Yup - its Chase Bank (American?) for Sears Canada.

I knew it was past due (10 days) but was out of town and couldn't get around to it.  They called my cell # relentlessly day and night until I finally answered.

I was PO'd - Sears can't afford to lose anymore business, but I paid the bill off, cancelled the card and won't be shopping there anymore.

Now that you know the number it is very simple to block this number. Sears Canada have been running downhill for several years and you can expect them to either close in the near future or get taken over by another American company. Selling their credit card division was a huge mistake and is much like selling your only cow then having to buy the milk. This company has been an example of bad management over the years with the result they have no future. Like The Bay and other old fashoned retail companies their days are doomed. Chase is a credit card company and the way you collect debts is to beat the creditor into submission. The people that collect cannot find any other work and need their jobs. When they call, simply place them on hold. Never talk to them!  This is a 30 per cent interest card so the clock is always ticking. This interest rate should be outlawed but you will not find any government action to make changes. Hit them where it hurts, stop shopping at Sears and encourage all your friends to do the same. Vote for the NDP at the next election, they are the only ones interested in credit card interest regulations.

I have a brand new card - less than a month old, JUST got my first bill last week, but have been getting calls 3 times a day for 2 weeks already.  And no messages ever left.  They couldn't be calling me 2 weeks ago for a late payment if I hadn't even gotten my FIRST bill at that point, could they???  Think I'll pay it off, cut it up and block the number.   I can live without the harrassment thanks.

Calling from Future Shop Credit card (handled by Chase).

They offered us a 3 months no payment option on our HDTV and they lie about our promotional period is finish early, the bill say up to 2/18/2011 (that is like still 2 weeks), absolutely ridiculous, they are lairs and will not do business with them again.

Cancel all Future Shop Credit Card

You are quite right about the abusive credit card rates, almost 30%!!  Credit rates have never gone down, while interest rates have been a fraction of that they are for many years now.
Good point -- why didn't the government do something about that??

It is illegal to call customers after 9 pm. You can actually charge them for phoning  you before or after certain hours. And yes I have been getting these calls, they are very annoying and I always have my bills payed on time. Just pick up the phone and don't hang up, they will tire of this after awhile. they seem to be a horrid company, and the employees seem to be very simple and compulsive, my  2 year old has better composure.
Chase is going to have to learn class and respect for their customers, as well as empathy.
Grow up Chase & Chase  Employee's because I like Sears and if you piss me off, the first step will be closing my account,  you seem to be losing alot of loyal Sears Consumers.

    ANGRY!
These people are a JOKE!! I was overdue by $10.00, new bill came, minim,um payment was due and paid YESTERDAY!! these people call repeatedly my house and cell with no number left.   I called today and b*tched them out.

I asked if they would lower my interest rate to help me in paying them off sooner as I am not working and alos have a substantial bill that I am paying to CRA (obviously my priority), she said we need your financial records and have to pull a credit report.  I basically told her, no one els does this, I have had many interest rates dropped and never had to encounter this convoluted process.  I then told her to record in her system to STOP calling me with their automated system and next time leave a damn message.

Stupidly annoying!  I really hate these guys.  I am going to call back and ask for a supervisor, someone higher up that speaks English and actually knows thier job not reading it from a script like that chick was.

Sears can kiss my ass.  I get called advising that there is a problem with my Sears Credit Card Security.  Sounded like the call was originating in Nigeria by the accent.  Wanted personal information to verify who I was.   Fcuk off and hung up.  I called Chase who confirmed that my Sears card had been paid off 3 months ago andthe account was closed.   I did not owe anything.  She did confirm that this number is a Chase number.
Sounds like a scam.  Maybe Chase had a major breach and theft of information and scammers are now calling people and spoofing a Chase number.   The lady advised not to give them any information if they called back, like I would.   If they call you do not give them the time of day but advise them that if there is a problem, they have your address and to send you a letter and you will deal with the matter.
