Read the law. If they are calling you regarding a collection then they cannot leave personal information on your voicemail! That would be 3rd party disclosure!

Obviously you owe a bill or they would not waste their time calling you. I do not think that they would be calling just to be a "nuisance"!

This is a collection agency that does work for hospitals and doctors offices.  I would say, call them, find out what the issue is, and then find out if it is legitimate.  I started getting calls from these folks after a hospital stay my son had.  The hospital billed it incorrectly, so bc/bs rejected it.  It took me 6 months, but I finally got it squared away, once bc/bs paid the hospital.  Funny part is, they tried to get me or bc/bs to pay them.  They told me, "Well why don't you just pay it, and get reimbursed from bc/bs?"  I told them there would be snow on the hills of hell before that happened.

I got a call from someone named Julie who asked for me, gave an address and asked if that was mine. I asked why she was calling and she wouldn't tell me until I confirmed my address. I told her that if she wouldn't tell me why she was calling then I wasn't going give hermy address. She said she would call back later and I told her not to bother if she wasn't going to tell me why she was calling. I don't owe any medical or hospital bills so I don't know why they are calling but I will not give my address to someone who won't tell me why they are calling.

Same calls as everyone else. I have outstanding credit and have never received anything in the mail regarding any overdue bills.  I'm suspicious "SOMEONE IN MICHIGAN" is somehow affiliated with this scum scam.  Notice how every comment seems to defend their calls or offer suggestions. (i.e. " I guess you have a debt..." and "read the law...").
Seems to be the only person in this forum (besides Melanie) who doesn't seem to have a problem with this "business". Makes you wonder what drew them to this site.  Maybe trolling for clues on how to better conduct their business rather than having computers dialing "wrong numbers".

I received the same type of call today...usually I do not respond to messages left on my machine from numbers I am not familiar with.  For some reason today I did.  It turned out they were looking for my ex husband. When I told them he hadn't been at this number for several years they said thank you and I would be taken off their list.

I received a call from 1-800-530-3790 on two occasions.  When I called back the number is was from L.J. Ross.  In my case, L.J. Ross a collection agency for Receiving Hospital in the Detroit Medical Center.  I contacted the hospital directly and found that the hospital used L.J. Ross for collections and processing of uncompensated care claims.  

I don't have health insurance and HAD TO GO TO Emergency at Receiving Hospital.  After 11 hours of being treated in Emergency and not being admitted, my bill was $10,710.00. I absolutely could NOT pay that astonishing amount out of pocket. The hospital turned the debt over to L.J. Ross and L.J. Ross sent me an uncompensated care application on behalf of the hospital. I filled out, certified and mailed the application to the hospital and now the hospital is in the process of adjusting the bill to a more affordable price or (hopefully) writing off the debt.  

As for my situation this phone number directs me to L.J. Ross which is a collection agency.

I have received similar calls.  One of their clients is WE Energies of Wisconsin.  I had some renters leave without notice and change the account to my name. We are disputing the amount with WE Energies since they did not contact us for permission.  They finally turned the matter over to LJ Ross.

Yeah, I get the same feeling about - "SOMEONE IN MICHIGAN", also.

They have been calling me also. They do not need a reason to call. It’s a shakedown, just in case someone does have a debt, or if they don’t to get their personal information. In other words, it is a phishing scheme and illegal.

Try calling them back at 517-784-0401. You'll actually get a real person instead of a recording.  This is a P.O.S. company asking for people who don't live in your house and say they are sorry for calling a wrong number and then call back over and over. It was actually fun asking the person that answered to speak to the head A$$.  The real solution is contacting the BBB, the FCC and even your congress-person.  The only way to get them to stop is reporting them. Unless you like to have fun and stay on the line and call them every nice name you know.  It waste their time so they can't call anyone else. Have a great day..

they call every month looking for someone different.  when i call them on it they back track.  once they tried to get personal information.  i told them i was on a do not call list and they didn't care.  once i went on a tirade and really blistered the bit.... and she said i was rude.  then the next month they do the same thing, looking for someone different. but i am getting an automatic dialer for the phone. they'll be getting a couple hundred calls in the very near future.  ;-)

I am thinking that maybe you work for the company??  I too have a message from them, and I have no collection issues.

I have been getting calls from this company also. I don't return there calls, because they don't say who the call is for. I'm not the only person who lives here, so who is the call for? I have been getting collection calls for an ex dauther in law, grown step children, grown children who don't live her, nephew's, they will call anyone they can get a number for.

i'm pretty sure you work for that company. i actually do have some medical debt, and got a call from these people... but there is no way i'm calling these people back because i got a call at work recently asking for someone i'd never even heard of. It's BS.

Just got a phone call from this company. I was pretty sure it was bs so I called them back to get my name taken off of the list. The lady immediately asked me if i was call from 248-xxx-xxxx, I said yes, she asked if my name is Caitlin XXXXX, I am, then she asked if I live at my address. Turns out it's about a REALLY old debt from Beaumont Hospital. I told her if she would send me something in writing I would be glad to pay it. She then asked for my employer- which I am NOT giving out, which is when she copped a HUGE attitude and said, "fine then the calls will continue".

I get calls from this number on a daily basis.  They say it's not a sales call and they want the last 4 of my SSN to verify my identity.  If this was really a collection company, they would have sent out a letter FIRST then called.  I've received no such letter.  I have perfect credit.  I have no outstanding bills.
