- M replies to Getting Sick of Them...Thank you!
- Bob replies to Dean| 7 repliesIt is the number for Chase, but it is not an actual Chase representative. They are somehow able to make this number show up on your caller ID. You are NOT in collections until you miss three consecutive payments. I know this because I went to my local branch and asked them after I got a call from this number telling me I was in collections. We have paid our mortgage every month. Twice on the 16th, but never after. This is a scam, and they are trying to get valuable info from you. DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING!!! If they say you are in collections, aske them to send a written notice and hang up.
- Dorri replies to Dean| 2 repliesI received a call from this # and they proceeded to tell me that I had a bounced check for back in November and when I said that I didn't, they said I had to prove it (I was looking directly at my online bank statement at the time), so I contacted my bank and had the person (who spoke very broken English) on one phone and my bank on the other and told them that, indeed I had not bounced a check with them (never had). I hung up with the bank and then the man @ the 800 # said that he was mistaken ...it was my January 09 check that bounced and that I would need to fax a copy of my bank statement to him. I told him no and that I would contact Chase when I got home from work. I called Chase after work and they said that it did not show any bounced checks and asked me if a phone # showed up in my caller ID and did I call it back to see where it went. I said that I did and they answered Chase Mortgage. She told me that a true Chase # always shows up either Annonymous or Private Number and to beware if it doesn't. The same thing just happened again.
- TB replies to NEW JERSEYThis happens to us quite often.
We have been late on several occasions due to my husband's pay schedule, but we always pay within a day or two of our final "grace period" day which is the 15th of each month.
We have been with Chase for 3 years & have always paid our mortgage... along with their late charge & a bit extra toward the principle.
They hang up on me once they discover that my husband (who doesn't do the business management or check writing in our home) isn't available.
They also call day & night, 7 days a week... even at 8 am on Sunday morning as we prepare for church.
Sometimes the calls say "JPMorgan Chase", other times they are "Toll Free" which I don't take any way.
When I have answered the Chase calls they have asked for my address. You'd think they'd know the address of the property they have mortgaged.

614-422-4215 - KarenThey call 3 to 4 times per day. I have caller id and never answer their call. How do I get rid of them?
- Concerned replies to Getting Sick of Them...Thank you so much!
- ConcernedI just got a call from these people, but we are NOT late on our mortgage payment. Nor have we ever made a late payment. I am concerned this is another scam....haven't received anything in the mail regarding this.

- Chase replies to Getting Sick of Them...| 3 repliesThis is a company hired by Chase Bank.
- tink replies to Chasehow do you know this?? do you work for them??
- Chasing BackI receive numerous phone calls daily on both my home phone and my cell. I never answer calls unless I can identify the caller. This morning, after receiving the first two calls, I located this web site, was happy to know I have lots of company. Hello, everyone! I just called the number to find out to whom it belonged and guess what... it IS Chase. I don't know where "Getting Sick of Them" got the posted info that it isn't Chase, but go ahead and call yourself and you'll find out that it is the mortgage dept. I am one month late and am deliberately late because I am waiting to find out about a loan modification. I absolutely despise Chase and once I can extricate myself from their clutches, I will. They recently took over my bank (Washington Mutual) and I am seriously considering changing banks now just because it's Chase. Very negative association with the name.

