- BrianA "Mel Spector" called me asking about my former brother-in-law.
I told him I do not have any contact with my ex brother-in-law and the person insisted on calling again.
How do we stop these people?
Brian - Person800-828-1110 ext 1391 Steve... he used his deepest most intimidating voice and demanded a return phone call and didn't list company or anything. Jerk.

- AnitaI received a call looking for a friend of mine. they have called other family members of mine asking for my friend also. I am really disturbed that they have my familie's phone number. I spoke to one lady and asked her what the call is regarding and she wouldnt tell me.
my friend has a clean credit record...so she doesnt know why they are calling me either. this is definitely suspicious.- Caller: NCB management
- confused replies to lametwow... you posted alot of great information. Thank you. It is appreciated.
- po'd personMy little sister, that just moved back from Japan, got a call from this number looking for me about a debt. How she got a phone number that has only been available for 6 months is beyond me, and why was Dot Harrision trying to get my home phone number is frightening. I have not a clue what this is about, but I will not accept the bull from this person calling my sister.
- Pist offI received a call from a Bob Lutz at ext. 1433 saying he was trying to get a hold of my neighbor for the last two days, but couldn't because a fax machine was hooked up to it. What the heck??? Now, I have to deal with these phone call that have nothing to do with me??!!! Idoits! They need to be put out of their misery..........
- ranjaI received several automated phone calls in Dec 2009 from Tel # 215-244-4200. Message content “LAW OFFICE. PRESS * TO ACCEPT CALL” I have preserved recorded copy of the calls as evidence. Doing research and contacting PA Department of State found out that calls were originated from Law office of SILVER AND ASSOCIATES, P.C . Also reported by PA Department of State that National American Credit Corporation and NCB Management Services, Inc, a Collection Agency, are also registered with same address, Tel number and Fax number (1 Allied Dr. Trevose, PA 19053, Tel # 215-244-4200, Fax 215-633-9920). All 3 businesses are also owned and managed by Mr. Rick Silver and Mr. Brett Silver. This is a false, deceptive, misleading representation and means in connection with the collection of any debt and clear violation of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act § 807 [15 USC 1692e]. I have already filed complain with State of CA Attorney General's office and FTC. A legal remedy is also on the table.

- DUH| 4 repliesMy parent is a supervisor for this company. Now youre all probably going to assume that I have nothing but bias comments being the daughter of a debt collector most of my life, but what Im about to tell you all is completely factual.
Most of you idiots are L-I-A-R-S because Ive been around these people collecting their debts and I know better. I learned the laws in and out at a young age and I continue to learn more all the time. Failure to pay a debt is the CAUSE of a recession. If you think differently, not only are you wrong but youre ignorant!
I am, myself in debt because of the failures of a few people to actually do their job. I owe upwards of $10,000 in medical bills and I am only 17. But even at my age, at least I can grow a back bone and say "I messed up". No, I cannot and am currently not paying my debts because of my current, private situation but Im not blaming anyone else for my downfall in my credit and such.
Most of you are just whiners. The kind that always have been whiners and always will be, although there are a few respectable citizens on here. Stop taking your aggravation out on these people who are just doing your job. Grow up and Stop crying and complaining. If I can explain to you what you need to do, and your just gonna go off on some more of your idiotic rants, like I know some of you will, your just proving me right.
So go ahead and post some hateful IGNORANT things. Youre all immature and, if youre a whiner, you deserve what youre getting. THAT is Karma. :) - Rubbermade replies to Non-Payers = Bad Economy!!!!!!!Mr Bill Collector,
Your statement in bold is just too simplistic for words. In your eyes, anyone without the ability to pay bills is a spendthrift, someone who voluntarily spent more than their capacity. If only the world were that SIMPLE, then so would your conclusion.
I am employed, have good income and for much of the recent decade had a good credit rating and cash flow. Like any good business, I take reasonable risks that enhance my future position. A reasonable risk is to remove my kid from a substandard public school and put him in a substantially better private school. Another reasonable risk is to co-sign for a college-age son on a car loan. There is no room for luxury cars, excess vacations, toys, trinkets, jewelry, etc. in my budget. However, when the private school raises tuition, and when the weakening economy withdraws work opportunities for the typical college student/graduate, it's up to me to make adjustments in the short term that will continue to keep my long-term goals intact. My risk is your risk. I succeed, my credit succeeds. When I stress, my creditor stresses. We're all in this together. Terms are set to incur a particular amount of risk on both sides of the transaction. I am NOT responsible for the creditor decisions that aren't a part of my transaction.
We'll all survive this by working together.
Slander and degrading judgments about broken terms are great for you and your boss to get you hyped/agitated/motivated, but, it won't work with me. GOT IT?
Oh, by the way. I am not required to work with you. Most folks don't understand that. In many situations, paying DIRECTLY to the original creditor is the best solution. They get 100%, not 50% as they do through you, and my record emerges with a cleaner rating, in spite of the over 30's, which are still better than charge-offs, or 'turned over to collection' - Kathy replies to JillThey just posted an add on craigslist in San Diego, the free section, to give away computers and office equipment. They give an ext. of 1426 and Chris Ramos is the contact. They are fishing for info.
- David Reed| 1 replyNate Turman of NCB @ 800-828-1110 @ Extension 1466 has been calling my business every weekday for over two months. He is a relentless caller placing calls to a person (me) with a credit rating of 803. This is absurd. These clowns need to be shut down!

