- Mmm MmhmmA recording named Judy Jones called twice from this number, saying that she had an important message for Mmm Mmhmm or it sounded like that. The name had been intentionally garbled so that no one could tell what it was. There can be no doubt that this was a classic case of phishing.
She said that by continuing to listen to this message I had acknowledged that I was indeed "Mmm Mmmhmm) and that I should call her back at 800-866-2528 (Professional Bureau of Collections, she said) in reference to a debt.
I have not called her back since Mmm Mmhmm is not my real name. I did save the recordings though, as evidence that I am not the person she asked for, just in case the robot takes further action.- Caller: Professional Bureau of Collections

http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm - tWe keep receiving calls from PBC 800.866.2528 but identifies themselves as Citifinancial. Our issues are we do have a vehicle that was financed through Citifinancial that unfortunately due to the economy we were unable to pay. We tried to make payment arrangements but at that time we really didn't have the money. Our credit report shows that it was charged off. When they call they ask if we want to make outrageous payment arrangements but yet they don't know the year or model of the vehicle. We want to pay what we owe but we don't know how to go about paying someone that's saying they are someone they really are not and if it's showing it's charged off on our credit report do we still have to pay or will it be repossessed. It sounds kind of fishy... Suggestions anyone?

- Annoyed000Not even sure what is goin on. I read that this is a collections agency. But I have no debt... But they got my name right. I had my credit checked not even 2 months ago and it came up fine. And the message that they leave just said that I need to contact them right away the lady in the message didnt even say my name herself, it was a recorded robot lady voice then switched back over to the normal sounding lady voice. Didnt even leave a message as to why she was calling. Let me tell you, if I really owed someone money and it was the other way around. I think I would have left a message with a little more damn detail!

- Robert Nokes replies to no nameThey called and left a message today. The girl on the phone sounded VERY young and was laughing throughout the message! BE SMART AND DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE BACK UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!
- ManxThe voicemail listed this 800 number to call back if I was not the person they were trying to contact. But the vmail was super creepy, it kept saying I should hang up if I wasn't the right person, and if I didn't hang up then its an acknowledgment on my part to be the right person. But this message got played into voicemail? I may have debt but people who leave messages that don't say who, what, or whom they work for seem very shady and I'm always reluctant to call back!
- AnaThey called me at work and asked for boss who happens to be on vacation. They kept saying they had an appointment with her today and it's urgent that they had her phone number. I said it wouldn't work she's out of the country. Then they demanded to know details about her vacation. The girls name was "Amber" 1800 866 2528 x 2289 the company is called PBC.

- KayI just got a T-Mobile pay as you go phone since it was cheaper and has no contract. Apperantly, the people that had the phone before me used the number to rack up debt, this is just one of the many debt collectors that have been calling for them and no matter how many times I tell them that I don't know those people, they won't stop calling! I don't have any debt collections so why should I have to suffer? How do I get them to stop?
