- gpinoregon replies to bg907I already listed my ideas...but the websit has moved or disappeared. Type in New Motion and see what you get. Seems some out of country types are involved. Still trying for the refund. I still don't understand why Verizon does not use better protection methods...will be on the phone with them about that. Verizon wants me to block all my text abilities...go figure?

I also never punch in any password that they texted me.
it is those soliciting e mails that they sent people, never give anyone your cell phone no. in those e mail. or spam e mail. - starI was charged $9.99 as well onto my Verizon account. When I tried to call the number listed on my phone bill the automated service told me they were open from 7am-4pm Pacific time and that they were currently closed, it was 1pm, Pacific time when I called.I have emailed them as well asking for a refund.

- Mike replies to Luke McGowanI talked to Meghan at New Motion Inc. She informed me that someone in my family most likely signed up for this over the Internet. She said she would cancel the service immediately. I will know when I get my next bill. She said to get your money refunded you have to email, fax, or snail mail a copy of your phone bill showing the billing cycle with the charge from them on it. I wonder about that. I may call them back to find out why they need this.
- Willy| 1 replyI complained to Verizon about this charge and was told they were billed by another company(Bid4Prz) for the message sent. The Verizon rep called and cancelled the subscription for me and told me to contact the other company for a refund. I called them and was told I subscribed to Bid4Prz on a website called Photobucket. Haven't heard of either one, so have no clue how they got my cell phone number. Faxed my bill showing the charge to 949-777-3717. I was told they would send a refund check. We'll see.
Be persistent with all these fraudulent companies and keep informing others.- Caller: Bid4Prz or Photobucket.com

http://www.ClassActionConnect.com/?q=node/680 - whspencerI too, received a charge from 1-800-861-7414 . I called Verizon and was told it was a third party billing and they could not do anything about it. I spoke to a supervisor and was told the same thing but that he would transfer me to that companies number. Of course all I got was an answering machine. When I then looked up this website and found out what was going on, I called Verizon back and got a different person. When I told her I had a problem with an unauthorized billing and that it was a fraud, the first thing she asked was "Did you unsubscribe?"
She was obviously aware of this scam going on and put me on hold for a few minutes then told me she had unsubscribed me and backed out the charge.
It is OBVIOUS Verizon knows what is going on and can do something about it.- Caller: Bid4Prz3
- susiejwpAND this is why I dropped VERIZON years ago....strange charges started coming up on my bill and it took an act of congress to get them removed. Customer service with this company is non existant and they care nothing about nothing but the almight buck....sad, but true.

- Babes49I responded to ads saying free dinner for 2 at OLIVE GARDEN by just filling out the survey form.I did. But I noticed that there are more ads showing up one after another. I quit and canceled my inquiry. All of a sudden I'm getting these many e-mails 50 to over 100/day. Then, I got this bill of $9.99 3x. I did not allow these charges in my Verizon cell phone.I never subscribed on anything during the process of my inquiry. This is a big scam.
This whole scary thing happened in the last 6 days only.- Caller: Bid4Prizes
- Sandy replies to MsBlackI too have been scammed with thumbplay and bidforprize3. I don't understand how my verizon call records show that someone used my phone to access these
things. Verizon has blocked my txt messaging (I don't use it anyhow) and refunded the charges. Someone please tell me how they managed to use my phone when it's in my hands. - Sandy replies to gpinoregon| 1 replyI just called the 800-861-7414 and got a recording that confirmed that I had an active account (not true from my end) and allowed me to cancel over the phone. 27 August 07
Verizon still insists that I (or someone) used my phone to sign up for these services!! This is incorrect - so how did this happen???? - toygerSamething happened to me. I called 7414#, a girl claimed that they texted me a PIN# and activated the account for me after receiving my 'confirmation' text in July. I didn't send out even one message in July. She hang up on me. I called Verizonwireless. I told them that they should protect their customers. Anyhow, they should not collect payment from their own customers for any third party without the authorization. I told them that I'm going to cancel their service. Then, they said that they will give me my $9.99 x2 back.
