It's Chase Bank of India, the new head quarters. while it's the 15th due date here in the states. It's the 16th past due in India. If you mail your payments to Phoenix AZ, there collected there but not process there. Columbus, Ohio is the Question Department, Fort Worth Texas is the property tax department, Atlanta GA is the loss draft department, Doraville GA is the Insurance (make sure you have) department. So when they call and ask for payment, simple say ok, I'll stop by and make a personel payment. Their reply is NO that Chase only except over the phone or by mail. well over the phone will cost you a extra $30.00. so by snail mail (2 days) to get there.(the usmail is open 24/6 and they fly the mail)

Don't be an idiot.  That makes no sense.  Why would Chase hire a company to try to collect fees that they know their customers don't owe them.  Like many others, I don't even have a mortgage with Chase, and I get the calls.  Why would a company like Chase be involved in a scam?  This is essentially what you are saying (by saying that this company has been hired by Chase).  If you are going to say something so ridiculous, please offer some evidence.

sorry, but you're an idiot too.  I am usually not so harsh on people.  This is NOT Chase.  It is not Chase India, nor Chase USA, nor Chase China. It is a bunch of scammers.  Read the posts and use some common sense, please.

I'm receiving calls from this number asking for my mom, saying it's about her mortgage. She does not have a mortgage with Chase, as far as I know, but we're still getting calls.

I figured it was a scam; it sounds a lot like calls we received in my college dorm a few years ago regarding Visa credit cards--completely phony. DO NOT give them your information!

I am constantly receiving calls from 800 849 9380 at home at hours of the day. They will call early Saturday and Sunday mornings. Now they have started calling my work # and hanging up. Today I answered the call and the lady stated she was from Chase. I asked her for a number to call her back and she gave me 800 848 9380. I asked her what this was in reference to and she was dumbfounded.. said HUH? I repeated what is this in reference to because if you are calling me at this number you would not be stuck on HUH. Lady started to say she needed an account number to confirm the call, I informed her she should have that information if she was calling me with something pertaining to Chase and told her not to call her anymore.

There is no Chase HQ in India. It is amazing that people are so dense. There are 2 payment processing centers. one in AZ the other in KY. I won't even delve into how wrong the rest of your oral fart is. Please don't use the internet any more

I don't have an account with Chase and the automated service keeps calling my cellular a few times a day.  The automated service keeps telling me to hold for a representative and I hold and hold.  I can't afford to waste my minutes holding to speak to someone of which I don't do business with.

I also keep getting calls.  I found the number online here and called it back.  I spoke to some guy w/ a strong accent and he was a total jerk.  He kept insisting I provide my SS# so he can confirm that I don't have a loan with them that is over due.  I told him, I think I know who I have and don't have a loan through.  I asked for a manager and he denied my request insisting that it wouldn't do me any good.  So I told him to provide me with his name b/c how did I know they were Chase.  He said, we answered w/ Chase as the company name and I said so what it means nothing.  I said if you want my SS#, give me your name first.  He then hung up on me.  What a jerk!

I called back again and this time got a gal speaking clear English.  I asked for her name and she provided it.  She did ask for my cellular of which they've been calling and I did give it to her.  I told her about my previous experience and she said they didn't need my social to confirm whether I had a loan or not.  She didn't sound surprised that I'd spoken with a jerky rep.  I'm hoping it's not a scam.  Worse thing, they have confirmed my cell with my name.  Oh well.  She said she removed my number from their calling list and it did it right on the spot.  Hopefully they don't keep calling...

Got a call this morning (Sunday) at 8:03 AM picked up and like everybody else got the "this call is very important" message.  14 minutes later, some foreigner gets on and asks me for my account number - told them I had 8 different accounts, which one they wanted.  They immediatelly asked for my social security number, of which I told them it would not make a difference because all 8 accounts were attached to my social security number.

I then decided to "manage" the call.  I told him since he was using an autodial system, it should show him my account information for the call he is initiating.  Many moons ago, I worked at a Chase call center here in the US and know what shows up on the screen when a call is routed to your queue.  I asked him to validate the address that they were calling for since that shows up too - which he could not.  I told him that I needed to understand what the escalation process was of which he said there was none. I then told him that the call was being recorded, and he hang up immediatelly.  Calling the number back stated that Chase was closed on weekends.

The 1-800-848-9380 is certainly a Chase phone number, however, scammers have come up with "CallerID Spoofing"

Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to display a number on the recipient's caller ID display which is not that of the actual originating station; the term is commonly used to describe situations in which the motivation is considered vicious by the speaker. Just as e-mail spoofing can make it appear that a message came from any e-mail address the sender chooses, caller ID spoofing can make a call appear to have come from any phone number the caller wishes. Because of the high trust people have tended to have in the caller ID system, spoofing can call the system's value into question.

    See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing

I speculate that one of several scenarios might have gotten our information to these scammers, who unsurprisingly speak very little english and most of the times (if not all the time) with a foreign accent:

    1.  At some point in time your account information was compromised - telltale sign, Chase sent you a new bank card and told you that your old card may have been compromised.

    2.  Scammers are working in cahoots with bank tellers who capture your name and phone number and supply the information to these scammers.  I am always suspicious of these underpaid tellers when you go through the drive through banking window and they leave their workstation with your payment slip and "disappear" to the back to "process" it.  If you make a payment, it is better to do so at the front office since it is difficult for them to "record" your information - ever noticed what the high turnover of the staff at the drive through windows at chase is?

My advise to all is that if you receive a call from this number after hours tell them that the call is being recorded and traced...  Hopefully, that will separate the scammers from the real Chase folks.

This number is calling DAILY - three and four times a day - on my cell phone no less .  I have never answered and won't answer because I don't answer calls from an 800 number.  What I can't figure is HOW they're calling when I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.  I do not have any Chase accounts nor am I deliquent in any of my payments for anything.

I received a call from then several times today.  Thankfully I looked up their number and found this site.

This is probably not the right thing to do, but when they called again, I answered, "FBI.  How may we help you?"  They immediately hung up and never called back.

It's the "collections dept." for JP Morgan Chase.  They won't stop until you are "current" in your payments.

The above poster advising that it is an outside collections agency representing Chase is correct.  However, it is not limited to mortgage collections calls....it can be in regards to any previous loan/credit with Chase Bank in general.
