Got a call from this number.  The caller ID says "Bills Bill".

Low life company. They call with a caller ID that has no name attached. When I answered with my company name, they just hang up. How do I know they are Calvary? They called yesterday as well.

They picked a good name for their company - because they all should be crucified.

Number kept calling house phone. Was mad when they called the last time and answered. Mistake on their part. When I asked what the call was about, the woman says" I need to verify information first." No you called me. I don't give personal information. What do you want? She then proceeds to give me a line of crap about HIPPA laws. I let her have, since I am a nurse and know HIPPA laws. Funny thing is the phone she called is not in my name. How did she get the number?

They call at a week's interval. The lady leaves this phone as a debt collector as Calvary Portfolio service (soft but not clear voice), her own name and phone not in a clear voice, leaves in a kind of hurry, perhaps to avoid detection, took time to figure out phone and name from couple of calls. Each time she called as a Private Caller. We don't owe any debt, so NOT worried at all.  Called, she wanted unnecessary information from us, did not make sense, clearly a SCAM. If there is a valid debt, they should follow Fair Debt Collection procedures. BEWARE. If they call you, ask them to write with proof. Don't provide any of your information.

The absolute best way to get them off the phone is to tell them that you do NOT authorize the recording of the call.  They cannot proceed...

Just got a call from this#, asked for me but my previous name of more than 5yrs ago, first clue that she had no idea who she's calling, 2nd thing is I got this number after name change. These companies"buy" debts that are already paid then try to say you still owe it. Told her I wasn't home. Will advise next time the 1974 Fair Debt Collection Act is being violated by them.

Called me and left a voice message that this message is from Cavalry Portfolios regarding debt collection. Didn't bother to call them.

Called asking if they could talk to ? said they were Calvary Portfolios and said they had a "personal debt" to talk about.

Got a call asking for some Ryan H H...whatever?  Thought I pick up and tell them wrong number, one one hear by that name. (Not even previous owners name). Just hung up.    Caller id pointed me here-people getting Sam calls from debt collector,, whatever.  he sounded like a investigator.   Now he know the line is active.   Never answer the phone!!

Receiving phone calls from 800-861-4840 several times per day; never leaving a message.  Finally left a generic call back message with just a phone number and extension number; no further details given.  We have no debit from any collectors.

Rec'd  a call while we were out. They left a recorded message saying something to the effect "This is a important message regarding debt collection. " A female voice.
Blocked the #.  Thanks all for leaving information on these scammers. We NEVER answer the phone unless the # is known to us.

Same as the others....   total BS..    Just BLOCK it.  Hopefully you have a phone that allows it.  If not, and you're using a cable provider.. THEY usually  have an online way to block calls...

They call me every now and then on a debt I had with CITI Bank Credit Card, before I lost my job, lost my house, debt is tied to house construction so it is a lot.  Who knew the market was crashing when it did?  Not my dumb@$$. It is way past SOL but they keep trying, even put it on my credit report as I owe them instead of CITI who has evidently wrote it off, would love to clear it off but it is noncollectable now so I won't lose any sleep over them, they probably got it for $0.01 on the dollar anyway.  I do feel bad about the debts but I tried to work things out and could not get anywhere.  I have paid all my other debts except this one and the mortgage deficiency.  I had to start all over, bad times.

So they haven't mailed you proof the debt exists and they have a right to collect it?
Sounds like a bottom-of-the-barrel debt collector got ahold of that information and is clumsily trying to make some money off of it.

Why didn't you file bankruptcy? These past-SOL debt collectors can't collect on any debt that has been discharged by bankruptcy; they can't contact you at all.

You need to contact the credit reporting agencies, if it has been more than 7 years since you made your last payment on that debt. Just because this outfit bought the debt doesn't mean they can sneak it into your credit reports.

Calls about once a week. No msg left. Had number blocked from.calling my cell. Bottom of barrel debt collectors. Won't talk or leave msg. Go bloon was on another person's dime not ours

Do you think they care that it's illegal? These people are crooks, scam artists. They don't care that their scams are illegal, and they don't care that calling a cellphone on a mythical list is illegal.
