Got a call from this number. Woman wanting to verify employment for someone at our office. She had his full name and social security number (I didn't provide them to her), also knew our company name and address. I think it may be regarding a loan application, we often get calls like that.

1-800-569-0633. This number called me using the right name but didn't tell me anything on the message except you need to call us back I told them it was the wrong number when I called back and they took me off the call list then they called my job.    Even if I owed money company's should not call jobs unless they want the person to lose there jobs and not be able to pay.   But have no idea who they are or what they want.   When I googled the number this page an a collection page came up.   Who are these people?

If you have student loans you haven't paid .. you might wanna talk to these people when they call. Don't be mad when your tax return is gone & you've been ignoring calls for months that could've prevented that from happening (:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I also received a message from a Scott Smith..I am sooo sure that is his real name...like I am really going to call you when you don't tell me anything about who you are or what the call is regarding!  Puhleez!

Very old student loan

I got the same call except from an Andrea Smith. I let her leave a voicemail but have not returned the call and do not intend to based on previous comments! Jeez! The extension she left was 1999583

Also likes to call from 877-244-7901.  30 year old loan. I have no job/income. I have a new husband who ain't paying my loan. And don't get tricked into signing up for $5 a month. This is just their way to validate the loan and harass you non-stop.

PS..the loan was $7000...they now want $36,000...if the US government really wants to help their citizens,  they would cut out all that extra interest/fees to give us a chance to repay these loans.

I have received 2 calls from this number. They never leave a message, and my caller ID shows up as 'scam/ fraud, debt collector'. All of my 'debts' are paid every month, so there is no reason for them to call me. Odd they never leave a voicemail, though, considering the other responses here.

A lady called, asked for someone named Crystal. I said wrong number, she said "Oh do you know her?" I said nope. I don't know a Crystal. She said "sorry to bother you". I've had worse debt collectors call.

Calls every day same time - 730pm ET. Luckily the Mr. Number app sends it direct to vm. I will never call them back.
