Missed a few calls form this 8008534000. I don't have a caller id, and my answering machine was off. I checked here and it's listed as one of the reported numbers. Anyone else got these calls? Who was it?

Just now trying to track this one down myself.  They called my sister's  cellphone looking for me. Said it was Ed Kennedy from law office of Don Durak But the spelling of the last name is surely wrong.

he said that i own $6,000 dollars from 2000
to one if their client from Citizens Bank. He want me to give him
my checking account #.

I said, "[***] NO"

I check my credit record every six months. I don't own Citizen Back, [***]

Becareful guys, This number is smell FRAUT!

Calling.   Threatening legal court actions.  Have wrong party.

Got a call from the same company.  Since I do not live in U.S, the message was left on my brothers answering machines (same last name) A lady with African American accent asked me to call 1-800-853-4000.  I called that number using a VOIP phone (Remeber do not call them from your regular phone, use Skype or other service to call these suckers) I asked the person who picked up the phone of their location and she said they are based in Pennsylvania.  I am 100% sure these were the same people who are harrasing everyone on this thread.

Call from 215-642-3400-Said he was associate with Law Firm of Don Burak and call him back at 1-800-853-3400.
After reading the post,s about this firm,I will not be calling back.
If anyone receives calls from either of these numbers please read the available post's before returning any calls

I received a voice mail message on my machine that I had to replay several times just to get the phone number because the woman spoke so fast.  The number she left was 800-853-4000 and she said this was the law office of ________ (couldn't understand) and that it was in reference to a claim (she left that number slowly and even repeated it) and then said I must call immediately.

Well, I am immediately deleting that message (and any future ones) from my answering machine after reading all of these posts.  Thanks all!

My wife received a call from the "Law Offices of Donald Durak"
They left it on our answering machine.Very quick message had to replay it several times to hear what they said. Also they were very rude and disrespectful. Acct. from 7 yrs ago owing $3500. I called back to see if they were a legal comp. and spoke to the RUDE man and let him know he would not get anything out of no one the way they conduct business. After that he hung up on me. I was very polite. Wait for someone else to take over.

Sorry the correct name of this place is Law offices of Donald Burak.

where it is reported this collection agency made an unauthorized check withdrawal from a man and woman's checking account. We'll try to alert our bank re this ahead of time.

I almost ended up in the hospital, I suffer from high blood pressure and anxiety, after they accused me of owing $5000 from 2001 to Direct Merchants Bank.  they later asked me to pay the $5000 before noon (on a weekend) or I would be sued. They insisted on getting my Soc security # which I did not provide.  My conversation took place with a Ms. Regan then all of a sudden a Mr. Mclaine started to insult and tried humilating me in order to force information from me.  Once I repeated told them they were not gettting information they made sure to hang up quickly and threatened to put negative info on my credit report and sue me.  What clarified all fo this was me calling Direct merchants myself to see if there were any negative accounts with my soc security #. When I called anonymously the mailing address I was given was  3325 Street Road

I received a call over the weekend and another on Monday from this scam artist.  I told him he couldn't collect anything because of the statute of limitations apply.  I am, as should all of you, report him to the Pennsylvania Board of Attorneys and request he be investigated for fraud.  The more people do this the more action will be taken and we can get this smuck in trouble and out of our lives.  Do not be deceived by this person.  Know what's on your credit report and find out the statutes of limitations on collecting a debt that's not the original debt.  Check with the credit bureaus also and find out the limitations and what they CANNOT do and report this jerk of all jerks.  Also, it is illegal to buy bad debts and post them as current.  The minute you stopped paying on a debt or had any correspondence with the debtor is the day your debt began.  They CANNOT bring a past debt to a current date.  IT IS ILLEGAL.  Carol

Correction on above....Report him to the Pennsylvania BAR Assoc.  They investigate corrupt attorneys, if he indeed is one and can have him disbarred.  The more of you who report him to the Bar Assoc.  we can get him disbarred.Carol

Guy called and asked for me, I was changing one child, my wife another, she asnwered then our child pulled cord of phone and it disconnected. Guy called back and said my wife rudely hung up on him (idiot).

Said they were calling about a breach of contract, going to contact the county prosecutor, said I could call back before 9:00 est or have my attorney call 1-800-853-4000 ext 219.

Donald S. Burak, is a Collect America franchisee; we receive a high volume of complaints on him from consumers based on his debt collectors making threats of an immediate lawsuit, garnishment of wages, revealing the debt to third parties. His collectors are VERY unprofessional--they are crude, abrasive, uneducated, and show low esteem and crudeness in their delivery.

Consumers contacted by the slime working at Burak are encouraged to tape all calls, and make them put everything in writing. NEVER trust a low life Burak debt collector.

Called about my brother-in-law stating someone filed a complaint about him (he has never lived at this number...why do they have it on a complaint?)  I called back and asked how she got my number...mine is listed in maiden name.  They said they looked it up.  She got really defensive when I caught her lying...
