One more tidbit to add: Who is paying for the longdistance phone call all the way from Maryland to Oregon. Not considerate of other party's phone bill. This is obviously no 1-800 phone number its a  301-882-9927 number.

    Fun!
The owner is Chris Shuler of 2768 Grey Moss Pass. Give his house a call at: 770-622-6447 and express your displeasure. If he tells you to stop calling, tell him you'll remove him off your list; just like his company did.

His wife is Laura. Her cell phone number is 770-265-2239. You can ask her to pass a message on to him, too.

I received a call on my boss's phone today.. I work for lawyers.  After checking this site.. I called them back.. they were looking for someone with the same name as my boss.. but a different birthdate.  I explained that we're a law firm and she finally decided to listen to me and remove the number.  Crazy!!

Thanks for this advice.  But what if I do owe that money?  Will they then try and sue me to get a judgement? Its for $130,000!  Wasn't my entirely my fault.  I had a 3rd party sell my Rolls Royce Phantom and they "sold" it to a guy who basically stole the car by attempting to change the registration and clean the title.  They caught the guy.  But the finance company repoed the car from me b/c this happened.  They sold the car at auction and the $130,000 is the difference between what I owed and what they sold the car for.  Nightmare.

I called today and told them that I am not the person they are calling. They asked for the phone# being called and verified the name they were asking for. I again reiterated that I was not and did not know that person. They apologized and said that they would take my name off their list... we will see

NEVER under any circumstances give ANY information to a debt collector.  Their job is to make you mad so you say something stupid.  Even if they say they are looking for someone else, they may be lying.  DO NOT tell them anything.  You can tell them to put it in writing.  If they do not know where to mail it to you, good.

    Really T'd Off!!!
I've had my cell phone number for five years now and for the past six months I've been getting phone calls from 1-800-732-6606 on a daily basis. They are sometimes leaving a message looking for someone whose name I can barely pronounce, let alone spell. I did answer the phone call once and it was a recording that if I wasn't so and so to hang up, and I did...yet the calls continue at all hours of the day and night at least 5 - 15 times a day. I tried calling them back and it just rings and rings and rings and rings and rings! I am on a do-not-call list as well. These people really need to get their facts straight before starting these annoying calls. Isn't that considered harrassment???!

I got this number off my cell phone and I am annoyed that they would try to reach me there.  They don't leave a message and I am tired of these jerks calling my cell phone.  I will place their information on the do not call list.

Just so you know, it's against federal regulations for ANY business to hide their phone number from caller i.d.  If you don't know who it is.... don't answer.  Don't have your name on your answering machine.  If you do happen to answer the phone, NEVER use the word "yes".
Someone wrote a while back that the "statute of limitations" was so-and-so years... there is no statute of limitations on uncollected debt.  They don't have to remove it from your credit report EVER if they know where you are.
Bottom line... if you don't know who is calling ...DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE... DON'T HAVE YOUR NAME ON YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE OR VOICE MAIL.  and finally....IT IS WORTH THE MONEY IT WOULD COST YOU TO HIRE A LAWYER OR A CLEAN CREDIT AGENCY TO GET THESE PEOPLE OFF YOUR BACK !!!
FYI... this is not for deadbeats... this info for people who have paid their bills and are being hounded for extra charges credit card agencies like SEARS will NEVER  give up on... whether is $100 or $10,000.

Where did you get the WRONG information about the Statute of Limitations ??  Who ever told you this BS did not tell you the truth and was probably a collection agent - which I believe you are probably one yourself based on the INCORRECT information you have provided and you use "This is not for deadbeats"

So your getting calls about a debt and now are unhappy that you are being treated the same way you treat those you contact - ENJOY IT..

YES THERE IS A STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS ON DEBT  and its based on State Law and is not the same as the 7 year reporting period for Credit reporting.   Once a debt passed SOL for the STATE you live in - YOU CANNOT BE SUED for it  and have NO LEGAL OBLIGATION TO PAY IT.

IF a collection agency tries to sue on an SOL Debt many do BECAUSE THEY KNOW MOST WILL NOT SHOW UP AND DISPUTE THEM.  PASSED SOL IS YOUR DEFENSE - their case will be thrown out.  You can countersue them for FDPCA violations as well.

Some agencies will falsify things to make it appear a more recent debt - its called RE- AGING and ITS ILLEGAL to do so.   the only reason they get away with it because most never FIGHT ILLEGAL COLLECTION ATTEMPTS.

ITS ILLEGAL TO POST INVALID TRADELINES ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT.  ANY AGENCY THAT KEEPS PUTTING INVALID DEBTS ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT IS BREAKING THE FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT..

NO they cannot legally keep things on your credit report - its up to YOU to dispute those - AND YOU CAN SUE FOR FAIR CREDIT REPORTING VIOLATIONS.

They used to call me everday at least 5 times a day. They found my parents that live 2400 miles away from me and started harassing them. Now my parents have changed their #. They then found me at work and started calling me there. In turn, I called them back to see what they wanted. Apparently my ex filed bankruptcy and I cosigned a car for her and now they want me to pay for the car. They said I owed $14,000 but when I told them no I wasnt paying it, they immediately said they would settle for $4,000. I got laid off so I don't have that kind of money!!!! I told the woman that and she said to pay her when I get my taxes. Hello?! What taxes?! I got laid off and I'll need whatever taxes I do get. So I quit answering the phone about 6 months ago. They started calling throughout the whole day. Now I get a call from them about twice a week. I don't ever listen to the VM or answer the call. I'll soon be switching to a different carrier and moving. The best thing to do is ignore them. They can't chase someone who isn't there.
