5.25.18 @ 2:30 PM-- "Spectrum" (800-892-4357)-- Caller hung up when call was picked up by answering machine; so most likely a SCAMMER, using a spoofed name and number.  NEVER answer these types of calls!

the computer controls the calling, so if you want them to stop, this is going to take a L O N G TIME, but it works, I had gotten the callers to reduce calling me so much, had ben getting five or more a day, got it down to 1 or 2 a week, sometimes less, I am getting calls again, because I picked up a call thinking it was a call from the nursing home I was transferring my relative to, but it wasn't, it was just a hang up, that is the computer checking that the number is valid, if you answer, the computer says that it is valid and passes it on to the scammers, so this is what you need to do, turn off your voice mail and answering machines and if you do not recognize the number or the name do not answer the call, this will take a  L O N G  time, maybe a year or more, but you should start to see some results in the first 6 months, then just keep it up and eventually you will find the silence oddly strange, not hearing the phone ring off the hook, please pass this on to others and maybe we can get the scammers the message to go and jump in to a vat of acid.

one more thing, they might try to pass themselves off as a charity do not answer.

Jerk calls. Could barley understand him because of a thick Indian accent. When I mentioned that they call far too often and that I was going to block the number, he said that it wasn't possible. Already done!

They tried telling me they could lower my bill and kept saying something about Direct TV. The caller ID (obviously spoofed) said Spectrum. They didn't seem to realize these were two different companies. This is the second time these scammers called me with this lame line of crap.

The gentleman identified himself as a caller from Time Warner Cable he asked me about how much I paid for a bill. I told him that I was not sure. He asked me if I had home phone, cable, and internet services. I said yes and then he said thank you and hung up.

Yes I blocked it. thanks. Time-Warner/Spectrum, which I do have, would leave a message. Or write a letter or send an email. They may well have a similar 800 #, but I think it comes up on cell phone ID.

NOT Time Warner.  Says so ... but the person (heavy Indian accent) is trying to sell a "reduced cost service."

Seriously? You think that some person who posted here 3 years ago can tell you what time your appointment is?  Here is a hint:  Call them directly and ask.
