I recieved a call from a Debra from this 800 number. Claimed she worked for PRS and ask for a person who has the same name as me but with a diferent middle name. The caller began to ask my wife alot of questions. This is the second call. 1st one came in November. Knowing how these agencies work I will most likely get on in Jan 09.

They ned to stop calling me. They have the wrong person.

They called my cell, left a voice mail then called again.  Isn't this harassment?   I was told by law a collection agency can only call once a day and leave one message, they're obviously trying to bombard me with calls in order to get me to answer.  I hate being in debt.

I'd like to know what the hell they call for if I already told they've got the wrong #. When I'm back to work, my answer machine has 4 messages, from different persons but from the same company every day!! They ask for a Lori Garner; I guess, and they leave numbers to call them back. I'm so tired of them!! What we can do about it?? Today, as usual Mr. Stevens called and left a message, it's 10:30 am by the end of the day he'll call again, looks like a recorded machine, b/c he says exactly the same thing every time he calls "This is Mr. Stevens, please return my call at 800-915-1016, again this is Mr. Stevens from PRS please return my call at 800-915-1016." Stop calling or I'd have to contact my lawyer! Damn it!

I received a call from 18003739358, 18009151016 (ext. 31025), 18668542113 (ext.2146). The first time I received a call it was from a lady named Emily Gibson she left me a message and said she was calling from PSR and that it was very urgent that I speak with her. I called her back and heard a weird clicking sound almost like a transfer not done right or something, and then this guy named Melvin Brooks picked up and I asked for Emily, and he says oh! Emily works for me...He asked me if my name was___ and I replied yes. He then explained that he was calling on behalf of HSBC card services and wanted to negotiate a settlement amount. Now I know this type of trickery its happened to me in the past in which the last company eventually stopped calling me because I asked a lot of questions regarding the company that they just couldn't answer. So anyways, I proceeded flip the script and said "what exactly does PSR stand for?" Melvin said: Professional Recovery Services, I asked where are you based? Melvin said: New Jersey and Nevada, are you familiar? I replied "yes". I then told Melvin that I would do some background checking and would call him back, he sounded a bit hesitant at first but then proceeded to go along with it. The message that "Emily" left was very unprofessional she wasn't clear about why she was calling, and Melvind sounded just as unprofessional  as her! Another then PSR only has one location: New Jersey their is no listing in Nevada at all!! I will be calling HSBC soon to confirm or deny this ridiculous company very soon, I hope this has been of some help, I encourage everyone to do there research because with the unemployment rate at any all time high people are getting very clever out here..

    Professional Recovery Services

I work for PRS. We are a legitamite company. Our main office is in Vorhees, NJ we also have a call center in Vineland, NJ & Las Vegas, NV. Our web address is http://www.prsinc.net/ We can call your neighbors if we cannot locate you they are called "nearbys". We can also contact a family member to gather information if need be. The only thing we can say about who we are is "PRS / Professional Recovery Services in reguards to a buisness matter" I highly doubt the collector discussed what you call personal information with anyone. The only person we can speak to without the debtor's permission is the debtor's wife. The minimum payments on these cards is less than $50 a month, usually less than $20. There is no excuse to fall behind on such a bill. !!!NONE!!! Disability, unemployment etc... Jesus Christ how do you call behind on such a low payment. HSBC is big on sub-prime lending which is probably why most of there accounts end up in colection. The best thing I can say is !!!PAY YOUR BILLS!!!

    Upset and puzzled
Yesterday, after explaining my jobless situation to an agent from PRS. I was told that:
"Trust me, you think your life is hard now, your life can get more difficult".
"I'm going to contact your husband's HR dept and have his check garnished”
“How would you like to see $300.00 on his paycheck”
“You will lose your apartment, you will end up on the streets with your kids”
“You can loose your vehicle because it is considered property”
“You won’t be able to finish nursing school because this is going to reflect on your application for loans”
And that’s just to list a few.
Now in spite of all that, I thought we worked out a deal so today I called back to finalize it and heard something totally different from another agent.  Because of that I asked for a something in writing.  After getting back to the original agent, I asked for a letter in the mail or email and basically got my head chewed off.  Talk about character bashing.  It’s a good thing I’m not suicidal. Why can’t I get a simple letter documenting the agreement we came to?  What goes around comes right back around (with more force to it).  Wait and see.
I mean really, why can’t I get a simple letter?

Fed Up Collector replies to Timoteo

You must realize what Debt Collectors go through.  They can call a number one day and be told the Debtors out of Country, two days later the Debtors dead and the following week the Debtor answers phone.  It's constant lies and avoidance.  Debtor should realize that Collection Agencies can make valid and suitable arrangments on behalf of the Debtor and the Clients which will make all parties involved happy.  All they are trying to do is resolve a debt that is owed.  There are plenty of payment plans, Settlements and arranagements that can be put in place.  Instead people just continue to run and hide from their responsiblities, just answer the phone and work it out instead of running up cards that you know you have no intentions of ever paying back. Who's really the bad guys here.

The bad guys are... replies to Fed Up Collector
...the banks and their predatory lending practices.  All it takes is a brief spate of trouble, the inability to make a couple of payments on time, and then the interest and penalties mount so quickly it is impossible to catch up.

Fortunately the government has recognized the injustice of this situation and is taking steps to put and end to it.

I got a call from 800-915-1016 to my cell this morning and they asked for Scott and Amanda Green. That's not my name nor my husbands or anyone I know. I said you have dialed the wrong number but he got mad. He asked "what is your name?". I said why would I give you my name? He said we'll keep calling till we know who you are. Jerk... He didn't even say his name or where he was calling from. I said they (the Greens) listed the wrong number or you dialed the wrong number. I've had this one for 6 or 7 years... Anyway, he was a jerk and wouldn't listen. I don't have any bill I'm behind on so I don't know what this is all about.

    The truth
To the moron that works for PRS: Number one your not professional like the initials stand for. Your a debt collection agency that gets paid a commision to try to collect whatever you can from people. When a credit card company can't collect any more from a debtor they sell that debt for pennies. That's where you come in to try to scare and intimitade poor incocent people to pay up. You don't get paid unless they settle up. Some of your kind say that your an invesigator. But guess what it's against the law to say such lies. People don't give into their tricks. They need to provide any debts in writing and they must not call you again! Their low lifes, scum bags, are not worth not even 1 min of your time!
