Don't be afraid.  This a collection agency that uses scare tactics and bullying to get people to react.  I figured this out after getting these calls on a regular basis with the same threats for three years.  Three, almost four, years later -- still no legal action -- no nothing.  Just keep hanging up.

Got a call on my cell phone from a 620-665-7178 from a Chris wanting me to call back at the 1800-542-1048 ext 275.  No mention as to what it's for, nor a company name.

Good to know it's probably bogus!

I received a call at my job today, January 16, 2009.  The lady said that I needed to return a call back to a Kay England.  She did not say what it was in reference to, or where she was calling from.  I have received this message numerous times and every time I call back the extension that is left, the phone line is busy.  You are required to leave them a message for them to call you back.  I keep getting harrassed with no resolution.  I do not know what to do, but I am not able to receive personal calls at my job, and my receptionist does not need to know my personal business by them contacting me numerous times.  Upon calling the 1-800 number back, the automated message does not even state who they are, but references that if I have been served with a legal court summons, that I need to speak to their legal department or dial the extension I am trying to reach?  Can anyone help someone who is concenred?

MY MOTHER CALLED ME UP AND SAID THAT A MAN NAMED JOSEPH CALLED AND LEFT A NUMBER FOR ME TO CALL. 800-542-1048.  I WAS ON MY CELL PHONE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND CALLED THE NUMBER.  A VERY RUDE LADY TOLD ME SHE NEED IT MY SOC.SEC.# I LAUGHED AT HER AND ASKED HER WHAT WAS THIS IN REGARDS TO.  SHE TOLD ME I NEED TO PAY A CREDIT CARD BILL.  I TOLD HER, I'LL HAVE TO CALL HER WHEN I GET HOME, BECAUSE THATS WHERE MY CHECK BOOKS AT.  SHE TOLD ME TO STOP WHERE I'M AT AND GIVE HER MY CHECK #.  I TOLD HER MY WIFE AND CHILD ARE IN THE CAR AND IT'S TO DANGEROUS TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY.  SHE SAID SHE DIDNT CARE, MY WIFE SEEN HOW DISTROUT I WAS AND TOLD ME TO HANG UP.  THE VERY RUDE LADY TO ME TO TELL MY WIFE TO BE QUITE, AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE ME SUED! FEELING FOR THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE AND CHILD, I HUNG UP ON HER.  IF ANYONE GETS A PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER, DO NOT ANSWER!

they're a sleazy bill collection agency.

I received a call at work from 620-665-7178 asking I call James Black regarding a legal matter in Travis County.   He left number 800-835-9313 to call him back with a cast number.  No company name was never mentioned nor did it come up on caller id.  I never returned the call.

Very rude. Called me at work.

whos more sleazy...the bill collector who follows the fdcpa and has to track down low life scum who hide from their debts....or the scum who dont pay their debts and hide and change phone #s and let their debts be sold to collection places like this? pay your damn debts before they get sold to these people!!! how stupid or you people?? then you come to sites like this and [***] about it and hide even more!! i had a few payday loans, called them, and they gave me a settlement and were very nice. i told the guy i had seen sites like this badmouthing them...he said they have new management and got rid of the hateful people. saved me $388 on my payday loans!! dont be stupid people...be nice...i was, and i saved $$ too.!!

I would really like these people to stop calling me at work and it home. The problem was paid off and they still are telling me no.  And they are very rude about it. How do I get them to stop calling.

I got a call from 800 542 1048, her name is Jerry something like these. I did not answer her call so she left a message "I have your file in my desk" "please call me back". I did not know why she called me. Then I called her back and it was a collection agency so I hung up the phone.

This company uses 2 different numbers: 620-665-7708 and 800 542 1048. If you receive call from these numbers don't answer. They are very intimidate and rude.

Riiiight, and you got good and scammed!  They kept the money and never added it to your credit!

hey idiot some people are in debt cuz they can pay it not even a cent. so your dumb comments are irrelevant to most of these poeple here. In Fdcpa these guys are clearly breaking the law. Maybe you should take a good look at it you might learn something. I mean i agree with you as far as talking to them but not all are like the dude you talked to. I had to make several calls in bout 2 weeks period to get 1 person i can talk to. Other than that i received threats and rude comments from them. I am in a spot where i cannot take care of this debt no matter what right now. And they not working with me at all. All i get is threats and rude people on the phone. Calling place of work violation threating to sue or take other actions violation asking for personal info such as SSN violation should i go on. There are guidelines and they need to follow them

This company is clearly violating FDCPA rules. They are not allowed to threat with lawsuits or anything else. They are not allow to call your work and most important ask to speak to your boss about your personal bussiness. They are not allowed to ask you for personal info such as SSN.When you call them up there is a message stating some bout in the event that you received a lawsuit from this firm etc. Thats just to intimidate people. Report these people to A.G. in your area if they call you with such comments or be as rude as they are. NCO and NCA and doing bussiness the same way and someone needs to put and end to this

They have been calling numerous times a day at work, at home etc. They don't want to say who or what they are calling for.

I got a message from this number 1 800 542 1048. There was a lady who identified her name as "Tiffany" who is looking for someone I have never heard of. She asked that the person call her back to resolve a matter. I was just curious as to who this Tiffany was calling my number and where was this person calling from so I searched the number and found all of the comments about who these people are and it was not good. I'm glad people are making others aware of these people. Not sure how they can be stopped but something needs to be done! I never talked to anyone from this place and kind of glad that I didn't. But I have a feeling they will call back so when they do I'll be ready to tell them who they really are!

National Credit Adjusters is the company that's calling everyone that has posted a comment here. They are a credit collection agency....

I got a call from 620-665-6111 about a "loan" they said I took out in 2001. I said that I never took out a loan with their company, and if they had any documents w/my signature, etc. I wanted to see them immediately. The woman(who never identified herself or her company) said, "too bad. we'll garnish your wages."
I called my boyfriend, who is a lawyer, and he called them back. They never returned his call, but I received a call at work today from 1-800-542-1048 saying the same thing re: the loan, wage garnishment, etc.
I'm not really worried because I know that I didn't take any loan out, but how do these companies get away with this crap?

I got a call from 800-542-1048 and they didnt leave a message, so i thought i would call back and find out who it was and what they were calling about. A recording came on immediately that said "if you've recently been served a summons from our office to appear in court regarding a pending lawsuit, please contact our legal outsourcing department."  I hung up before being connected to a representative because i was confused as to why i would be receiving a call like that...Is this legitimate or a scare tactic to make people stay on the line and get scammed?

I get at least one call a week from this number, and they never leave a message.  I screen any calls that I get, so until they leave a message; I will not call them back.  From the way it looks, I probably shouldn't call them back anyway.  I have no outstanding debts, so I believe they are just fishing for anyone they can find.
