- Mission BellI'm not familiar with this number, but we get calls around the the same times every day. We deal a lot with poor people. Some of them find some success, get over confident, and then financially "face-plant". Some get ill and end up with hilariously expensive medical bills, or even die. We have people for whom the system doesn't work well. So creditors call up and we tell them that our phone is not a private phone. The people they are looking for are dead, have moved on, or are not available. Their response? 'We can call anyway because you're not on our DNC list...' and then starts their aggressive psychological warfare. I have no way of knowing for sure who uses various numbers to call us like clockwork, but I have read from various media that all it takes is a little money and knowhow to fake a number and phish for private information that can harm you or others. If you are able to pay off your debts, you should either call your original creditors or hire specialists who will do so without having you dragged through the mud in court.

- LEW replies to T DHSBC and Credit One have been taken over by Capital One. So if you have a card with them, they may be contacting you for that account.
- Bob replies to SarahI'm a 13 year old guy who has no intentions whatsoever with any banks, yet this bank and another similar one just won't leave me, of all people, alone.
- JerryDo not pay any attention to those that take up for the dirt bag collection agencies. They either work for them or they must have brain damage. No matter what the laws say, the dirt bag collection agencies will not abide by them or find away to try and get around the laws. Some file reports to the FTC but this does not seem to stop them. Think FTC is scare of the dirt bags. Send in a form which which can be got online free of charge or be sure and send everything certified or else the dirt bags will claim they never got it. Or if the harrassment is very bad, keep track of everything, have witnesses, and proof of letters that you sent to these dirt bags and file a law suit. People have won judgement against these dirt bags but you have to have alot of proof. Start with sending a letter to them asking them to stop the harassent first, then if this does not work, file a law suit. Probaby can get legal help on line for little or no charge.

By the way, I got this call today, I answered it and told them they owe me 2000 because I was in the middle of creating a 5000 piece of art in my toilet bowl. And they can expect the bill in 3 days.

- tiffany replies to NinaIt's CitiBank, who bought HSCB, attempting to "collect a debt," as in they don't want you (us) to have the HSCB credit cards anymore because they don't make profit off them. I receive the calls 10-15 times per day and my card is current. My guess is until we cancel our old HSCB cards or they expire, we'll be getting these calls.
- Patrick replies to joeyFight the power Joey! I like how you think.
- Susan replies to kottonmouth420Maybe they all just have a bad situation they are trying to get out of. I know that is my problem and calling
me every hour on the hour or maybe more is not helping me concentrate to get out of the mess. I make payments maybe just not what they think they shoud be so calling just upsets me to where I can't really figure out what to do.. But I agree MOST BILL COLLECTORS ARE SLIME BUCKETS and are probably in the same shape as most of us in this stupid suck a...s economy. Not having a job for 2 yrs and gas being 4.00 a gallon, groceries getting higher and higher every week, utilitiy bills and gas bills, it's easy to get into a mess. I'm glad that some of you are so perfect that you do not have any problems... GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!! - StampmanAfter receiving numerous calls I looked up this number that's what brought me say this. I never understand how one human can cause such pain and stress. Debt collectors are the lowest form of human alive. They thrive on the pain of others. Just like those people that foreclosed on those people's home illegally . I agree there are some people that are just crooks and the credit card company's have a right to get their money back. But their are far more scum working as collectors than there are scum trying to steal money from banks. They could be nicer to people and try to work with people having a hard time. I thought President Obama was going to make an effort to help people who are effected by the crapy economy. But nothing did he do! I don't believe in heaven or hell but I do see karma at work. Debt collectors you have one life only and the bad way you treat people will come back on you! Get another job that you don't have to mistreat others or you may find the cloak of karma wrapped around you!

- Greg U| 1 replywow, this place is crazy with people calling each other out. I do agree that this is the only company that if your late , calls about ten times a day and everyday of the week. It makes me not want to pay because of how rude they are. They call and it goes to voice mail and they turn around and call two more times within minutes of each other. That is horrible debt collecting and a way to handle a business where customer service should be a top priority. The calls have annoyed me to point of not making a payment so I can hang up on them ten times a day.
Oh well what do you do.- Caller: HSBC

- Kevin replies to Brenda| 2 replieshating on people who accept debt collection as a job is naive... people need an income and especially in poor economic times, accepting a completely legal job collecting debt from people have foolishly built up an unmanageable amount is nothing worth wasting your hate on. The person on the phone is just an average Joe who goes home and has a beer while watching his or her favorite sitcom, they aren't the reason you owe money and they're not the reason you're getting calls, they're just trying to earn enough to cover rent and put food on the table. I am not a debt collector but a friend of mine is and I think it's got to be a rough job being hated on by everyone when all you're trying to do is earn a living.
- Elspeth replies to TerIf people legitimately owe a debt, yes, they should pay. However, many of these people don't even owe to debt collectors and they're still getting calls! So how the h*ll are they slackers? Lots of people do pay their bills, so take your self-righteous BS elsewhere!