- Annoyed| 4 repliesIt's damn Chase alright. I keep receiving calls from Chase multiples times a day, every other day. I even told the first 2 reps that I sent a Cease and Desist Letter and to contact me through mail. Do they listen??? Nope, I still get calls! I missed the first payment because I got laid off and am trying to get a loan modification. I tried doing the loan modification on my own in Jan 2009 (no response even though I was assigned a rep) and another in Mar 2009. I still have yet to hear from Chase on any response. So, I just hired a lawyer to do it for me.
- juicy replies to AnnoyedIts Chase. If you have a mortgage with them look on the back of your statement and their number is right there. Chase Collection Department 1-800-848-9380.
- Justice! replies to MichiganCHASE uses what is referred to as a professional "door knock" company when they can't reach you by phone. The name of the Company is JM ADJUSTMENT SERVICES. They are out of Michigan but have reps in every state.
Chase is very aggressive and will stop at nothing to make sure they have a constant direct line of contact with you. And yes in fact they leave innocuous notices that hang from a door knob just like in a hotel because I got one.
Report this to your local attorney general in your state, this is harassment and especially if your not delinquent and they send someone onto your property, this could be construed as trespass. - Johnthis number keep bugging me, althought I'm current on my payment
- LynnI received a call today from a guy calling himself Dwayne at 800-848-9380.
He was hard to understand but told me that I was late. I said no I have automatic payments set up and am current.
He first started talking to me about my loan being paid off but then realized this is a new loan. I told him I wanted him to give me my payment history starting in Jan '09. And he was able to give me the exact amount and date that the payments were made.
My Jan payment was made on the 15 (within the grace period)
all my other payments on the 13th except for June's payment which is again made on the 15.
So I said well it appears I'm not behind on my mortgage, he said but we haven't received your payment. I said if it normally is paid on the 13th and today is the 12th what's the problem.
He said that obviously I was lying because June's payment was on the 15th and wanted me to get online.
I told him I had to call him back and got this number from him.
I then went online by myself and verified the info he had was correct except that I do make auto payments. So I don't know why this last payment was not pulled on the 13th like the others.
I called the 800 number on the chase site and after going through the prompts and hitting 0 for a person I got a message stating the office was closed and to call back during business hours.
I checked the back of my statement and 800-848-9380 is listed as the collections number. So I called it, it's the exact same system as the 800's number on the site was and it said that they were closed and to call back during business hours.
So is Dwayne legit or is he a scammer?
How does he have all of my payment history? - jh| 1 replythis is a chase home finance #.It is their out of country collections. Evidently, the out of country collections call if you do not make a payment on the 1st...they (the out of country collections) do not understand about the grace period. I had told them 1x that I make my payments on the 15th and will make it at the branch....NEVER AGAIN will I answer their calls. The out of country collection person put a hold on my account making it impossible to make the payment at the branch. I went in to sit with a personal banker...it took her over an hour to get it straightened out....and the payment had to be made over the phone. They did wave the fee for me...but do not make any agreements with the out of country collections people...they do not know what they are doing and are looking to make their money by insuring that payments are made. One even called me a liar...So yes, they are "contracted" with Chase home finance, but do not deal with them.

- pye replies to jhSame deal as the rest of you - I schedule payments online to be delivered on the 15th. Both my husband and I receive at least four calls a day from these people. This afternoon's caller asked me for my name and my checking account number to "verify". Hung up on him and called Chase directly to find out what was going on. Chase confirmed that "someone" from its "out-of-town" office did try to contact me today, but that I NEVER should have been asked for my checking account or loan info. Asked the customer care rep to confirm that I had a scheduled payment for the 15th and she was able to do so. Guess who called here 10 minutes ago? Told her that I had spoken to Customer Care this afternoon and that, if she really was from Chase, she should be able to pull up my account online and see the payment. Refused to give her any account info. She was silent for a second and then said, "Oh - you paid ONLINE! OK, we won't call you anymore!"
- AnnoyedIt IS Chase. I am a month behind on my mortgage payment and told them I was doing my best to get caught up. Chase won't even take a partial/half payment; I don't know what their problem is. So they have people who can barely speak English call my house (don't mean to be rude here or to sound racist but I had to ask the young lady who called to repeat her self over and over again). She asked me why I was behind (Uhhhh, because I don't have any effen' money?) how many jobs I worked, what shift I worked, how much I got paid, and another number to contact me. I should have given her the number to Pizza Hut or Dial a Prayer. If I don't answer or if they get my answering machine, they hang up. That doesn't stop them from calling back 10 minutes later. OBNOXIOUS.

- Mad replies to Also ChasedI know who is calling! I spoke with them last week and they don't care if you've lost your job! I told the person on the other line that I have to eat, buy gas to look for a new job! I want to let them know, what would they say, if they were sitting in our chair! I want their home number so I can called them at home to asked them if they are having a good day!
- AneleI am getting calls from this number all the time. They are looking for a wrong person at my number. I told them I have nothing to do with Chase and they keep calling.
