FRAUD/SCAM: Call from 1-800-548-9554. Message left by "professional sounding" woman called Alex, claiming to be about a recent fraud on my Wells Fargo credit card. There was fraudulent activity on my Wells Fargo card a few months ago but I knew it was a scam call as she called me on a phone number Wells Fargo doesn't have. DO NOT CALL BACK. DO NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION. I called Wells Fargo and they confirmed this is NOT one of their numbers. Just received a call from this number. Caller ID said Wells Fargo. I answered but didn't say anything. Person on phone said they were calling about fraud on my account. I don't have any accounts.... So I waited silently for them to hang up. I then called local WF to get customer service number. They confirmed this is NOT a Wells Fargo number and asked me to report the phising.

This number is NOT Wells Fargo. I called and gave my info for them to say they got my number mixed up with Mickayla and sorry for the inconvenience AFTER receiving info. They knew the my county, home phone, and license plate. I know very stupid of me, but when I first called back this number it said you have reached Wells Fargo's claims service, which seems legit to me. However, i had a weird feeling about this so I called Wells Fargo itself and they search the number for me--keep in mind this number also left a voicemail for me to call 1-877-430-8125 with a given claim number. Wells Fargo searched Both numbers and are no way connected to the company in anyway therefore it is a scam. I have now since changed my account/card number and will be following up with the Federal Trade Comission and Creditbureau. DO NOT give your info this number....save yourself the stress plz.

I received a voicemail from Wells Fargo about a claim I filed, they even provided a claim number - there was no email or snail mail or in app messages regarding the claim. I called WF at their listed Fraud Protection number and they asked me to email the content and number to reportphish@wellsfargo.com

Yes, I call this number and ask for too much questions, SSN, atm full card number and even security code on back of the card and so on, I told her she sound like a scammer and I hang up

Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did call.

This is a LEGIT number from Wells Fargos, if someone has any questions about that or can't find this number from WF, please visit this. I don't know why so many people are so Paranoia and don't do any deep search.

Doing a search of the number will NOT guarantee that it is not a  scammer spoofing the number and pretending to be WF. Scammers make calls to panic people and cause confusion about a "fraudulent" transaction and then trick the victims into giving them account information.

Despite what is here from some responses, this is a legitimate number.  I received a call today, did not answer.  The individual left a  message regarding a claim I filed myself on April 1st for a card  dispute for Wells Fargo.  The link provided by the individual in the previous responses does not link to the correct page.  If you go to the regular wells fargo site and type this number in the search bar it will lead you to a page about it that lists the number specifically to the "Claims Assistance  Center."  In my case, I filed a claim on April 1st.  The representative I spoke with verified my claim number and who it was for.  This is a legitimate number however, remember in today's world people like to spoof numbers and it will look like they are calling from this number but they are not.  A great way to solve the problem is to just hang up and call your bank directly and say someone just called me from Wells Fargo is there an issue with my account or will you transfer me to your fraud/claims center?  This will solve the problem.  You know you are going straight to your source.  No ones else's. I did not call the number back using the number called from.  I called wells fargo and stated someone left a message about my claim and asked to be transferred.

It may or may not be a legitimate phone number for Wells Fargo but since phone numbers are spoofed all the time, one should never trust a caller to be who they claim. Yes, I know you stated that but it was over halfway through your overly-informative post & many people won't read that far. They'll just see your first sentence claiming this is a legitimate number & think it can be trusted.

As a Wells Fargo employee I can assure you the bank will NOT call you outside of normal business hours, they also will NOT ask you questions to verify your identity. These are people phishing!! If you read through the comments you’d notice the scammers are also posting on here assuring you how legit this number is. Pretty humorous if you ask me. If you received an email with this number also FAKE! Report to reportphish@wellsfargo.com. Wells Fargo will not send you links nor have you put in any information to “verify you”

Yeah he’s not an idiot. Called wellsfargo to verify this number and they confirmed it wasn’t one of theirs. They also said scammers can mask their real numbers with a Wells Fargo number
