- Pissed off at them| 3 repliesI got a call from them. They told me they were "Chase". I asked to speak to a supervisor and then the phone went dead for a minute. Finally it started rining again and the supervisor was there, but she had no idea why I wanted to talk to her. Finally I was able to drag some info out of her, the company was "Chase Services" when I asked for more information they told me they couldn't give me more info becuase of "Privacy laws".
They just left an 800 number for my mom to call back, telling me it was "Personal and confidential". Very invasive and actually slightly scary phone call. These people should not be operationg the way they do.- Call type: Debt collector
- sala girl called sayin she was from chase services and looked for my dad. when asked if she could leave a message, she said she can't because it's confidential. such scary statement. what's this?

- Mike| 9 repliesI received two calls from this 800 799-4424 number asking for my wife but would not disclose who they were other than Chase. The young girl on the phone was very rude and if this in fact is Sears Credit as another writer indicates than Sears should immediately revoke the contract.
I instructed her to remove us from the list but she called back.- Call type: Telemarketer
- TonyThey called my Moms place and asked for me. They left this number 8007994424 and when I returned the call, expecting Sears because I have been trying to contact them latley, they said chase. I said sorry I got the wrong number and they responded " no, we will call you back". weird huh?

- zipperhead| 1 replyThe calls are from the collection department for chase card services which now owns the sears private label card - I used to work for them so here are some tips.
Take the call - if you owe the money you'll have to deal with it sooner or later anyway and once it goes to an outside collection agency you're screwed. The debt is your problem but read on if you want your credit history restored. This only works for the sears club card , if you have a sears mastercard you still have a shot but your odds of success will be lower. If possible try to get the vancouver office when you call. Call the card services line and not the collections dept when you call.
Tell them you thought you were paid off because you have not gotten any statements for at least two months before you went into arrears. If you owe a largeish amount then you will have to also claim that you sent a large cheque for the full balance (if necesary you can call back later and say you checked with your bank and found out the money went to another company -"I just found out I have a $2,000 credit at the phone company" - that kind of thing. They do not send statements when the balance is zero or you have a credit.
If you've moved tell them you changed your address at the store (and through the catalog if you have ever made a catalog purchase). The credit card is owned by a different company and most people do not know this so they have no choice but to believe you.
You will have to make a payment (after talking to them) to *prove* you acted in good faith but it can be negotiated depending on why you defaulted in the first place. You can also negotiate to have part or all of any interest (since you defaulted) credited back but that will depend on chance as much as anything but trust me you should go for it.
The communication at chase sears division is at total breakdown and there is no functional training in place - simply declare that their mailing problems are not your fault and you will pay just as soon as you get a statment and that you want your credit history updated because of *their* mistake. If you are too calm they will not take you seriously. DO NOT talk too calmly, but try not to be too abusive to the operator either, these are just poorly trained people with crappy management- and we've all been that person one time or another. If the first person does not offer to clean up your history hang up and call back a few hours later, and comment on the rude service you got when you tried to get this fixed earlier. If this second person does not offer to clean up your history ask for a supervisor. By this point if it has not already been done, you will have a 90% chance that they will update your profile and clean the credit bureau report. Sears cleans up credit reports twice as often as any other credit company and they are the only ones who will do it as *goodwill*. It is illegal (for them) to clear a payment/arrears history for any reason other than billing error but they do it anyway. They are currently in the process of being audited for it but no one is taking it seriously.
good luck- Caller: chase/sears card services

- miffedI received a call this afternoon from 'Annie' from 'Chase'. She was asking to speak to my spouse. As he was not available I asked who was calling and what it was regarding. She was quite rude in her response. She would only state that it was personal and that she wanted him to call her back. I have seen the most recent 'Sears' statement and know that my spouse is not in arrears, nor does he owe much money. Perhaps if Sears is inclined to treat it's customers in such a fashion it does not want customers. I will not be asking my spouse to return 'Annie's' call. I am also considering cancelling my Sears account and asking my spouse to do the same. There are many options available to us in this day. We do not need to accept shoddy treatment. This number shows up on my call display often. I thought it was yet another telephone solicitor until I checked the number a see all of the other reports on this number.

- miffed againAn update from my recent report...Chase called again. My spouse advised them that he paid the balance on account (which they confirmed). He advised them to cancel his credit card with Sears. The response, they can not do this. He still owed 12 cents on credit (it seems interest must have very recently been charged). I imagine now they have good caused to repeatedly call our home and harrass us. He owes 12 cents.

- Driven to Insanity| 1 replyConstant calls for 8AM to 9PM. Sometimes a person answers, sometimes a machine answers after a few seconds of nothing, sometimes there is no answer at all. Unfortunately, I am at home and get to listen to this all day. They ask for my mother, but won't give me any details at all--not even who they work for, what their company does, etc. (Although I know thanks to this site). The people are more often than not extremely rude and hilariously "official" in their speech. They'll phone you to the point of harassment if you owe them so much as a penny. Sears needs to find a better way of doing business.

- Sad Panda| 1 reply#1) The automated message took 6 seconds to start
#2) The VOIP lines they're using cut in and out so much I didn't even know what company was calling
#3) The person that was talking to me sounded so depressed I thought she had her head down on the desk with her eyes closed, and some how she still managed to sound snobby and rude.
If these guys are contracted by Sears, I think they should find a new company.- Caller: Chase
