Ditto on what Jeff writes.  on you "cease and desist" warning I would advise you add your property physical address, your mailing addy and your loan number.  The tip about the statement that you fully intend to honor your debt obligations is a good one as is the addition of the phone number and the specific language (e.g. cease and desist - it has onerous legal overtones that scare collectors and banks).  The fax number for Chase Collections is valid.  Asking for written confirmation of the message is a good tip too (albeit most fax machines will print out a verification that the message went thru - you may want them to reply in writing that they understand).

Opinion: do not know why Collections calls to collect before payment is due other than (my opinion) they are either nervous about late loans in this economy or they want their money earlier so they can play with it longer.

They call us at least 5 times a day.  It seems like a total spam.  I don't know how to block their calls.  I already have signed up with the do not call lists all over... but somehow they managed to have found us...

Calls consistently everyday, answered once and the person had a foreign accent claims to be a chase representative. told me this call maybe recorded.  Hung up after that.

I work at a retail store and I am SOOOOO sick of this number calling about 5 times a day. I wish there was some way to stop this BS!!! I answer the phone all day long and then somebody hangs up on me. I wish they would report this to the no call list WHICH WE HAVE SIGNED UP FOR BUT IT STILL KEEPS HAPPENING!!!

good grief they phone all the time today at 8:13am, 9:16am, 12:5pm, 1:37pm, 3:18pm 4:31pm - that's just today - how do I make it STOP

Glad I looked at this site. I got two calls within half an hour at 8:30 this morning. The first woke us up; for the second, I was awake, heard a foreign accent, cussed the woman out and said "put me on your do not call list," then came up here to see who was calling. When I saw all the reports that it was Chase (with whom I have a VISA card and a second mortgage), I checked my online banking. Looks like somehow I missed my November 1 mortgage payment and owe a late fee, so I immediately programmed two months' worth! D'oh! In eight years I had never missed a payment....ouch.

But that's still no excuse for "UNAVAILABLE" appearing on the Caller ID and no message being left on the first call. If they want to call with something REAL, leave a G-D message and don't call at 8:30 on a Saturday! Cardholder security for credit cards ALWAYS leaves a message. If they want to tell you you missed a payment, why can't they do the same?

Just started calling me yesterday, they foreclosed on my home a year ago, I have answered the phone and they hang up on me. I have no idea what they want and frankly don't care.

get into your account and change the contact number to the rejected hotline. You will not get a call again.

Chase Home Finance keeps calling for ex-employee.

Requested three times to be removed from calling.

Try to call back but automated system says it has to have an account number or a social security number to go any further. Stupid automated systems.

they call at one o'clock in the morning and five or six times a day that one o'clock am morning that is ilegal.chase you are breaking the law,and you are not above the law the ftc fcc and other law agencies should take action!

FRAUDULENT FRAUD FRAUD- DO NOT TELL THEM ANYTHING.

Calls daily several times, do not leave any message.  When I call back, I get busy tone.

Please make sure to write to your congressmen and Obama.  They bailed out Chase, yet Chase doesn't want to share that with their mortgage holders.  Been trying since April to get on the Making Home Affordable plan.  Each time they call for payment, I tell them this.  They say it could take 120 days.  I tell them that 9 months is more than 120 days.  They hang up.  They are scum.  So is Citibank.  Both should be hit with serious fines for getting bail out money... and just playing with the interest and not using it for their customers.

Also shows that more then likely the collections dept is outsourced to a 3rd party who can only process payments and doesnt have access to your chase account information (online billpayment araangements and history) due to credit privacy laws.I personally request them to prove they are who they say they are buy varifying my last payment and or currently scheduled one which they cant. This leads to my ability to tell them that I am concerned that this is a phishing scam and that unless they can validate this information that I will not continue the call.
And lets be honest yes its fun to torment them back however if the Chase doesnt trust the company handling its collections to confirm prviously scheduled payements then why would I want to trust them with handling my payment.

Total Scam! Send that Cease & Desist Letter then a Recission Letter. Pay them nothing. Make them go Bankrupt! They bought all of Wamu's mortgages loans for...($.10 on the $1.00) I know. So your..$300K mortgage was bought by these scum for..$30K..they have no reason to help you. They will foreclose and lie to you like they did to me. A Perfect customer till I lost my job & wife! I had been getting alot of calls from this number both at home and on my cell, and they would never leave a message. I called back and sure enough got Chase Bank. But something was fishy about the whole thing. Today I got a call on my cell from them and decided to answer it. The connection was crappy, lots of static. Then some heavily accented guy from India proceeded to tell me that I was late on my mortgage payment, and would I like to give him some payment info over the phone. I asked him for his name, he said Mike, I asked about his last name and after a pause he said Smith. I started cracking up and told him that he did not sound like a Mike Smith and asked him the name of his supervisor. I was laughing so much at him by now that the scammer just hung up.

We receive 6-7 calls a day from 1-800-848-9380. After answering the phone and they realize it is not who they are looking for they rudely hang up! This goes on everyday! What do you do to stop the calls! It would be great if they would at least leave a message or actually talk when the phone is answered.

Since Chase took over for Wamu, they have been calling me every month BEFORE I'm late!  I have until the 16th until it's late, and I always call and phone in a payment on the 16th.  Chase debt collectors have been calling me as early as the 1st.  As soon as I can, I'm refinancing with another bank.  I was livid to find out a debt collector was calling me when I am not behind, nor late on my payment!

Motive behind all this Madness?  Money.

OK DAY 3 OF HAVING A NEW NUMBER I AM NOW UP TO 3 DIFFERENT COLLECTION AGENCIES CALLING ME FOR 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE.  I JUST GOT THIS FREAKING NUMBER AND ALL THAT CALL ME ARE COLLECTORS FOR OTHER PEOPLE.  ELEVEN YEARS OF PEACE AND QUIET AND NOW A BUNCH OF IDIOTS THAT THINK I AM LIEING ABOUT THESE PEOPLE LIVING HERE.  HOW DO I MAKE THEM STOP I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY EXTRA MONEY TO HAVE CALL BLOCKED FROM PEOPLE I DONT EVEN KNOW AND WERE NEVER EVEN GIVEN THIS NUMBER....  WHAT ABOUT MY RIGHTS..
