- JonI had the same problem. Dispute the charges with your credit card company and have them put a block on the company charging your card. The only place I've recently shopped with my card is the Apple Store and that was months ago, the month prior to the charges showing up. I haven't signed up for anything. I wonder if Apple is somehow involved or unknowingly involved even?
- Caller: TLG SHOPPER
- Preston replies to roberta elmoreIf you use a credit card instead of a debit card you can dispute any charges. The credit card company will stop payments and review the old charges. As with everything, people forget to read the fine print or it is hidden. Good luck everyone.
- TomI was trying to figure out why my dad's checkbook wasn't balancing out. Last week, I went to his bank and asked for my dad's checking account transaction record. Lo and behold, I found 2 suspicious unauthorized withdrawals from my dad's checking account. Apparently he got suckered into this via AOL with them offering him a free 3 month trial. Unbeknownst to him, after 3 months, they've been charging him. I questioned his bank and they pointed out the line was an 800 number to this scam company. I called and complained to Travel Advantage (ot whatever they call themselves now) and cancelled his account. They told me they will send me a confirmation stating his account is cancelled within 5 - 7 business days. We'll see. I found out they were making withdrawals out of his checking account the 28th of EVERY month since 2011. That's about $550 he's being blindly ripped off! Was my dad aware of this? No. No wonder he couldnt' figure out why his checkbook balance never matched.
I returned to the bank and expalined what I found out. The only thing they can do since my dad does not possess and credit card or debit card is they will put a block ($35 from his bank) on Travel Advantage to prevent further unauthorized withdrawals. A small price to pay for a piece of mind. - Pissed off replies to mccoolm60-[***] scam mer just posted that comment to make people think the company is worth a damn!
- Tsering dolmathat was very bad talking money without promasion two at a time. 03/04. TLG SHOPPER $19.99. 03/04 TLG COMPHME. $19.99. Ps don't trust them there lie
- kate replies to mccoolm60-Be careful. I cancelled my membership over the phone and it was actually cancelled for a month...then lo and behold the next month they started charging my credit card again.
- K Jon replies to Ripped OFFThey DO NOT bill your card without authorization. Im sure you provided verbal agreement (probably without paying any attention). Many people fail to not listen to the sales pitch. Once you said "yes" "ok" or "sure" then you have agreed to the terms.
- Joanie1222 replies to Ms KroghI only joined travelers advantage to get the $50 rebate. They claimed the rebate form was included in the email. NOT!! I cancelled right away
- hannah replies to bill rthis does not fix the problem. i had signed up to get the rebate and ended up having to get a new debit card in the next few weeks because i lost mine. did not bother to cancel membership because i thought they would not be able to charge since that debit card had been cancelled. i was wrong the only way to fix the problem is to call and cancel the membership. you should be able to get their number from your bank.
