When the call comes in, the caller id shows the name Healthways, and the phone number 480-586-2951, but the recorded msg is asking for car and real estate donation to Veterans of America, and to call 800-669-0250. How can these thieves be stopped?

They are also calling under fake number 714 465-1111.  Please don't give.  Legit charities don't do robo calls.  By giving you are allowing them to divert more funds from legit charities.

getting calls about donating cars, etc. caller ID comes up as United Health but say they are Veterans. i had calls a long time ago similar to this. when you call back the man is very rude and the same person i spoke to a long time ago so i guess he keeps on running his scam. can't anyone legally go after him?

I, too, receive calls from this number nearly every day, sometimes twice a day. I am a cancer patient, housebound and this is quite an inconvenience for me. I have called their number back 3 times asking to have my number taken off their call list and each time they were extremely rude and hung up on me as I was speaking. Even if I had a vehicle to donate you can be sure I would never contact them.

Robocaller frequently calls, claiming to be soliciting donations for "Veterans of America". They ask for donations of your car, home or timeshare. The call came from 312-601-2163, yet left a callback number of 800-669-0250. Hope the people responsible have the opportunity to experience what it is like to actually be a veteran, or better yet, a POW-- one year for every nuisance call.

I smell a rat. Like others stated it was a robocaller asking for donations for real estate, timeshares, and cars. The prefix number on the caller ID said it was local call and came up as our town's name but was given a 1-800 number to call back to donate. I know there are no local Vet. organizations around here so I'm guessing it's all a scam.

    Will it ever end!
Same as all other complaints except caller ID no was 734-593-3077, and then call back no was the 1-800-669-0250. Using area code 734, is in my calling area. But never answer my phone any more on unrecognized numbers.  So many scam calls daily!  Seriously, if I had realestate or a time share I certainly wouldn't be donating it.

This "organization" has been calling my land line for days from different phone numbers and leaving the same message in voice mail, about looking for Donations for Veterans of America, and will take anything, timeshares, property, cars, etc.   After listening to the message three times before deleting, I almost was ready to believe they would take my first born if they could get money out of him/her.   The call back number was 800-669-0250.   I called it back and it never answered.   Now I just delete the message.   If I had a car, etc. to donate I would give it to a local charity, not to some unsolicited caller from who knows where.   The spammers are getting worse and worse these days.

Left VM by robo call.  Soliciting donation of car, real estate, time share to charity.  No ID of who is was.  Calling from invalid phone number.  When called 800#, identified as Veterans of America.

Veterans of America is NOT legit.  The EIN on their website does not exist, they have not filed a Form 990, and Charity Navigator shows them as not a 501c3.  SCAM!

Very rude man with unacceptable behavior who hung up on me. If they don't want your donation why are they calling us, just to be rude & see if they get a call back?

contact www.atlc.com and complain to them. the phone number was issued by that company and they should be aware of what this guy is doing. I told them he is running a scam and is one of the nastiest individuals I have ever spoken to on the phone. he has NOTHING to do with the VA.

This call came in on my landline (I am too cheap to get CallerID so don't know what the calling # actually was). The caller actually left a message, identifying themselves as Veterans of America, soliciting donations of cars/ property / time-shares / the fillings out of my teeth,  and gave the 800# as a callback #.

No charity shows up when i searched the Phone #. Plenty of reports of this phone # leaving nuisance calls, though...

I searched the 'web for "Veterans of America" (Duck Duck Go), actually found a website (the tenth entry or so on the list) for a NFP under that name, based out of Beverly, Kansas. What worries me is that the contact info does not include a phone # (this T/F # or otherwise) on any of the website pages.

Sorry, my spidey-sense says this is a scam.

They left a message saying that they were Veterans of America and asking for a donation.  I called them back at 800-669-0250 and asked to be taken off the call list.  They hung up.  I called back thinking this was an error.  Before I could even say anything, they answered "We just took you off the list. And you're calling back again. Are you kidding me?"  (That's a direct quote).  Then they hung up. Not sure if that was live person or an automated response.  Please close them down.
