Actually you can be sued for money owed by companies other than the government.  If you have accounts of any sort that have gone to collections and if has not been paid or payment arrangements made they can sue you for the money.  I know people it has happened to.

You must be a very lonely person, some of us get a lot of calls from numbers we don't recognize, maybe your family doesn't like you very much! maybe you don't have any friends as i'm sure i wouldn't with an attitude like that. if you want to be helpful post something useful, if you  just want to be mean and already ran out of people who might have tried to love you, look in the mirror and see what ignorance the world cant win against. Ruma, you ruined my day!  im sure that, if anything, makes you happy

Well, I have 70$ balance due the 17th, but I mean its not the 17th so, erm. Lol? I do admit I did just pay 93.00 like 3-4 days ago and it might have been a automated call that still was made because my payment was still pending before being posted officially in their system I guess. Otherwise I dont get why they would call over having an account "current". I try to keep any charges out of past due, otherwise I'd expect service interruption until I have the account current. They have let me go as far as 2-3 grace days past 150$ charge so they have leniency, but i have been turbo customer for like 6 years, and standard customer for 12-13, so the account has some seniority to it I guess. I hope spectrum isnt a different policy, because I dont recall ever receiving calls before. Then again, they called my cell instead of the digital phone I have through their modem, lol....

Time Warner employees monitor these types of boards as part of their job and tell you NOT to report them or give misleading info so you continue to think that it's ok for Telemarketers can call. IT IS ILLEGAL IF YOU PROVIDE NOTICE NOT TO CALL. PERIOD.

Notice the tone of those who post that give the appearance of an authoritative tone. Time Warner and other companies monitor Twitter, Facebook. blogs, etc. to try to provide misinformation. DO NOT BE FOOLED. You have a right to be left alone. Use common sense. I use an iPhone and I just put them in my blocked list. And they never leave a message.

There are TONS of scams from unscrupulous people, and you should never give out information, or sign up for anything from people who CALL YOU. If you want to speak to that company, call THEM on numbers that are provided on bills or their https:// websites.

What gets me is that they take advantage of the elderly and those who are infirmed. Americans that are most vulnerable. That's the lowest of the low. It's ashamed on how greedy companies (and people) are who will sell their soul for a few bucks. Damn shame.
