I'm an absolutely totally aggravated and pissed to say the least at Verizon!  First the lady puts me on hold several times during the process to dead silence, which made me suspicious.  Her response was that I had to have "confirmed" that I wanted to join their service, so obviously i voluntarily agreed to be charged.  Well that is absolute bull-hicky!  And then she said that because I didn't have the proof on the phone b/c I erased it, tehre is no way to know.  First of all, I didn't erase thse random txt messages I'd received a couple months ago.  The phone only lets you hold 50 msgs in teh inbox and they are automatically removed.  Secondly, if I had responded twice via txt msg agreeing to join their service, then I would see where I sent them msgs from me to them on my detailed statement.  THERE IS NONE!!  You can see where the company send 2 txt messages back to back, but I was on the receiving end, not sending.   ARGH!!  I'm so mad at Verizon!  The lady at first acted like this was some rare, random thing and I had screwed up.  It was obvious by the numerous holds and her suggestion that I "had to confirm twice" tells me they know more about this than they are admitting!

I just got off the phone with VZW and they did reverse the charges on my wife's phone.  That was after she'd talked to them three different times and had only gotten instructions on how to stop the "subscription".  I think the reason I got credited was because I pointed out to them that she was charged for THREE separate premium messages in three minutes from three different "companies" which sounded very much like a scam to me.  

Admittedly she did make a txt message to 58909 at 8:00A but never responded to anything after that.  I don't know what that was for but even if it was a request it was only for ONE of the charges!

yeah!!!!     this just happened to me!!  i had never heard of this company until it appeared on my phone.  any way to stop this?????  verizon seemed to blame me.  how can it be my fault when i never heard of this place??

i was billed $9.99 on my Verizon bill.  I never heard of this place.  Pisses me off.

I too got this charge on my Verizon bill....it happened when I signed up for a photobucket account.  When signing up it asks for a cell# and it says they will not call you. (They don't they just start texting you).  There is a box that you can uncheck if you do not want the promotion from guess who....Bid4prizes....This has to be illegal.  Verizon refused to credit my account stating that I signed up for it.  I will be calling them back tomorrow to get a credit.  If you reply 'stop' to the text do you still need to call and unsubscribe????

I'm livid.  Not only is New Motion (Bid4Prz) perpetrating a fraud, Verizon must be, too.  Did anybody else here notice that Verizon is the only phone company listed in the complaints here?  

I did get the 9.99 credited on my bill and I damn sure better not get another charge for it.

This is rediculous!!  We recieved a bill from Verizon for what they consider a "premium text" that we did not solicit, and Verizon is telling me that it's my problem.  HOW DID THIS COMPANY GET OUR CELL PHONE NUMBER?!  Verizon did end up removing the charge, which I do appreciate, but looking at this blog, it's obvious that this is an ongoing problem that Verizon should be looking into, especially since EACH AND EVERY ONE of these complaints is from VERIZON CUSTOMERS!!  I highly doubt this is just a coincidence!!  THIS IS CRAP!!  I'm not going to say that you should try and push Verizon around, but I also am not going to say that you should have to pay this charge.  I DID NOT SOLICIT THIS "PRIMIUM TEXT" and I will not pay for the charges!!

I was recently charged this and Verizon said that I signed up for this. The funny thing is that I just signed up for a wireless broadband account that was not capable of text messaging.  I had to call Verizon twice to finally get refunded the charge after stating that I had "Fraudlent Charges" on their bill, however, they are not sure if it will appear again next month. This is just ridiculous!

I used to like Verizon, but lately they are filled with surprises.

been getting calls from 800 861 7414.   I called back to discontinue subscription that i never order...tried the automated service and got the message that my number was not  listed..  Tried for live help and they are always closed.

same b.s. happened to me..I cancelled..I text messaged "stop"& "cancel" , I called and cancelled..the charge is still there, a month later..contacted verizon and they sent me back to the "you must cancel it" route..I never signed up for it in the first place...verizon says I don't have any authority because I am not listed on the account...(its my fiance's account) he even called and they said "so sorry you have to cancel it"...I think Verizon is in on this scam..I don't have authority to do any thing on the account..so how come I can be charged for something I didn't sign up for? (I wouldn't think I would have that kind of authority either)

What do you mean by a "third party vendor"...? I don't even know for sure what that means..I just want to get rid of bid4prizes and their text messaging scam..I tried sending a text message from my cell phone..(first and last time I ever even used text messaging) "cancel" nothing happened...I called them and told them to cancel..they said I didn't have an account...(makes sense, cuz, I never signed up for one)  but this month SURPRISE, another 9.99 charge from bid4prizes on the verizon bill..how is this possible..? Verizon is in on it..I bet

I received three text messages from this number @ $9.99 each!!! I called the number .. this is my third time having to be on hold.. each time has been at least 15 minutes before I cannot take hearing "thank you for waiting we are sorry for the inconvenience blah blah blah" anymore

A charge for $9.99 appeared on my Verizon bill under "Premium Text". Verizon tells me it's from Bid4Prizes.com and that I must have signed up or responded to a text from them. No, No, and NEVER. Called the customer service number (this one - 800-861-7414). After you're on hold for upteen minutes, it disconnects you.  Website has an "Online Support" button where you can supposedly 'chat with a live person'.  The link is phony - it doesn't take you anywhere. Can you say SCAM?

Just got off the phone with Verizon. They are FAMILIAR with this scam and they WILL credit your account - don't give up. It's important to say that you are calling about UNAUTHORIZED and FRAUDULENT charges.

Got the first unauthorized text message in Sept, ignored it.  Husband got the Verizon bill and asked me what kind of a text message I'd sent that cost $9.99.  Told him I hadn't done anything unusual, and dug back in my cell to see what he was talking about...it was the one I'd rec'd from Bid4Prizees, of course.  He called Verizon and got the charge reversed.  They gave him the instructions for me to text B4P stopping my account, and I got a return text from them telling me I wouldn't receive any more messages.

Damned if I didn't get another text from them yesterday!  I still have the frickin' text from them on my phone, telling me I won't get any more messages!  Tried to reach a human being through their CS line, but wasted 5 minutes and heaven knows how much $$ listening to automated voice messages every 10 minutes telling me how important my call was to them and how they were working hard to get to my call.  Then attempted to perform the "automated" stop, and the computerized voice told me my cell # wasn't recognized as one of their customers.

Total BS, and I agree that Verizon and probably Photobucket too must be in on it.
