- Vegascub| 7 repliesI got a letter in the mail supossably from the IRS a Mr Knadle and this was the phone number on the letter! Personly I think Its some serious bank fraud going on with Bank Of America because the debt that this bogus IRS guy put in this letter is just not possible! BOA told me the 1st time I called that this account had to many digits now there saying it a bill from my husbands goverment credit card when he was enlisted in the AF!From 12/2009 is when it says the bill was turned over to them! Well my husband has been seperated from the AF since 2001 and that card could not have even a 1cent balance on it when he seperated or he would have never gotton out until it was pd in full! Af makes turning in your Gov card as part of your outprossing! So Busted BOA!!! You can bet we are going to go after them for fraud too!!

- gary| 2 repliesMy wife got a letter saying that she owes 4,000. The numbers on the papers say to call 1800-829-3676 and 1800-829-8310. Any info?
- Weltski| 2 repliesI got a letter today claiming I owe them more money. They made a very good attempt at claiming to be the IRS, but I am fairly certain it is not the IRS. They showed my full social security number several times on each page of the notice, they only list PO Boxes in NY & OH, they listed a fax number, the phone numbers are not the same as every other notice I get from the real IRS. They listed 1-800-829-8310 as the phone number.
- Noneya| 1 replyI receved a letter from "IRS" in April 2015. The letter states that I owe a small amount of money from 2013. The letter is a little sketchy and the company that I received the money from has "gone out of business". SO. I got on the IRS.gov website and did a search. I typed in the 1-800-829-8310 phone # that showed no listings, I looked up the 1-800-829-3676 which did show a listing. I also looked up the Holtsville PO box # which did not show up. 1 out 3 worried me. I did a Google search looking up the same phone numbers and address. The address or PO box seems to be a true address for IRS and I found this web site. I found this number "800-829-1040" listed a few comments above. Went back to IRS.gov and searched for it and it matched. I then called it and follwed the prompts. I spoke to two representatives there. Both identified theirselfs as a Mrs or Mr so in so and both provide and ID#. I was advised I did owe the money and the letter was legitiment. I was also advised I can make the payment directly on the IRS.gov websit, but going to "payment" then "direct pay" for the year I owed the moneth and then I need to enter the form I used to file with. I dont think if this letter is fraudulant I would be advised to go to the IRS website to make the payment there. The crooks would not get their money that way.
Phone #: 800-829-1040 is to the IRS.

- JaneI got the same letter, send it to my accountant, got all the information and mailed it to the address on letter. this was April 2015 and now my husband and I each got the same letter again this time it was certified mail. it was exactly as the first one except for the Notice#...so now I'm not even sure what the heck is going on!!!!!
- Ron| 2 repliesGot a letter with phone number 18008298310 stating I owed $1800 back taxes. Gave the initials of the supposed employer but no phone. When I inquired as to documentation of the unreported income from the employer they told me to call a F Banks at 18008298310. No documentation, no number to reach the supposed employer and no real name to contact (unless you count F Banks with an 800 number as a real name). All very suspicious.
