I was rest assured that my identity was confirmed and I would need to wait. DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR.  I've done thi 5 years ago when my identity was stolen. and needed to verify today. I did my taxes 1-28-16 return date set for 2-18-16 but it just didn't seem right. So I called the same 800# and was told told that the advocate didn't process my answers right and now I need to go to my local IRS and prove who I am.
At this point I would rather be someone else. I need to take 2 forms of I.D. state license and social security card. LMAO...my social is null and void.

No...if they turn you away tell them the IRS sent you for identity verification. They can't turn you away. It's much better than waiting a pathetic 9 weks just to find out that nothing was confirmed.
The first identity theft. I was lost then called a attorney and after waiting 6 months I recieved my return.
It's all crap. H and R peace of mind can't help. They tell you "we can only help you if you sit in front of us. And they call the same number.
Funny thing...ask the advocate office if anyone that owes the IRS has had their I.D. taken. The answer is NO.
So it's not the illegals taking our id. (They would get take the ones thato owe too) This is IRS at its finest.
IRS AND B of A teamed up years back and here we are today....
IRS doing the fraud on the ones they owe ONLY.

Accepted on 1/20/2016. Lost my bars around the 4th of Feb on where is my refund. Contact the IRS on 2/11: day 21; was informed that my return was random selected for a review. This could take 4-5 weeks to process. 2/18/16, call back to check on my review: got some a***** on the phone: "Did you call the 1800 number?, " "no, I didn't call any 1 800s bc there wasn't one proved to me." Agent: "Don't you know  what verified is?" Me: "I repeated his agent id number to him, tell I just verified your identification and unprofessional, if you shall proved me with a number I will verify my identity, sir." Agent: "gives me the 800.830.5084, " Me: "Thank you, I pray your day gets better, have a bless day."  Agent: "Ma'am the number will say call back due to high volume of calls; she continue to call repeatedly, it will registered your number"

I call this number 14 times back to back; on the 14th call, it send me to a 25 minutes holding process before an agent came abroad. The number provides you with detail on how to go online idverify.irs.gov; therefore, as I wait on the phone I went to the website. However,  it didn't work, the agent came on the phone, verify me, and told me it could take 9 weeks and wait 3 weeks to start tracking the process.
