said they were some sweepstakes,wanted my visa or mastercard info,I told them I didn't have either one

I just got through,family readers service, they knew my number and name, I asked them to stop calling,she said have a good day.

I don't answer and they don't leave a number.

They started talking to me as if I was a good friend of theirs, but I put on a spanish accent. They got too frustrated and hung up.

im living in Quebec... french north america place... they called me today, did a search on the net and i got what you all see. They asked me for a name, dee lee or something like that. I speak french, i first talked in english, and finished with french, i dont think they'll called back again :P

i have a new number too, and they keep calling me, this is frustrating, i'm pissed, my company said they wouldn't sell my number and i keep getting calls like this...
i put myself on the no call list, and they keep calling..

Takes about a month for the the DO NOT CALL list to have an effect

Same story;  new ViaTalk VOip phone service.  These jokers begin calling right away.  Good news is that with ViaTalk I can set to block 800 numbers, 866 numbers, or any specific numbers that I don't want calling me.  It works!!

This is a number that calls to basically do a survey of new number customers. The number will cycle through its list of numbers and that is why it continues to call you. Just answer and take 5 minutes to answer their ridiculous questions and you won't hear from them again

Just called this number back and it said "thanks for calling Community Reading Club, all agents are busy please hold..." I hung up

I am in the process of changing phone/internet/cable and just got A NEW PHONE NUMBER ONLY KNOWN TO THE COMPANY AND A FEW FRIENDS.  This number 1-800-845-2074 appears on my caller ID and I couldn't call back to check who had called me.  I have registered with the "don't call listings" but I guess it will take a few days before this comes into effect if ever.

Same here, had this number one week, one day, they continue to call.

The reason anyone with a new telephone number can receive these calls is because, even with National Do Not Call Registry, they require 31 days before it becomes active.  So, they probably just go down the list of newly acquired telephone numbers for people and call them without being concerned about being reported and fined. The best thing to do is register ones new number ASAP, then blow a whistle in the ear of the unwanted callers.

This number calls like 4 times a day, so I finally answer and they go into this speil about how I've won something. So I act so excited, like oh my goodness, I can't believe I won! I've never won anything! I get so excited I say I have to sit down, I am having chest pains. Then I drop the phone and walk away. I plan on having someone tell them I am "no longer" with them. Then maybe I'll mess with them some more, depending on my mood... Good luck!

Had our phone 10 days and received a call from this number!  Hope this doesn't continue!!!

i get these call and called it back the message said Thank you for calling the family reader service. Never heard of them

Yep it's Dec and the folks at 800-845-2074 are still at it. Two calls in two days with no messages. In this state supposively computerized marketing is illegal. Therefore, if I do find out this is what they are doing I'm going to file a written complaint with the state attorney generals office. Then maybe with several complaints on them, they'll get one of those hefty million + fines that was just recently levied on three big companies violating the no-call and no-computerized calls laws.

Got this call just awhile ago. No one said anything, all I heard was people talking in the background, the kind where you're in a fancy restaraunt and the people are talking in the background. Then they just hanged up. I don'y have caller ID but I *69 it to see who was the last caller.

New number from Charter Communications (which I have to pay extra to be "unpublished") received a call from this number the same day it was activated and every other day for the first week.  After I figured out how to put them on the Call Rejection list, I did so.  Hopefully that will stop that problem.  (Also activated anonymous call blocking since I also received 7 anonymous calls in 5 days. -- to this UNPUBLISHED Brand New Number!)
