Received a collection letter from First National Collection Bureau, Inc... said I owe money and gave the phone number (800)824-8191. I know this is a scam because my credit record is good!

For one Jake! according to Credit Karma if a credit company sells an account off to a 3rd party then this makes one not liable to the debt any longer as the contract withthe original company is void.

they wanted a direct TV debt from me.  in Georgia.
never lived there and never never had the direct TV.[like cable]
they call every day at home and cell and hen at work, there is another man with the same name and they have been calling him also. one has to pay. you all are scum. no money borrowed and still harassed. Talked to legal at work and they keep them self shielded pretty good. NEVER use US mail they don't like postal inspectors.

Automatic voice message that asks for a "Mindy Wheeler" and to press any buttons to continue if you are this person. If you give no response then it automatically hangs up on you. Scums.

Received a call from this number 6/14/17 at 5:11pm Pacific.  Did not answer, there was an 11-second voicemail left but the voicemail was just static.

These guys dropped a VM on my phone giving me some reference number and their website.  The VM did not give any information as to who they were trying to reach.  The website won't let you type in the reference number without first registering and the PII they want to register you includes the last 4 digits of your SSN, so you have no way to confirm if they even have the right phone number before interacting with them.  Very fishy.

They call but I don't answer the phone.  I don't owe anyone money and my credit score is over 825.  It is probably a family member who used our phone number as a contact.  Shame on them, didn't have my permission to use the number.

Received call from this number.  Called back.  They were calling on acounts from 2008.  Advised him both were timed barred debts and any futher collection attempts would be violation of federal law.
