Yes, so what would you have them do to validate it on the voice mail?  Tell everyone that you owe someone money?  Then get sued for doing that?  Your post makes no sense at all.

    harassed widow
A couple weeks after my stepdad died, they began calling my mourning and stressed out mother several times a day demanding payment for an ambulance ride.  My mother is on a fixed income and tried to negotiate monthly payments but they were extremely rude and demanded payment in full.   Had to block.

An Oscar Quintana called regarding a debt owed for Finger Hut.  I haven't used them in about 5/6 years and the debt was paid in full.  He had the correct name - wrong date of birth and last 4 of social security number.  He was very rude and called my work number.  After I advised that he had the incorrect person, he hung up on me.

I keep getting texts from them: Prof. Bureau of Collections of Maryland (texts from#52922) saying to call - they have an important info regarding my account. The problem? I've never had a student loan and I filed bankruptcy a few years ago so my credit is clean!

Texts are illegal and so is attempting to collect debt that has been discharged.  Looks like you have some money coming to you if you sue them.

    Annoyed at fake debt
first part of the call was cut off, but the voice mail message said "..a debt collector from Maryland. Please call us back at 800-866-2528 regarding this matter." If it were NOT a scam, they'd have mailed me. Since no identifiable information was given (my name, the debt type or anything else) i considered it a scam and blocked the number. I don't have any debts, so it is definitely a scam.

The Caller ID said it was Judith Madrigal & Associates, Inc. which is a medical firm based in San Mateo, California. I can only assume they take the name of a legitimate business and try to trick people into thinking they are real

That would seem the case to someone who simply doesn't understand Debt Collection laws, so perhaps go do some research and maybe you will feel differently about who really makes no sense, once you have a better understanding of what is allowed and what is not allowed in debt collection calls.

OK, please put your money where you mouth is.  Tell me exactly how my post makes no sense?  Please cite the exact section of the FDCPA that you are referring to.  Here, I'll even provide a link to it so you don't have to strain yourself looking for it:  FDCPA:   https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/pl ... actices-act.pdf
