This number calls constantly. 3-4 times a day the phone rings and we rush to pick up. The caller id says Unavailable so we wait if they leave any message but there aren't any. If there was something important my guess is they would leave a message.

There's seems to be new tactic with credit collectors. I am late on a Chase acct and am getting multiple calls daily from at least 3 different numbers. 800-933-6004, 800-424-5004 and 800-684-8429, who knows how many others. Nice tactics, harass people by hanging up constantly when your late on a stupid payment. Like one is determined to pay quicker when they treat us like crap. And we pay a fortune to these people, on a monthly basis, just to borrow money. I even had one of these callers ask for me and when I received the phone and said Hello, then they hung up.

Multiple calls a day, up to 9 pm.  Recording says "We have an important message for you.  All of our reps are busy, plase wait...."Who is HSBC and how can I report them and get these calls stopped.  I have stopped answering my phone.  If a call is important, a credible caller will leave a message.

I am a secretary, and we have received numerous phone calls from this phone number on our company's main line. I always hear the same thing "We have an important message...". Normally I hang up, but twice someone popped on the line immediately. I have told them twice today that the person they are calling for can not be reached at this number. Rather aggravating that I have to stop what I'm doing to answer a call like this!

These dipsh-ts have been calling me for 3 weeks asking for Hung Pham, a guy I've never heard of.  Same thing as you guys see, "Please hold for an important message" and then someone immediately comes on the line, but they don't leave a message if I don't pick up.  They claim to be HSBC.  For three weeks I've been telling them they have the wrong number and they politely say "Oh, we're sorry."  For three weeks I've been asking them to take me off their list and they say they have.  One guy said, "Oh, yes, there is a note on the account"...  I don't need a f-cking note, I need my number off the list!!

For a week and a half I've been reporting them to the Do Not Call list.  I hope the FCC reams them a new assh-le.  Today the caller said "I don't know what that is" twice when I told her I was on the Do Not Call list.  Right, a telemarketer doesn't know about the Do Not Call list?  Lying sacks.  Her supervisor said that they'd removed my number on March 8th but Hung Pham had added it right back, and maybe he had several accounts, and she'd check for me.  Riiiight.  Whatever.

It is always something if you have a business number they take it and bother you. Do not call lists only work with real comapnies. This is a joke company. Who cares? I just do not answer the phone. HSBC is a bank that makes loans but I do not have a loan with HSBC So? Why me?

Got a call from this number today on my cell phone the number of which is on the National Do Not Call Registry. I decided to answer it just for laughs and heard nothing (I have bad cell phone reception in this part of town - maybe that's a blessing.)

I've had a similar experience to the previous posts.  They won't stop calling 3-4 times a day.  I've told them to take me off their list and I've reported them to the National Do Not Call List.  They insist that I have done business with them, which is a lie.  I suggest that everyone complains to the National Do Not Call List, the FTC and your congess representatives.

These dumba$$es have been calling our house AND cell phones (BOTH cell phones) upward of 30 times a day between the 3 phones.  Every time I answer or my husband answers, we get hung up on or they ask for someone we don't know and when we say they have the wrong number, they hang up and within minutes are calling back on another line.  I have asked multiple times to stop calling and THEY WILL NOT STOP!

These people call me repeatedly - like 5 or more times a day.  After 4 tries, they switch to 800-684-8429.  So I'm late on my credit card payment.... by 8 days.  I get the same automated answer - "Please hold for an important message".  For fun, I keep the phone by me and hit ignore as soon as I see these numbers.  This sends the call directly to my voice mail.  I've had a couple of very funny voice mails of these telemarketers, loan sharks, whatever you want to call them talking to themselves!!  Won't they feel stupid when I pay my bill on Friday - only 10 days late!  Wait til I tell them to close my account for their horrible customer service!!!

1-800-684-8429 Seems to be a number that constantly calls starting at 8 a.m. and ends at 9p.m. "The Fair Debt Collection Practice Act applies only to the collection attorneys and professional debt collection companies they might hire. Original creditors are regulated by state law: however the major credit card companies follow policies that closely mirror those of the FDCPA and will comply with your request to stop phoning you at work and home, etc. just as if you are dealing with a collection service." (yeah right on this one, I have asked several times and want to know who to complain to about harrassing calls then) "If you believe you have been harassed by an original creditor, or that the original creditor has done something illegal or threatening towards you, then research your state laws on the subject and contact the proper authorities to file a formal complaint. Typically, the Attorney General in you state is the proper authority to contact." (www.bcsalliance.com/y_debtFAQ

My phone has several other numbers also on it some when you try to return a call it sounds as if disconnected or can't receive calls back. I agree does harrassing people and running their cell phone bills up make them pay any faster?
"If the debt collector does not comply with your do not call request you have to quote the actual law: The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that you stop phoning me at home and at work once I request that you do so. I intend to send you a certified letter tomorrow putting my no contact request in writing. If you continue to phone me, then I will file a complaint with the FTC and the attorney general." " If original creditor since credit card companies do not fall under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act then quote state law which governs original creditors but usually has similar provisions to the federal legislation.
Ex: (Name States) law requires you to stop phoning me at work, home, etc once I ask you to. I am officially requesting that you not phone me at home, work, etc. If you need to communicate with me then do it in writing. I will send you a certified letter this week officially asking you to stop contacting me by phone. Yet if the status of your account changes they have a right to call you 1) giving up collection efforts; 2) turning your account over to an attorney; or 3) are going to sue you.
According to this site where this information was taken once you ask they stop they usually do. (Come on do these people who wrote this live on this planet? Creditors will tell you they don't care they have special rights and don't fall under any jurisdiction, actually I have been told this one).

It's not a scam in the sense that people are pretending to be creditors or some such and stealing information.

If you are receiving calls from them, and they are asking for someone, what they're probably doing is something called skip tracing: they've lost contact with a debtor and no longer have a good phone number, so they start looking for phone numbers belonging to people with similar names/last names.

If they call acting like you're the debtor or this is their number, know that this is what they're trained to do. Supposedly, acting this way will put the actual debtor off guard and trap them into the call.

If you are not the debtor they're looking for, hold your ground and tell them that you are not so-and-so, you do not and have never known so-and-so, and you want your number taken off their calling list. They have to do this, even if they think you're lying for whatever reason.

If you still have problems, here is their US site: http://www.us.hsbc.com/1/2/3/personal. There is a Contact Us link above the Online account access box on the right hand side. It includes the customer service line and mailing address for HSBC Bank.

I am sorry to say I am another person this bank is trying to scam. I do not have an account with this company. I have tried to stop this both in writing and by speaking to a supervisor. To no avail. After doing more investigations and filing numerous complaints with the Do Not Call registry and FTC, I have discovered that this bank is one of the worst companies in the business community. They never follow the law and they try to steal your information to create an account under your name. RED FLAG!!! This company has several complaints investigations from the FTC, BBB, FCC, and now several attorney general offices concerning their practices. Their tactics are illegal and you need to call their hand on this. They ask for your personal information, which they already should have if you have an account with them. Hello!!! Seems like a job for 60 minutes or Dateline. Consumers beware!!! Do not let this company have their way. Every chance you deny these criminals any success makes them that much closer to going out of business. Stop this crime now!

This number 800-426-1075 calls my place of business every day (sometimes more than once a day).  They are calling for a former employee.  I have stated to them everytime that they call that the person no longer works for our company and to please stop calling this number.  The next business day I receive the same call asking for the same former employee.