- Janet FanaleThis company called my cell phone which is NOT associated with anyone I may owe money to. They left me messages on my home phone but have not said where they are from. I don't know HOW they got my cell phone.
I asked that my cell be removed from their call list, and he started yelling at me. I am not allowed to take calls at work, and he put my job in jeopardy.- Call type: Debt collector
- FloridianAngela 800-828-1110 x 1870 called my Mother in California asking for me. I don't know how they got her number, she has only lived there about 2 years. I've been married 25+ years, so we have different last names. Angela didn't say why she was calling or what company she was with.
- Not Ethyl EvansMarch 10 I received a call on my recorder from Gerald Robins of NCB, x 1406. It referenced Ethyl Evans, a name I recognize since an agonizing barrage of calls from North Star a couple of weeks ago.
I called him back and told him I have had this number for over 15 years, that I do not know Ms. Evans and that I am on the Federal No Call List. And have excellent credit! He assured me he would take my number off the list.
Well, Saturday, March 13 the phone rings at 8:15 AM. Guess who? When I called him back to remind him of our conversation, he hung up on me! I called later and asked for his supervisor. He hung up again! I called back and spoke with Mr. Colchalouth and he assured me the matter would be looked into.
If you need to speak with a supervisor, call the 800 number, wait and press 6 for English, select the company directory and press the numbers of the first 4 letters of Mr. Colchalouth's name.- Caller: NCB

- DianeFor the love of chocolate these people cannot get it through their heads that the person they are looking for no longer has this number!!!!! I stopped answering their calls and explaining that but they only call me every day until they speak to me. Then, three weeks on average, here come the calls again. I mean come on! Do some form of skip trace!! If they did they would find that the number they have been calling ad nauseum is no longer the person they are looking for. And hasn't been for over a year!
The number belongs to NCB Managment in Pennsylvania.- Caller: NCB Management

- sick and tired too replies to David ReedYou need to report them to your state Attorney General's consumer fraud division. I have been getting calls at home from them for a person who previously had my phone number. I am preparing to file a complaint with my AG for their constant harrassment.
- Duh, huh? replies to DUHHey sweetie, thanks for standing up for your parent. However, I can assure you that I am not the person they have been calling for. Never have been, never will be - wrong gender to begin with. If the people calling from your parent's company did their job and completed any form of skip trace then they would find that they are calling the wrong number. As appears to be the case with 90% of the folks who have posted here - they don't bother to do even the simplest form of skip trace. Yes, I do know that a majority of folks skipping out on their debt do lie, so for the first three months of the harrassing phone calls I was patient. But come on! It's been long enough to check the number, run the social, check unemployment records. It's not that difficult.
I am intrigued how a 17 year old can have $10,000 in medical debt. - Its me replies to Quit calling the wrong people..| 1 replyStatute of Limitations is actually 10 years, so it would have come time to pay the piper because it had been 9 years. Just sayin'.
- petmommyDebt Collectors – Collection Agency's do NOT fall under Do NOT Call registry, as they are not telemarketers. However, they do constantly violate other Federal Laws, because us American's don't know the laws to protect us. They are counting on that.
- Federal Law says you don't have an obligation to Collection Agencies or Debt Collectors; you can send them a written letter and they cannot contact you after that. This includes Attorney's in state's other than your state of residence. The only Attorney's that can sue you, have to be licensed in your resident state.
A word of caution: Some Law Firms do have Firms in other states, and Lawyers licensed in other states, so you have to do a little research before sending a Cease & Desist (Do Not Call & Go Away letter) to make sure they aren't in your resident state or you're likely to get sued by these #%#&*@!#%&@$^*.
Once a debt collector makes contact with you, they also have to contact you within 5 days after the first phone call, letter etc., and give you validation/proof or judgment of the debt. You are not required to ask for it. They never do this!!!!
This law is known as the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act. You can get it at FTC.gov; as well as other Consumer Protection Laws.
Most collection agencies, purchase your delinquent debt for pennies on the dollar. Guess what? It is no longer your debt!!! You don't have any agreement/contract with the debt collector or collection agency. Your only agreement/contract was with the original creditor.
Do NOT agree to any payment arrangements, or you'll be creating an agreement/contract, where upon initial contact by the Debt Collector, one didn't exist. The collection agencies are counting on you not knowing this little bit of information.
The best advice I can give you is, do NOT talk to these idiots - they will leave you in a frustrated heap on the floor. They lie, and will tell you whatever they need, in order to get you to commit to paying them.
The lies are illegal, but they honestly don't care, they're probably on commission for how much they collect from you and others like you.
If you do answer the phone, do NOT give out your employer, social security #, DL #, Credit Card and/or Bank information, or any personal information. Tell them to send you a written statement & you'll respond. Then hang up. When you get that statement, google, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and you'll probably find a letter you can send them Or: send the letter I’ve enclosed that I use. Sign and mail that letter Certified Mail, so you have a signature and confirmation of delivery!!!

