I've received a call from this number several times a day. This is my second unlisted number and the still call. I agree with the other guy give the number to the local police station. Florida.

I get this number too...and I get alot of 800 number calls as soon as I got Comcast Digital Voice. how do they get my number...it started the second day after I got the phone number.

I am also with Comcast and I just got a new number. Do you think they are selling our telephone numbers to these telemarketing As*holes!??

Just switched from Comcast to ATT and the unsolicited calls come pooring in!

We switched from Time Warner to AT&T landline two days ago; because our number-port request was lost by AT&T, we have to use a temp number until the port can be completed.  As soon as the line became active (the temp number), we started getting calls from this number.  So far, every time we answer the system hangs up on us.  I am planning to either get to the call right away so it connects, or call them back and harass THEM.

family reader service is who it was when i called back looking for my ex husband but when my daughter answered the phone they ask for me and my new last name so she said so i dont know they just said they wont be calling back I have only had this number 2 days and got a call from them yesterday also. I dont know if there is a way to find out how they got the number to begin with.

Jiminy Cricket, these people are annoying.  I just got our new phone number (Charter-WI), and like folks have been saying, they called before *anyone* knew our number.  Not really surprised that the phone company would sell your number, it's a way to make money.  I don't feel it's an appropriate way, but hey, that's life.

Anyway, these boogers call three times a day, minimum.  They are not there when I pick up, it's simply an open line.  When I phone back, I get a message about "thank you for calling family reader service", then "your call is important to us.  please stay on the line" once 30-60 seconds.  That gets old fast when you're on hold for 20+ minutes.  And then, the line gets picked up, somoene chatters in the background like they didn't realize the call kicked in automatically, there's a click, and we're back to the same open line.

The address for this company is: Family Reader Service, 5065 North Abbe Road, Suite 8, Elyria, OH 44035.  Their phone number (aside from the 800 number) is: 440-322-8996.  I phoned them direct, thinking I'd have a better chance of getting though.  They said that the customer service department was closed, and then proceeded to give their hours (which we were within).  Nice.

Heh... there's a fax number, too.  I suppose you could write a letter asking to be taken off their phone list, since you can't get a hold of them any other way, but then they'd have your fax number, too.  What a nightmare.

Lady over the phone started telling me about what magazines her company would be sending me.  I asked her what was her company and why they were going to send me magazines.  She said it was for the beauty shop.  I own a small business but not about beauty. I refused the magazines.

I too have been called, (three missed calls in one day)  when I answered I did not wait to hear anyone's sale pitch . . . I simply told them that I was registred with the "Do Not Call Registry" (and I am) and they hung up on me.  Dial 888-382-1222 to register your number. It works on cell phones too.

I just hooked up my phone less than a week ago. Only two people know this phone number, yet I get phone calls from this number 2-3 times a day. How do I stop the calls??

I, too, have a new phone number and have gotten 4-5 calls from these people a day. I just called them back and they must have a caller ID because the woman was able to read my telephone number back to me. Anyway, I confirmed the number and told her I wanted to be placed on their "do not call list." She said she would do that immediately, so we'll see if the calls do indeed stop.

Stand up for your rights!  Report abuses by filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and your local Attorney General's Office.  The more people who report abuses the more likely we are to get it to stop!  If you do not feel your privacy rights are protected, while they protect the supposed privacy rights of the business holders/owners of these numbers, contact your congressman and demand action be taken so that there can at least be the hope of a level playing field where your privacy is at issue.

Wow, I cancelled my cell phone to get away from unwanted calls. The very first day my home phone rang off the hook!!! Non-stop til 9pm at night!!!! I went to the do not call web site. Hope this helps.

Today morning I have recieved a call from 18008452074 and she did not speak fluently and she knows my name but I couldnot understand what she said!1!

Whoever it is does not leave a message and calls repeatedly,
I tried to call them but all circuits are busy.
They should not call me anymore
