- Joseph DotyK & A are not Mormons. They are in Salt Lake City because the owner likes to ski and that area of the country has the best skiing around. The company was originally located in Florida.
- Mikey| 2 repliesKemp called me with the name of a deceased ancestor providing a name and state/year of death. I attempted to find this ancestor and any death record but could not, after an exhaustive search. I hired and expert in the state to search for this person's D/C or any proof of this person but no such person? Sounds like a scam to me...
- Caller: Kemp
- MR. T replies to jwtThis should be an example to everyone of just how thorough K&A is NOT. They take a scatter gun approach to finding the "rightful" heirs. There are other postings that indicate the same approach to getting a fish on the line.
- Skeptic replies to Joseph DotyDon't you really mean after the decedents debtsand Kemp/Kemp lawyers cut? What was the value of the estates to begin with? You can tell us without violating anyones confidentiallity rights, just don't mention any names.
- BillyBoB replies to Mikey| 1 replyWe started are quest with Kemp & Associates about 2 years ago and have recieved over 7 grand so far with one more pay out to go. All we did for this money was send them information, birth certificates, proof of relation to the deceased, etc. Thats it! Everyone wants to believe they are the so called "wise old owl" so to speak. That no one can "pull the wool over my eyes". The way I look at it is the more relatives that think this way makes for less people to share the inheritance, which makes more for me.
- BillyBoB replies to BillyBoBSorry! "our quest" not "are"
- Jessie replies to WHITTLE AWAY MOREHow long that take
- EdI was contacted by Kemp about an unnamed estate. We found later that seven cousins in the estate settlement were awarded $18,000 apiece. One cousin, my sister, who had ignored Kemp's urgent requests to sign paperwork, recieved the full amount immediately. The other six of us donated $6,000 apiece to Kemp for their "hard work" are still hoping to see $12,000.
It would have been worth $6000 to me if I had just thrown Kemp's letter in the trash.- Caller: Kemp and Associates
- Angry as HellTO ALL-- You do know you can search for lost estates also, The seem to be a FRAUD. Why would someone give up money such as Ed ($6k) to get $18k. Think about it theyare calling you about a supposed estate with other family members. Don't you think someone over the last 20 years would have researched this? Looks like Kemp made 42k on Ed and his family and I bet my estate from my long lost Uncle Joe Bob that they will not find an estate.
As I said if there is one check the probate court in the county where the supposed family member and save you and tyour family $$. - Cpfoy replies to realdealDon't so it. Wait till someone calls from your family.
- Angry as Hell| 4 repliesAmazing no more post since the scammers have been outed here!! I'll mark it up to anotehr scammer beaten! Whose next?
- Jerry in Erie replies to jmtWhat ever happened. I to was contacted by this firm. Is it legit?
- Jerry In Erie replies to Angry as Hell| 3 repliesI got this Kemp thing going on here? Has anyone ever received any money. I am not signing anything.
- Marie Dean replies to Jerry In Erie| 2 repliesLast year Kemp contacted me saying I may be an heir to a large sum of money!
The name they provided was from over 4 generations ago. When asked if this had anything to do with a recently deceased relative they became evasive with any details. As chance would have it, we were contacted by the court attorney in charge of the estate and never got involved with Kemp. In the end, the rightful heirs received the full amount without Kemp's enormous fee. You should be very cautious if you choose to work with them. - willjones ny replies to Marie Dean| 1 replyOur family has been contacted by Kemp and we have received the packet. Just curious if anyone can give us an estimate on how soon after hearing from Kemp did they here from the court attorney representing the estate? A week, a month, a year? Did a bit of investigative work and think I know who the relative is that died-actually very closely related- so it would not be difficult for the court worker using "due diligence" to find us. Has anyone else been in this situation? We would just like to know if we should hold off signing anything (we have full confidence in Kemp being legitimate) we would just prefer not to lose that 33% if it is going to transpire anyways. Seems as though Kemp is rushing to beat the court attorney in their notification of our involvement. The relative had no will and has been dead just over a year (15 months). We are in NY and the relative also lived in NY. Thank you
- One Estate Administrator replies to Robert A. BarrettIt is now March 2013. This evening I am hearing the name John Barrett and Kemp & Associates from my niece. I will know more tomorrow during a meeting with the Probate Court designated estate attorney, and after receiving and reviewing the Kemp and Associates documents she signed.
- Marie Dean replies to willjones nyIf you know the relative that passed away, you should contact the city attorney where he lived. We were in a similar situation and received our full inheritance from the state. I'd recommend not signing anything from Kemp. In our case they would have taken a lot of $ for not much work. They were so deceitful in our families case, I now check this site occasionally just to let people know how we were treated by Kemp and Associates.
- Marie.Just had a call on my answering machine yesterday . Then recieved the letter this morning fromFedEx The deceased person they named died almost 100 years ago.She was my grandmother and died when my mother was 2 years old.If my mother were alive she would be 98 years old. Also I just recieved a call from some man telling me I just won 2 million dollars all I had to do was get him a 200 dollar money card. When it rains it pours. I am 74years old and am really enjoying the golden years. Kemp and Associates are idiots and I hope they don't hurt to many older people
- Caller: Kemp and Associates
- Craig Hasbrouck| 1 replyOf 12 heirs my 87 year old mother was the only one who got a letter from Kemp. Thank god she didn't sign before callihg the estate lawyer to ask if it was from them, This is a rip off. All they do is search public records. Believe me the estate will find you!
- ldne replies to peeved? A relation of some kind, even one unknown to both parties, certainly has more claim to an estate than the government does, which is who ends up with it if there are no heirs.
