    Contacted my bank regarding a $16.50 charge to my checking account without my knowledge. Turned out to be ADD (Accident Death & Disbursement) - an insurance company. They said I had signed up for the insurance through PNC Bank, but I never did. I'm thinking it was one of those notices in the mail that if you don't check, they assume you're agreeing to their product.

    The guy on the phone said (after I said no 3 times) he would cancel the insurance and in order to get my $16.50, I'd have to fill out a refund request form which he'd mail to me. Urgh.

    I called them after a withdrawel from my grandparents account.  They have been billing my grandparents since 2002, what the heck?   They cannot provide a contract that was signed and are telling me that I have to wait to cancel the account.  Hello!!!! Nobody ever signed up for it.

    they got me today $16.50 out of my mothers account, going to call bank and see if they can fight it.  I called the number and it says "hit star for more information" then it says " to sign up for this service respond "Y" to the following text message.  WHAT THE HECK

    I am so confused because i don't recall signing up for insurance either. They took $90.00 from my account that caused a negative and i got charged $25.00. I can't seem to get any from that phone number to answer. I will report this to the BBB. This has obviously been going on a while since there are postings from year 2008.

    I so agree with you. This has been going on too long. I want my $90.00 plus my $25.00 back for my nfs fee. They need  to be shut down!

    I was charge for the premium, which someone else mentioned they are debited quarterly which is correct. We did sign up for the insurance policy offer that we received by mail. However we did not realize that it was only accidental and decided to cancel it. I just called they were very nice and said I would get a credit within 7 to 10 days. I will let you know what happens

    I have same problem, ADD discount to my account $60.75 I recive some letter for free $1000 but I don' recive any letter back for answer me, now the only what I have it this fone numer 1800-860-7182.  I need to know what step follow to cancel it.

    I received correspondence from my bank and although I never responded to it or signed or authorized any coverage my account was debited.
    All you have to do is phone 8008607182 and request that the coverage be canceled and that your money be refunded. The customer service representative will try to pitch you but just cut them off and make your request. It is important to note that they will only make refunds 7 business days after the 10th of the month so it is important to catch the debits as soon as possible.

    I was charged $84 for this policy.  When I called I had to select yes or no as a policyholder.  I asked to cancel and the phone call was dropped.  I am asking my bank to cancel this and requesting the forms now. Don

    Ad&D Rip me off
    I just checked my checking account recently, I found  AD&D 800-866-7182 have withdrawn my money $121 for over couple years, back to May 2008.

    I call to my California Credit Union, she told me to call Insurance Company and they gonna send me the copy of the policy and ...........?

    I have never signed up for any type of this insurance.  

    How we gonna fight for these type of fraud?

    I just noticed a withdrawal from my account to this outfit. It was only 13.62, but I didn't sign up for it... You can imagine what my phone call to my credit union is going to sound like on the 7th... I didn't authorize this at all.

    I just realized that $54.37 has been withdrawn by AD&D800-860-7182 from my account for the past several months. Neither me nor my husband ever authorized this. I'm contacting my Credit Union first thing tomorrow. I want all my money back.

    I am replying to my own message. The AD&D number is good. This was something my husband obtained through our credit union to cover payments on a vehicle in the event that he was accidentally killed. We no longer need this service so I have cancelled the insurance draft on my account. I guess that they would have just keep drafting it unless I had. Watch for stuff like that.

    thanks to nemo's replies above, I called the 800 number and CANCELLED the AD&D insurance that I do think I remembered siging up for - but which I THOUGHT was regular life insurance.  THANKS nemo !!!!

    exactly why havent they been caught! or had a lawsuit for that matter. i got online tonight to check my bank statement ((i do it online through my bank instead of the mail for this very reason)) i noticed i was in the negatives bad. i started looking and this number was attached to a withdrawl of $99! im going to my bank first thing in the am!

    HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS!

    Does anyone know what to do if we called the number & they say they have no record of our info on file? I had this problem & never authorized or signed up for anything. After calling the number they told me they have no record of me, so how would i call to cancel & prevent future debits?  Should i just go through my bank & close the account?

    I am not one to check my bank statements, however I do keep a close "eye" on my account balance via atm inquiries and online banking.  I receive Social Security Disability and happened to check my account online today and I see a charge for $121.50 from AD&D!  Again, I say my ONLY income is from SSD, I am on a tight budget; I cannot afford life insurance.  I never would have entered into this policy...Seeing as I don't keep my hard copies, I am only allowed to go back 1 month, so first thing in the morning I'm heading to my bank to see whether or not this is the first charge or not!  To say the least, I'm pissed!
