This number called from an unknown number on my work phone.  They call and leave a message to call but when I do they dont know who I am.  I think if it is important enough that they want to speak to me then they can call from an unblocked number.

the company is actually called PBC, they are located in Colorado.  They are a collection agency.  If you have an outstanding debt, or a vehicle that needs to be repossed, your account was probably given to them by whoever you have a debt with.  Citifinaicial uses them so if you have a debt, that is why they are calling you.

I've gotten repeated calls from these people saying they have an an urgent matter for "another person".  I've called back and request once to have my number removed from their list since the person they are looking for is not the legal "owner" of the phone.  They asked if I knew this person.  I told them that was not the issue.  They told me they would remove my number from their system and there would be no more calls.  Wrong!!  After I recieved another call I told them the same information.  I told them that I'd heard that before and this time I would like the address so that I could have legal papers served.  They asked if i wanted a "lethal" address and I'm not sure why they assumed that.  I guess that when you're harassing people all the time you would get threats.  I've had problems with collectors before, never for myself, but people that have lived here before.  They would not give me an address or fax number so that they could be legally notified to cease.  I've found it here and plan to send them a form letter from the FTC, signature required.  I have successfully sued a company like this but folks be sure that you have damages.  In my state (MA) I'm entitled to treble damages if they act after recieving this demand.  So follow the legal avenue and get a massage, see your doctor for stress, etc., and charge it to PBC.  They kept talking and asked why I was shouting.  They never figured I had to shout because they wouldn't shut up and give me their address.  I figure that most of these companies are scumbags but what can you do.   Sue!!!  It works.  Be sure to supeaona an officer from the most distant office.  See how quickly they will settle.  Stand by and make them come to court.  Get the damages and be creative!  I often wonder what kind of person likes this type of work.  I wonder if they failed the test for a grocery bagger.  We'll see how it goes.  I could use some extra cash.  When the call was about the collector said something rude and I lost my temper and said "shut up b**ch".  Next time I won't be so nice.  It won't hurt to dial *57 and report a harassing call to your local police.  It cost money but you can bill it to PBC.  It will help your case.  Wish me luck.

Another way to deal with these scumbags, is to invest in an air horn and when they call give them a blast. Do this a few times they will stop.

More satisfying than doing nothing and less costly than suing.

LOT of suspicious & illegal activity. In all likelihood it's collections fraud at best. Some reason to believe that at least some employees are engaging in identity theft.

Client side email contact is invalid.

Would recommend against giving them information that they do not already have.

The only info they were able to provide me with was my phone #, name (attached to my phone #), and the name of one of my past creditors.

I worked for NCA Financial and they are definitely a crooked company. The owner, Michael Salbach, is now in a load of legal troubles for fraud, extortion, and various other things because of his business practices. He would hire tons of Russians and open lines of credit for the business in their names and use it to fund quite a lavish lifestyle. Meanwhile, he would barely maintain the correct tools, computer programs, etc. to run a halfway decent business.

But the training for the business was to be agressive. They would tell us call neighbors, employers, and anyone who we could to try to get information.

They won't call anymore because they aren't in business anymore!

    Mr Galindo
    Been leaving me messages regulary
So I called back. What a scam!!!!
The announce themselves as PBC Professional Buruea of Collections.
They are stating that I have an outstanding balance on a Dillards Card of $70. from a purchase my wife made.
First off I do not have a Dillards card
Second they had the name of my Wife as someone I have never heard of
Third the read back my address on file and it was not even close Wrong State, street, and city
They asked if any relative or sibling or any member of my family has that name,  They could not find a home phone or my SSN on file
Since they called my Work Number I was very suspicious to begin with since I would never give my work info to any cc or account of any type.
Be very careful what you give these folks they are digging (phishing) for info!!!!

    annoyed anon
Got repeated calls and finally called back to tell them to remove me from their records.  They confirmed that they saw my blocked number and asked for additional contact info so they check their records but I refused it and indicated the buzz on the Internet is that they are not legit and are just using this technique for harvesting contact info.  They adamantly insisted that was not true (of course) and they saw no other info for my number and finally indicated they would remove me from their records if I provided my contact info.  I asked how they could be a legit collection agency if they would remove my info like that, when they presumably purported to be calling me on behalf of some client I owed money to... they hung up and I have not heard from them since.
