This Company is RUNNING A SOPHISTICATED SCAM!! IF YOU EVER PURCHASE ON-LINE WITH A DISCOUNT COUPON, THEY GET YOUR NAME AND CREDIT CARD NUMBER, AND CHARGE YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION!!! THIS IS HAPPENING, INSPITE OF REPORTS TO THE LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, WHICH I BELIEVE IS A FEDERAL AGENCY, OR AT LEAST HAS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT.
WATCH OUT WITH RETAILERS (ESPECIALLY ON-LINE ONES) WHO MAY BE IN "CAHOOTS" WILLINGLY, OR UNWITTINGLY (UNAWARE) WITH/OF THIS SCAM COMPANY)!!!- Caller: TLG Travel

- mashhour Hammoudeh replies to FleecedTravel advantage 1(800)548-1116 is a scam company, they bill my credit card without me buying from them or give them permission to take from my card. be careful and stay away from this company.
- RyuCHb replies to Ripped OFFWhy did you charge me about 149.99 USD?
- DCThis Travel Advantage Co is a scam. I notice they had been billing credit card for months. I cancelled the service via the internet and they emailed me back saying the membership had been cancelled. A couple of months later I noticed I was still getting billed by them. I called by phone and ask for a credit on my account. They refused to give me a credit because I did not keep the cancellation number and they claimed they had no record of me canceling. I cancelled it again and kept the cancellation number. Again the next month I was bill again, when I called them back and told them I cancelled this membership. They again claimed it was never cancelled and they did not have a record. I finally called the my credit card company and got a credit and had them cancel the membership.
- Hopping Angry| 1 reply$64.99 was charged to my credit card on 1/16/09 though we have no record of this transaction.
The credit card statement says: TLG Travel Adv 4746629 800-548-1116 CT
Be aware! - Bill from West Virginia replies to Hopping AngryHi Angry...
Yes...They got me again for $59.99 listed on my card transactions as
Travel Adv. on 1/13/09 This number they listed was 800-548-1116
I checked my credit card billings back a few months and yes there was another charge that I had paid and overlooked...I'm sure it is the same people ...This charge was also for $59.99 and called "Great Fun"
It was also a Conn. number but different from the other 800-290-8603
I called and requested a new credit card number...once they have it
we're always going to be in trouble. I only wish I knew how they got it so I don't do it again!
Bill from West Virginia - localpdxladythis is a scam, and i was told i purchased it along with a discount for a hotel room, nice try. I haven't traveled in over 2 years and don't buy anything on the internet for good reason. Took 4 yelling requests to get it off and asking to talk to a supervisor is useless. The operators' know it is a scam and you directed to an auto-out program that gives you a cancelation code, what out they are trying to charge on a prorated bases. I can't even figure out how they got my card #!

- BevYes, they got me too! For only $1.00 I would be receiving a kit (never got the kit!) that was loaded with goodies. If I wasn't satisfied I could cancel within 30 days and there would not be any charge. After the 30 days it would be $15.99 per month. I DID cancel within the 30 day period and afterwards there was the charge of $15.99 out of my account. ( I did not give them my card number!!) I called to get a credit and guess what - you can't get through on either of the 4 toll free numbers I was given. So far there have been 3 charges one 1 credit (got through once) but today I called my bank to put a stop on any future debits. Big scam!!
- JP| 1 replyDitto on Travelers Advantage being a ripoff. Did the $1 thing like an idiot, they charged me $15.99 the next month. I called and cancelled. Believe it or not, they refunded the $15.99. Guess what, they snuck one by me last month and when I called this month to cancel AGAIN, they told me I was eligible for a refund. I called Visa (not my bank) who promised I wouldn't have pay; the Visa guy said they've had thousands of complaints. My question for Visa: why are you letting them post charges?!?!
- JPsorry, meant they said I WAS NOT eligible for a refund.
- sham on themThey got my mom for 69.99! She never uses the card they got so I don't know how they got it. She did recently check her credit report and you have to give your credit card for that and then cancle. Ugh! What a scam, taking money from a senior citizen who unable to travel.

- Michael R replies to JPGot hooked into the TLG thing renting a truck for business at Budget Sept. 2009. $1.00 and this never to appear welcome package with no questions asked cancelation option. Called to cancel when the double payments of $15.99 started appearing. Took a lot of time through calls and emails to get them to cancel my membership and refund the $$$$ that kept appearing after my cancelation request. One of their phone people even offered a free airline ticket - anywhere American Airlines flies - to keep the membership until the following month for what she called, "The last billed month of the two charges." No airline ticket and more double charges the following month. Finally got the cancelation but, only for the Traveler's Advantage membership because, I evidently need to cancel TLG Shopper seperately! I told them when canceled TLG Advantage that I wanted it to include any business dealings and memberships with TLG. Still getting the $15.99 double charges EACH month. The battle resumes.
