get calls from this number all most every day any time of day

I got a call from this number on my cell phone, which I only give out to family and friends.  I did not answer because it is a 1-800 number, and both my home and cell phone are on a gov't "No Call" list.  Later - from home - I called the number & was told it was an organization for "Readers".  I told them I wanted both numbers on THEIR No Call list.

I had my phone number for about 2 weeks now and I got a call from the same number today.  I didn't answer and they left no message.  I just put this munber on the dont call list.
Did they ever stop calling you?

I keep getting calls from this number at the switchboard where I work and nobody responds when I answer the phone. I called the number and a recording was activated on their end that identified the company as "FAMILY REACER SERVICE". The recording claimed my call was recieved duing non-business hours. I found this interesting that this business claims to be closed while outgoing calls are being made.

Almost certain this has something to do with Comcast new sign-ups for phone service.  I called and requested my # be taken off their contact list, but I find it ironic that everyone who has commented on here just got new service.

Got a call from this # 3 times this week, and yes, this is my first week of Comcast phone service.  I called it back and spoke with a lady whom I advised to remove my number from her list or her company would be looking at a FTC formal complaint.  MAKE SURE YOUR NUMBER IS UNPUBLISHED WITH YOUR PROVIDER!!

I googled the number and found out that it was Time Warner Cable.  Probably spamming your phone line for DSL connection?

Just got a call from 800-845-2074. Got hung-up on when I answered. I called back from another phone line and a lady answered simply "Hello?" I found out they are in fact "Family Reader Service" Some sort of magazine deal. BTW they are listed on "Ripoff Report" Case#'s 278296 and 278436.

I got a phone call from this number, it hung up before I could answer, so I called back.  Some lady named "Susan" answered, I was quite rude to her because I don't like getting phone calls from strange businesses.  I asked her who they were, and she informed me her name was Susan.  I told her I meant the company, she wouldn't answer me, then I told her I wanted to be taken off their call list.  She said I had to verify my name & number.  She told me my phone number, so I verified my name, and she hung up on me.  Unsure if she had actually taken off my number, I called back and got the same woman.  She still refused to tell me what company it was, and when I began to get upset and curse, she hung up on me.
(By the way, when I worked at a calling company before for a bank, we were NOT supposed to hang up on people, no matter how rude or upset they got.  We also could tell them what company we were.)
I think it's a scam.

...and another strange this is that I keep getting the same person "Susan" everytime I call.  It seems like they only have one person  in the call center to me.  I called back to find out what company it was.  She said it was the "Family Reader Service" (on ripoffreport.com) and that she gets my number from the phone company (which is Verizon).

I guess I'll have to call Verizon & complain to them.  I don't want phone calls on my cell unless they are someone who I've given my number too.  Definitely makes me mad.

I too just got my house number and have started getting calls from these random 800 numbers.  From this number (8008452074) this morning at 8am! I was still sleeping and so were my kids thank you very much! This is so irritating! I agree that it must be something about having new service hooked-up.

I get all sorts of calls of this type after signing up with comcast's phone service.  I've had a line for 6 days totay and I've prob gotten 15 calls from various scam artists.  I'm calling comcast now to threaten to cancel and to opt out of everything.

I got the call from same no. So annoying and frustating. i have cocast too. They suck..

They left no message.  I called back.  A recording said, "Thank you for calling Family Reader's Service.  All agents are busy.  Please hold for the next available agent."  Which I did not do...

I learned this from some movie I watched, I just keep a air horn can by the phone to blast repeat offenders.

I keep getting calls from this number and it's starting to get really irritating. I haven't answered due to the fact that it's not a number that I recognize.. Who are they? What do they want? How can I get them to stop???
