- Fedupwithchase replies to Mike V| 9 repliesMy husband is self employed and recently had a heartattack and will be unable to work for the next 8 to 10 weeks. This means no income. We called all of our other creditors, including a 2nd mortgage and they deferred our payments until September 2010 with no problem. We then went to speak with Chase about our primary mortgage. What a joke. They keep referring you to the standard customer service number to speak with people who either no qualified to help you or they do not have the authority to help you. After several phone calls and actual visits to a nearby branch we were told that they do not defer payments and that we would have to file for a loan modification. This could take up to 6 months. Not to mention you cannot be current to qualifiy. So instead of deferring for 3 months, they would prefer that we default long term and add to the piles of loan modification apps that they have. Plus, because we did not pay April or May's mortgage until last week, we received a foreclosure notice. We will be leaving Chase as soon as we possibly can. They are the worst!!!! I wonder how much of a bonus they pay their executives in order to retain their "unreplaceable talent"??
- FrustratedwithChase replies to DeanChase and its former company Washington Mutual are not better than loan sharks. If you are even a little past your due date they will call you as much as every hour on the hour. Fortunately we found an old caller ID that allows you to block certain numbers.
- DonThis CAN'T be chase.. I've been getting calls from them the past few days.. BUT I LIVE IN CANADA WITH A 416 CELL PHONE NUMBER.. and NEVER had any morgate or loan or anything to do with chase.. I've lived in Canada all my life... If you think it's chase, probably best just to goto your personal bank branch or any chase branch location and see whats up... It also seems the only way to "get in contact with someone" on that number is by entering a VALID ssn OR Chase account number.. seems a little fishy to me.... I'd stay away and like I already said.. just goto a valid chase branch to follow up if you are worried about your account..
- Mac| 1 replyI keep getting calls from someone who speaks little to no English (gotta love outsourcing) and they want someone with a name I can't pronounce much less spell. I try to call the number back to tell them there is no such person at my number... a number I have had for over 2 years... but if you don't have a SSN & account ID in their system, you can't speak to a human! I don't have a Chase Mortgage... correction, I don't have any mortgage, I rent my house! I wish this idiot that keeps calling would actually listen to my voice message and realize I am not the person they are hunting for!!!!
Hopefully I can catch one of these calls and tell them to leave me alone someone gave them a bogus phone number! ARGH! - noonehey people you must know that if you own money we can call grace period is just to avoid any late fee and if you dont want to recive calls so make pmts on the 1st
- BeasleyOk noone use proper english (or maybe it was a typo although the e and n are nowhere close to each other) people may owe money not own money and maybe it is not financially possible right now in this economy to pay on the first or even by the 16th as long as they are paying and why would the bank complain it gets a late fee. Also harassment is just what it is harassment which by the way is illegal even though we people owe you (the bank) money. Also calling in a harassing manner no matter when the date before or after the 16th does not make us people have the money just because you call everyday several times a day. There is no compassion for the struggling here only harassment. (which did I mention is illegal :o). maybe we all should ban together for a class action lawsuit?

- Charlie replies to Bette| 4 repliesI'm in the Navy and all branches of the service work the same. Your son is given a housing allowance, or BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing). It is a set rate for the location that he is stationed in. The Army will not pay any more than that set rate for that area. If the payment is more than the housing allowance we as service members have to pay that amount. What you might could do is work with them to lower his payment since he is on active duty and deployed over seas. I know you can do this with personal loans and auto loans. If not just work with them as best you can. Hopefully they can help out and will understand. Hope that helped.
- eaglett1111 replies to FedupwithchaseHi - sounds like you are starting a trip down loan modification hell. Been there..Still there. Come join us at www.beingmiddleclass.org and those of us who have been through a few hoops may be able to help. It's still as stressful as can be, but it is very good to have other people to run things past.
- eaglett1111 replies to It is NOT Chase!| 1 replyIt IS Chase.
- eaglett1111 replies to MikeKevin - it is Chase. Believe me. I have talked with people at that number for 18 months. It is Chase. They are dufuses, to be sure, but it is Chase.
- Praying They Keep Calling replies to MacUnfortunately, these people who call, have know idea who they are calling until someone answers. Than their computer kicks in the account by number. I have notified Chase and so has my attorney regarding the bankruptcy, but it seems no one bothers to enter it into their collection dept. records, even though they have received the court documents. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I was informed that after the court date, if they persist in calling me, I can sue them for 3 times my debt. (Praying they keep calling)

- DgI don't even have a loan with these people and they still called my cell on a Saturday morning. Then they said nothing when I answered!
- frustratedI won't bore you all with the details but it seems this is a "legitimate" (though lame) bill collector for Chase. The caller had the right information and I gave her nothing. I got on the list for forgetting to increase my auto-payment by about $60 based on my latest escrow reappraisal. No email notifications, no past-due notice, just the obviously-from-overseas phone calls from debt collector "800 Service" caller ID. Makes me want to REFI now. Maybe that's what they are trying to encourage?

- VERY ANNOYEDStop calling this phone #, it is an unlisted phone # and if it keeps up, I will report you to the Federal Government!!!!!
- SlimHad a call on 7/1 and again on 7/3...mortgage is paid to date.
- Holly replies to Dean| 7 repliesSo how do I stop the harassment from Chase. I asked them to please stop calling. This matter is in the process of being taking care of. I get 8 -10 calls every day (except weekends) on my cell and also on my home phone . I have a daughter with stage 4 cancer and I am away from home every other week when she has her chemo treatment. The turned me down after 6 months of torture trying to get a modified mortgage. I never missed a payment before but I have no more resources left. I NEED TO STOP THEM.
- Unlisted replies to HollyUnfortunately the only way to stop them from calling is to have ALL your phone numbers changed to an unlisted number. I would do that now. You don't have time for this [***]. Your priority lies with caring for your daughter. Chase and the other big banks have NO intention of working with anyone. I've been there, too. I know. I have an elderly family member who is continually being harassed by AIG because they refuse to change the due date on her mortgage to coincide with her monthly SS payment. She has just stopped answering their calls, for telling them this is equivalent to like trying to talk to a fence post.
Prayers go out to you and your daughter. - smariethis number has been calling me for months and has not once left a message. it's not a call once a week.. it's every single day.
i do not have a mortgage through any company so i do not understand the 1-5 calls a day. i DID have a chase credit card but i only owe them $300 and have not been late on any of the payments.
i have not answered the phone because of the others that have said that they then leave a note on your door.
this is all freaking me out.. i just want them to leave me alone!- Caller: chase manhattan
- sunshine49 replies to DeanYes this is CHASE! And the day after it is due (mortgage) they will call you every 2 hours! At least I am paying my mortgage!
