- LhowI last signed up for this insurance a couple of years ago then cancelled. No charges show up anywhere else on my statement, accept there was a charge of 24.95 placed there on 10/5/09. Trying to research info. on this company by doing revere look-ups, etc. is almost impossible. That, in itself, leads me to be suspicious.

- Parents' communicatorMy mom found out that they charged our account. I looked this number up on google before calling them, and I discovered this website. The bank manager told us to call the number and tell them that we want to cancel "the contract". What they will do is they will send you the papers for cancellation. Fill them out, send them back, and you're free.
I actually just called them 5 mins ago and "talked things out". They tried to tell me that it is a life-long insurance and has nothing to do with the bank. It would still be affective even though I closed the bank account. After all, they said they will send me the paper works.
I will update more when the papers arrive.
Good luck. - dvdaltonI am another victum. I did recieve something in the mail about getting free coverage on Ad&d through my checking account. I called to inquire about it and they said it was free, unless you get a higher life insurance coverage called "the family plan" They tried to sell me on this but I informed them I have no family so it's not for me. They charged me as well, like everyone else here. I called them and said I didn't want this insurance just the free coverage that my bank is suppose to give me, They sent me a paper to fill out to get back my money. ($24.00) a month. That was last July. I asumed it was just not returned to me. Until today when I saw that they have continued to charge me on my bank card. I called and spoke to Gladice, a customer service rep. She wasn't very nice when I told her my story. She acted like I was lieing. She says she is canceling the acc, and I doubt I will see any refund. She still tried to sell me a family coverage knowing my story here! They are rip-offs.
- Rose replies to BruceWe went throught the same thing after my mother in law passed away. She was told it was LIFE insurance when she spoke with them, and my husband was also told it was LIFE insurance. She discussed how much she should get with them and with my husband (her son), and so she paid extra so that nobody would have to worry about paying for anything when she died. So 2 years later, she dies of cancer, and this company tells us they aren't even going to bother sending us any claim forms because she didn't die because of an accident. After 3 days of calling and arguing with these people, a nice lady FINALLY agrees to send us the claim forms. Yeah - we know we'll get denied, but I want that paperwork so that we can file with the PA AG's office, the BBB, and all our local politicians. If they aren't guilty of fraud or theft by deception then they at least should show some shame at having taken advantage of and lied to an old lady. Shame on them.
- Diep Pham - Ngoc Tram Hoang - Oct 27, 20I did not know this company. Why you charge my checking account for $148.50. I don't know who you are,I want my money back

i might have to call them again!
im pissed - kevinI called this number when my bank reported an automatic debit from my checking account with this number attached. When I complained to the bank they told me I had to contact them, the phone number, them being some AD&D company. I NEVER allow anything to be deducted from my account automatically so I knew this was not right. How these people got my account number I do not know. Anyway the first time I called they would not tell me anything about the policy, like who was the beneficiary or how I came to their attention. I asked for the policy in writing but that could not be arranged. I asked to cancel the policy but this proved frustrating as I had difficulty understanding the young man. I think I have cancelled the policy and was told that a confirmation letter would be forthcoming. I wonder, though. Does anyone know what state or federal agency to contact about this ? The BBB is useless for this sort of thing and I am worried that my account information may be out there for other people to access.

- akageorgeI also received a surprise charge of 20.25 on my checking account statement. As a previous poster stated, this is Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance.
I have the $1000 complimentary policy offered by my bank, and I have the original paperwork from The Hartford with my policy number, which matched part of the info line on the account statement.
I checked previous bank statements and this is apparently the first time I have been charged.
I called my bank first, and they told me to call AD&D, but took a note about the problem in case they get more calls.
I called the 800 number and they had all my contact information under that policy number, but said I had the $1000 plus a $50K family policy -- which I never signed up for or authorized.
The rep offered to send me paperwork (to arrive in 5 to 10 business days) to change the family policy to an individual policy. I said no, I wanted ONLY the complimentary coverage. OK, he said, he could cancel the policy and I will receive a confirmation letter in 5 to 10 business days, but before he did that ... (insert extended sales pitch).
He finally agreed to cancel the policy and send the letter. However, to get a refund of the unauthorized charge, I have to call back in 10 days.- Caller: AD&D
