Called stating that I owed a debt, asked for SS# and such which I didn't give.  They had some address listed as mine for which I've never lived at.   Then when asked them to provide material info on this so called debt they said they'd provide to me but still haven't

Used White Pages Reverse Phone Number Look Up to find the following:
    (800) 866-2528  Scam or Fraud
    Flagged as Debt Collector
    Spam Activity Level: High
Identified as a debt collection agency incorporated in Maryland -  PCBM

Evidently these same type of calls have been going on for years and this entity has been previously reported.  Why is it that PCBM can continue to operate in such a shady manner?  Scammer would be a more correct designation than debt collector.

I receive several calls per day, and they recently have started calling my place of work. I have told them to not call me at work each time they do.  Do I not have some rights?  The debt is my daughters, but I did co-sign for her.  I have asked them why they don't call her and they just laugh and refuse to answer. They won't even tell me who they are when they call.  They demand I given my information to them first.  I just want left alone

    Report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection    (Harassing calls, continuing to call at work when asked not to)

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

Send them a cease and desist letter.  This should be by US mail with a return receipt requested.

Finally you might have a private cause of action under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act but you will need
professional legal assistance for that remedy.

A woman named "Jocelyn," called my work number. Refused to provide a company name, and was asking very probing questions, such as: "Do you know where this person lives?" and "Do you have another number for her?"

Same here! I have been getting calls and unwanted text messages for months, all for someone named Tera. The numbers change, so it doesn’t make a bit of difference to tell them they have the wrong number. After the third or fourth one, I figured it was a phishing scam.

I have been getting telephone calls and text messages for several months now, all asking for someone named Tera. It doesn’t matter if I told them they have the wrong number, I continue to get calls, offers for insurance, today it was something about medical insurance.

I received a call from this number claiming to be from the Professional Bureau of Collections, Maryland Incorporated. The person never gave a name, but said to call back at extension 2202. I don't have any debts that I am aware of (I only have one credit card and it is payed off, and I have not taken out any loans), and I have never been to Maryland nor done business with anyone in Maryland - or with a headquarters in Maryland.

I have received multiple missed calls from this same number in the past. They either left the exact same (word for word, tonal fluctuation for tonal fluctuation) message or hung up after the phone rang twice. I only answered once, and when I did, the caller immediately hung up.
