- LDHas called our number twice today. The second time I answered. She didn't identify herself immediately asked for person that doesn't live here.
- johnA woman from this number just called my cell phone looking for my mother related to a personal matter. My mom has been dead since 2014 and no unpaid bills !!!!
- Sharon replies to Sean palmoreThey just called my cell. Did not leave a message. I have never been to Carolina either. I just added them to my blocked list and went about my day :)
- MikeRecording asking to "Please stay on the line, someone will be with you shortly" ... then it just hung up.
- Caller: Robo call
- DianaGot calls from this number, never left voice message, didn't answer if I picked up
- Fed-Up in 618called my voip number. funnier then i dont know what since i just got this number and it is not even local for me.
- Joseph MearsI too received a call from this number and I did not answer. However I did check the number and saw a bunch of references to PSNC which happens to be my old natural gas supplier. I moved in Oct 2016 and terminated the gas service at my old address on Nov. 30 2016. In reviewing
my records, I found that I had paid nothing to PSNC after Oct. 22. Sure enough, when I checked my old PSNC account online, I saw an unpaid
balance which I paid in full. I hope this ends the matter but I am upset that PSNC did not follow my instructions to send a final bill to my new address and the postal service failed to forward it to my new address. I think these people are straight up but how the devil are we to know when practically all such calls are phony telemarketers or scamsters of some stripe. If you get a call from this number, don't ignore it. I'm not saying you should answer them or deal with them. Just review your own situation and act accordingly if you discover, as I did, that a legitimate debt is
the reason for the call. My own method is to contact the owner of the debt directly but to each his own method. P.S. The caller id showed
"Toll Free Call". That is not a good way to get me to answer the phone.- Caller: Toll Free Call
- Call type: Debt collector
- DaveAppears to be calling everyone with the same name everywhere in the country to get payment on some minor old debt someone with that name may have. Very annoying and a poor business practice.
People should know that many of the old debts they are going after may not even be enforceable due to time or error. Always avoid saying anything or acting in any way that may be taken as a waiver of dispute or time limit rights.
Working with the original creditor does not necessarily avoid all the money going to the harassing collector since the original creditor may now only be working as a service for the collector they sold the debt to.- Caller: collection service
- Call type: Debt collector
- TexasStarI received a phone call from this number 800-825-8038 I said hello three times and no one would speak up so I hung up on them and blocked them!

- Lori morgabThey will not tell me who they are just there name and with contractors something we don't owe any contractor
- Matt replies to Kat| 1 replyHow do you pay a month or two ahead on a Utility Bill? lmao.
- pk replies to MattJust pay extra when you pay your bill. I do it all the time when possiable.
- TessCall many times in one day starting befor 8 AM they don't even say who they are ask silly questions I got so I don't answer any more just hit disconnect button.
- Caller: Unknown they don't say
- Ron| 1 replyI have no connection to this company and do not have any late payments outstanding. About three weeks ago, I began being bombarded with telemarketer, nuisance, robocalls constantly. I learned they are looking for a woman named April whose number is one digit different from mine. I get almost 35 different calls a day which are all blocked. I have a great credit rating and do not want to ruin it.
- BigA replies to RonFortunately for you someone else posted who the name of the callers, so here is what you need to do to stop the calls:
You need to send them a certified, return receipt "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested). Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it. Make a notation of that fact at the bottom of the letter. You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to. Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment. If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it. Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front): http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Everything else you need to know follows including at least two agencies where you should report their criminal activities.

Web site says that they are in Atlanta Georgia, haven for criminal debt collectors, second only to Western New York:
http://www.contractcallers.com/index.php/contact-us/
BBB gives them an A rating with 118 complaints (interesting, they have 25 more complaints than they did when I first did this report, and the BBB has put them from an F rating to an A- rating. And now the BBB has removed 20 of those complaints and given them an A rating): http://www.bbb.org/central-georgia/business-r ... ugusta-ga-39919

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it. You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
