- Annoyed| 2 repliesThey just keep calling and hanging up (that's it). They have called my place of business every other day, or so, for the last month. I always check here when i get calls as such, but this is the first time I've searched a number and no info was available. I figured I'd be the first to report. Any info on this number would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

- FrustratedThey call my work place at least once a week. It is always a recording, stating that they are a debt collector, and to call (the same number the call came from) and to provide the reference number the recording tells you. We just ignore it, like the rest of the calls that we cannot do one thing about.

- tee replies to Randy| 1 replythis is why I have a Google number. That is the only number I give out. When you get a call from someone you don't know or don't want anymore calls from, you can block that number. They will hear that the number has been disconnected. I also got a call from these people, and I blocked them.

I just, recently, got "Creditors' Discount and Audit Company" off my phone by contacting them by their website and mentioning Cease and Desist, and informing them, AGAIN!, that their Debtor don't live here and I ain't got a clue who your Debtor is! ... Now, "ERC" going to be pestering us?!!

I have to wonder why allegedly “legitimate” companies have to have so many numbers to call people.
Web page with alleged contact info: http://www.erccollections.com/contactus.htm
LinkedIn page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/enhanced-recovery-company-llc
BBB page listing them as an accredited business with a B rating?? Even though they have 918 complaints and 19 negative reviews: http://www.bbb.org/north-east-florida/busines ... le-fl-16000495/

So, the best things to do are to read the following, and make complaints at the provided links. Also, any communication with these criminals should be by certified, return receipt US mail only:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

- Kathy MorkenThey leave a msg that they're a debt collector ERC and to call back with a reference number. When you call them back, an automated message contains a survey of your age if you're over 50, 25 or under the age of 18.
- Caller: ERC
- Call type: Debt collector
- Billybob replies to AnnoyedERC dept collector, trying to collect on depts past the statue of limitations
- Sammy replies to Bonnie| 1 replySame here, ERC with a ref #, trying to collect on past statue of limitations
- BigA replies to SammyFirst, a statue is something you find in a park or a museum made of plaster or marble, or even concrete. A statute is a law. Now SOL, unless you live in Wisconsin or Mississippi, only controls the length of time they have to sue you, not the time they have to collect. SOL varies by state from 3 years to at least 10 years, sometimes more depending on the type debt. Now if you take the time to read the other posts instead of replying to one in the middle of the page, there is a post on here that tells you what you need to know and where to learn more.
- Disgusted| 1 replyEveryday I receive at least two calls from 800 869 7412. As well as to give the reference number 166561688 when I call back. Then they hang up.
