SHILL ALERT....
I agree, you bogus posters trying to cover your butts and steal from people are just a riot. I laugh each and every time one of you calls me and gets an air horn blast in the ear. It's just hysterical, especially when you hear them drop the phone, or pull off their headsets and swear.
Too bad crooks like you can't get your chuckles elsewhere; really rather pathetic and sad.
A legit collection agent is a professional. You are, unfortunately, a total loser who is trying in their own feeble, tight-a$$ed way to make people fall for your scams.
No one needs to attack you. You sunk your own battleship. - Biz OwnerI just received a call with caller ID showing "Thomas Brenan" from phone # 917-292-1605 who stated that he was hired as a PI to conduct an investigation beginning tomorrow of the company assets and liabilities for a client named Mr Mike Ryan of CNA Inc at phone # 1-800-509-6060 x1220. The PI stated his name was Paul Gerber at # 917-254-3279.
So apparently they have updated some of their phone numbers to be different, but their scare tactics are all the same.
They don't even have the right person in this case.- Caller: Paul Gerber for Mike Ryan of CNA Inc
- Call type: Debt collector
