- Bren Vwhy dont they leave a message though ??
it's silly if they want us to donate... at least leave a message...- Caller: Red Cross
- paulyeap, that number called my parent's house looking for me.
googled the number and here y'all are.
thanks for the info. - Mallory replies to TylerI wish I could "like" comments on here instead of just replying or "!".
Anyway.... There are lot of posts on this thread I'd like.
Yay for giving blood! - Red| 1 replyI was just reviewing my bank statements and caught this phone number on it. They have taken $200 out of my checking acct. I can assure you that HAVE NEVER granted anyone permission to take this money. I can't afford it! I am pursuing it.
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- EricAnnoying as hell... Red Cross 3 Calls a day every day of the week. The hell is wrong with these people?
- AmyI get this phone call ever single day.. its getting really annoying.
- Kristen BaldwinPlease take me off your call
- Caller: Sprint
- Marigot replies to RedRed, have you any more info from your bank? Red Cross has always left me a message, the calls from this number only ring twice & they never leave a message. Very weird. But the bank thing is scary!
- JeremyEvery few weeks they call me for several days in a row. More than any other call center I've seen, they keep calling. I happily donate blood, but they can be somewhat annoying.
- Caller: Red Cross Blood Donation
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- HI hate to say this, but don't make the mistake of donating blood. If you do, they will keep calling you every few days and hounding you to make another donation. Even if you let them know when you last gave blood and aren't even eligible, and even if you are already signed up for a blood drive, they will not stop.
Even if you ask to be put on their "do not call" list, they say that they will, but they won't. Please warn people that if there is a blood drive in your area, they should stay away at all costs unless they can donate without giving a phone number.- Caller: American Red Cross
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- WayneI got a call from them. I called back and I asked them to take me off their list/put me on their do not call list. They promised they would. It's not the first time they promised. This times things were different. Instead of getting a call a few days later, my next call was less than an hour later asking me to give blood. I don't want to be called every few days. I don't want calls and hangups. I don't want to pay my cell phone company for calls that the Red Cross makes to me because they are not willing to leave a message when calling my home phone.
It used to be that they could use my number to call me in case of an extreme shortage or emergency. Now the only choice I have is to fight to get them to stop calling me completely.- Caller: Red Cross
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- H replies to Sue| 1 replyWhat good would that do? If they ring your land line three times and then call your cell phone, you still get called. If you give up your land line, you might have to pay to answer their call, only to have them ignore your request to stop calling.
- H replies to Mal-zoidWrong! You can go through this thread and count the number of people who asked them not to call again. It doesn't work.
- H replies to Tyler| 2 repliesNo, you are not right. There's nothing selfless about calling people who don't want to be called. There's nothing selfless about pestering people who have been donating regularly for decades and doing it to the point that they stop donating completely. There's nothing selfless about being rude and disrespectful. There's nothing selfless about calling people and hanging up after a few rings. There's nothing selfless about calling people who asked not to be called. There's nothing selfless about calling somebody after two weeks who told you to call in three months. There's nothing selfless about extreme arrogance, especially including yours.
But if anybody decided to donate blood because of your post, I'd love to hear about it. Anybody? - H replies to LucyI just called the Ombudsman's office after getting my third call from the RC today. The number you gave let me leave a message. I urged them to Google their own phone number and see what they find. I suggest everybody reading this thread do the same. It's a free call. All you need to do is leave a message letting them know what their organization is doing. If enough people call, somebody will have to do something.
Calling and leaving a message is a better use of your time than leaving a message here. Leaving a message here will help let people know that the problem isn't getting better, but chances are that for each person posting here, there are many times more who are merely reading the posts. Those are the people who need to call the Ombudsman's office and leave a message.
If by any chance you are from the Ombudsman's office, keep in mind that for each call you get, there are probably hundreds more who are not calling you but have the same problem. Perhaps you could post your home phone number here so we can call you if there's a further problem. We promise not to call again once the problem is fixed. - H replies to LucyFor those who don't want to speak to them directly, here's how to get in touch with them:

Our office is located at 1730 E Street, N.W., Suite 113, Washington, DC 20006 - buzzIf they contact you and you have never donated its because a friend or family member put your name and number down thinking you would be nice enough to donate
- Molly replies to H| 1 replyI donate regularly to the Red Cross however, I am close to stopping if the Red Cross does not stop harrassing me. I received four calls today, the last one at 10:30 PM and not once was a message left. I was woken from a deep sleep. I find it completely unacceptable that an organization such as theirs calls this late...
- sucked dryOMG these calls have got to stop. Someone else gave them my phone number but they refuse to remove me from their call list because my name is not the name they have on their list.
I now HATE the RED CROSS and will never ever donate anything to them. There are plenty of other ways to help without being constantly harrassed and talked rude to.
They have become a blood sucking telemarketer.....Its all about the money for them now...yes, they SELL the blood.- Caller: American Red Cross
