They left a door hanger on my door as wellIt doesnt say who left the door hangar but it says if I dont call the number given, I can call1-888-995-HOPE.  Dont know why, my mortgage is current.

It may be another scam company using the Chase name/brand.

There are alot of companies that set up a temporary call/collection bank
and send out bogus notices. Call Chase, from there own website/phone number.... not one that the possible bogus company gives you to call.

Most people would recommend NOT giving out any info(ss#, address, drivers lic#, etc) unles you know for sure you are speaking to a legit company.

got a call from the 800-848-9380 Number but refuse to awnser it, for last 3 days have gotten 5 calls a day at 8:34, 11:34, 2:34, 5:34 and 7:34 for 3 days as I said. I looked it up and finaly awnsered it but when i told them my husband was not at home they mubled some crap out (not in english) and said to have him call them IMMEDIATLY reguarding our mortgage. Our mortgage is 12 days past due and with this economy gee go figure. You'll get your money back the heck off!!! Oh and Merry Christmas to you too since it started the 26th of December!!!!

I keep getting calls early morning and throughout the day nonstop im short of flying off the handle and screaming at these guys.  just yesterday i got calls at 6:10am, 9:30am, 1:12pm, 4:16pm 8:50pm, 10:10pm and everytime the person said they were looking for a mark souza and my phone number has been mine for over like 5 years now maybe more,...

Oh, it's chase alright.  Every month like clockwork starting on the 6th, they call my home phone, then my cell phone, then they call using a PRIVATE number (both phones again).  There are no late fees if you pay by the 16th so I don't think they should call till then.  It's soooo annoying though and most of the times when I DO answer, the person can barely say our name.   I don't think it's Chase Home Finance exactly but it is their collections which I believe is outsourced.  We didn't chose them, they bought our our mortgage loan from another company (who we were pleased with) and have been nothing but annoying.  We've considered refinancing because of it.

everything you've just said has happened to me, and I agree with not getting a call before the 16th.  we had another mtg. co that was great until CHASE bought it.

Called today, Sunday afternoon.  Said we were late on our home equity loan.  We have never had a home equity loan, plus we've never dealt with Chase bank.  This has to be a scam.  And the caller spoke very poor English

Computer call asking me to hold for an important message! I actually hung on for them NOT to be  able to connect me! I have called the attorney general and reported them for telephone harrassment!!

Two days in row somebidy is trying to conect that nomber to the my cell phone and after a wild "coll can not be completed"

we are receiving collection calls for someone else . . . we know this because there is also a credit card company calling our phone number for them.  All of the calls coming from this number are computer generated ans since you are calling our celphone  number there is no person on the line to make a complaint.

I have had Chase for my mortgage for a long time and yes I have been late on payments but this is not how they contact you. They have always identified themselves on ID caller as Chase no mater what number they called from. And they always leave a message. And when you call back you get a person who can communicate in english very clearly and they identify their self by name and that they are calling about your account. And they already know your account info and they will make sure that they are talking to the right person before talking about your account. They want to make sure they have the right person and they want you to know you are really talking to a Chase reprasentive. Any scam artist can get those Chaes numbers or send a fake letter in hopes you will bite. And Chase does not leave notes on peoples door knobs. But a scamer would. And when you call a Chase number back everything is automated with you intering info then being directed to a live person if that is what you need.

I have a second mortgage w Chase. Payment was due Feb 1 and by some goofy mistake I did not get my payment sent in through my auto bill pay for the month of February. This number started calling me on February 7th and hasn't stopped ( 5 times a day). I came onto this site today (Feb 9th), saw that people were mentioning Chase, checked my autobill pay, discovered February payment was not made and just now sent the payment in. A lot of people are saying it is a non-Chase phishing number, so I don't know. In any case, this site alerted me that it may be Chase calling for their money!

Chase Mortgage Collection Department just called me and asked where my payment was, I was seriously pass due for Feb 2009

I alway make my payment on time. never had a later fee on MY payment
we where away and I mailed on 02/05/09. they should have payment by now
but last night at 8:45 pm I got the call, demanding my Feb payment which I thought we had a grace period of 15 days. if they had looked back and saw we where never late IN 15 YRS, WHY WOULD THEY CALL DEMANDING MONEY

This is Chase Bank. I get paid on the 15th every month and pay the mortgage on the 15th of every month.  There is a grace period of 15 days to pay the mortgage, however, once your in Chase Bank system for not paying on your due date, you will receive calls from Chase Bank. At first, the Chase Bank logo will display on your caller ID.  Then, after many failed attempts, the logo will display, "Toll Free." After many failed attempts, 800-848-9380 will display on your caller ID.

Obviously, the bank is looking for a payment, but why not hound people after their grace period?  Isn't the grace period to allow some flexibility?  Chase sucks

This is Chase... I just scheduled a payment by phone and the rep told me that they could not see it... I told them too bad, I did it through THEIR automated service and was not going to give them any other info.

We started receiving phone calls from them about a year ago.  At first we were very concerned, because we had never made a late payment on our mortgage.  We called Chase directly (I had someone try to steal my identity from info I unknowingly gave someone on the phone, so we always say the person is not home then call the company directly), and we were told Chase had not initiated a phone call to us in OVER 3 YEARS.  We were told that everything was current, nothing was late, and we had never been late in over 10 years of having a mortgage with Chase.  

They were also kind enough to tell us that there was a problem going on with countless people getting the phone calls about being late, and then having to confirm everything over the phone, including bank account info and payments made.  We offered our assistance in what ever we could do to help, since the scammers told us they would try again the next day, and Chase told us that there was really nothing they could so to stop them.

Do yourself a favor, if you get a phone call from these people, advise them you know they are not from Chase AND THEN HANG UP.  If they even get an idea that you have a Chase account, they will keep calling trying to intimidate you into giving info.

It is the number for Chase, but it is not an actual Chase representative.  They are somehow able to make this number show up on your caller ID.  You are NOT in collections until you miss three consecutive payments.  I know this because I went to my local branch and asked them after I got a call from this number telling me I was in collections.  We have paid our mortgage every month.  Twice on the 16th, but never after.  This is a scam, and they are trying to get valuable info from you.  DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING!!!   If they say you are in collections, aske them to send a written notice and hang up.

I received a call from this # and they proceeded to tell me that I had a bounced check for back in November and when I said that I didn't, they said I had to prove it (I was looking directly at my online bank statement at the time), so I contacted my bank and had the person (who spoke very broken English) on one phone and my bank on the other and told them that, indeed I had not bounced a check with them (never had).  I hung up with the bank and then the man @ the 800 # said that he was mistaken ...it was my January 09 check that bounced and that I would need to fax a copy of my bank statement to him.  I told him no and that I would contact Chase when I got home from work.  I called Chase after work and they said that it did not show any bounced checks and asked me if a phone # showed up in my caller ID and did I call it back to see where it went.  I said that I did and they answered Chase Mortgage.  She told me that a true Chase # always shows up either Annonymous or Private Number and to beware if it doesn't.  The same thing just happened again.
