Called me on Sundays afternoon. I know it is illegal for them to call Sundays. I didn't answer the phone. I just had death in my family. But calling on Sunday? wow

"I know it is illegal for them to call Sundays."  Really, could you give us that law?  I know you are not referring to the federal FDCPA.  Now I am sorry for your loss, but the facts are that the permanent solution to this problem has been posted several times in this thread.  I even referred to those pages in the post directly above yours.  Maybe you should spend your energy reading and using that information?

I just got a call from this number.  It was an automated call.  Press 1 if I wanted to take the call in English and then they wanted to verify my name.  I did not give them a chance to connect me to anyone as they said they were a debt collector and I know I don't owe anything a debt collector would call me for.  I called the number back to make sure of their name.

I have been receiving these calls for a while, actually looking for my brother.  The first time I tried to call the number back it did not go anywhere.  I tried again today and got to speak with someone.  The person was very nice and removed my number from their list.  We'll see if the calls stop.

I have this number blocked and showed up on my blocker 2 times in the last few days.  This seems to be a debt collector.  Have no idea why they are calling as I do not have any debts!

This caller has called me 100’s of times each month and continues to do so. What are the laws concerning harassment using the phone lines?

The legal requirements for harassment are pretty high and unless you have answered the vast majority of the calls from them and can show you are not the person they are looking to collect a debt from and they have been informed of that fact, you have not reached the level of harassment. Unanswered calls are assumed to be party not at home or otherwise unavailable and they may call repeatedly that day until you answer.  Only if you have answered and are the party they are seeking do the debt collection rules on calls per day kick in.  If you are not, you need to send them a Certified "Not Me" letter.  See the posts on pages 64, 66 and 67 for where to send a letter.

There is no tort call "harassment".  You would have to persue this under the FDCPA and the judge would have to make a determination as to whether they "harassed" you.  One of the first things that would be asked however is whether you attempted to mitigate damages by exercising your rights under the law?  Have you?  Do you know what they are?  Have you referred to any of the posts I mentioned on August 2nd?  That post is right here on this page. I see that Mike-in-MD has posted basically the same info as well. Maybe you should read it?

This number continually calls. It is a robo call so there is no person involve to speak to. I don't answer any longer but they leave messages on my answering machine. I am sick of the daily calls and have a spotless credit record.

Got 3 calls from 800-900-1380 in the last two days.  I didn't answer any of the calls and they didn't leave any message.  Caller ID showed caller name.

800-900-1380 calls just about every day sometimes more then once. Never leaves message. I have never heard of Penn Collections. If they want to contact me they can send me a written letter via US MAIL with a return address and signature on it so I know who I’m dealing with.

This number calls me almost every day a couple of times. Never leave a message. I owe no one and pay cash for everything. They call on weekends and as late as 8 p.m. This is nonsense and aggravating. Caller ID says "Toll Free Call".

Get calls a couple of times a day from these guys. I use a spam call blocking app on my phone. App intercepts their call and informs them their number has been blocked. Doesn’t really make much difference since they use a auto dialer to call people. App keeps their calls from even ringing through. Call 10,000 times a day if you like. You can continue speaking to a recording that blocks your call. Knock yourself out.

I get this recording at least 3 times a week on my cell phone. No other information given except that they have important personal business and to call back the number. How important can it be if it isn't even a person calling. Does anyone know how to stop this?

Keep getting the automated message but when I press 4 nothing happens for a minute. Then it tells me to deliver a message to the person they're trying to reach. Super annoying but I guess that's what blocklist apps are for.