In the Law of Novation: if a debt is purchased by another, for that to be a legal owed obligation, a new contract / agreement has to be written and signed by all parties. Google Law of Novation and read up!!!
No I am not an attorney, just a well knowledged, educated consumer. I have spent the past 2 years studying various Federal Consumer Protection Laws.
I wasn't just satisfied knowing I could send a letter to a Collection Agency/Debt Collector and they had to go away. I read that in the Fair Debt Collector practices Act law; I needed to know why, what law tells me the reason why I can.
Everything I have typed, I have learned basically on my own through reading, studying, printing out and binding the laws and underlining/highlighting them. Not to mention the knowledge I have gained on my own fighting two lawsuits without an Attorney.
I was sued by a Collection Agency, and waiting for a Court date. The Collection Agency Attorney, sent us a letter willing to dismiss with prejudice our lawsuit, if I dismiss our Cross/Counter Claim for Fair Debt Collector Practices Act violations. Oh, I forgot to mention, we do not have an Attorney representing us; and I have not had any legal experience, in the past whatsoever.
I have read / printed & bound, my State's Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Civil Procedure - Evidence. I catch Attorneys on violations of State Rules of Civil Procedure all the time. And our Judge's let them get away with it.
And for those of you who say pay up and quit being a deadbeat; it appears that you have never had your life turned upside down, because a good job, not high paying by any means, but a supposed secure job, got your hours cut by 3/4.
And then a couple years later, as you are just recovering, you lose that job. And when you are in your 50's, a new job is not so easy to come by. And when that happens, then what?
Or what about a major illness, guess you've never had that either - too bad. Maybe if you did, you'd understand why and how people end up getting in financial straights. Not because they chose to, or decided they were going to find loopholes to get out of paying obligations etc.
What if the money isn't there to pay these debts to begin with? We've been barely able to pay a mortgage, let alone credit cards etc. It's easy to tell someone else what to do. I hope someday, something throws your secure little world off its axis, and you find yourself in the very situation as some of us here. Maybe then you'd learn it isn't such a cut/dry situation.
Oh, we've struggled. And the job last hasn't exactly been replaced. We're still behind in our Mortgage and trying to catch up, as with our other legal obligations. I can't work because of various health conditions, or I would, including a part time job at least. My husband started his own company with the tools of the trade, and now contracts for copier, computer, IT technical jobs as he has a computer science degree, and has years of experience in the others, especially the wide format copier / printers / computers.
People, please read the Fair Debt Collector Practices Act; if a Debt Collector violates any one harrassment or other law in there; Federal Laws says you can sue them for $1,000.00 per violation. Do it, and then THEY can pay off YOUR obligations!!!
Again I am not an Attorney - but have learned these by my own experiences. There are Attorneys you could talk to, and I would, if any violations of the laws have occured in your circumstances. I am posting this strictly to help others maybe have a piece of mind, if they are up all night worrying about financial problems, and sick to their stomach in worry as I have been, and still are in some ways. I am again just a well informed, knowledgable consumer, who has spent hours studying the laws, because I had no where else to turn for help. If anything I have written, causes you questions, please seek the advice of an Attorney.
Certain situations such as Mortgages and Car Payment loans usually do not apply here; so you may need to seek the advice of a Lawyer for your individual situation.
If anyone should need help with Lawsuits regarding Collection Agencies/Debt Collectors and/or Credit Cards; I may be able to help you. Please contact me at tlcpetmommy@gmail.com.
